Wilderness Survival with Druid System

For a wealthy person who rented an entire snow slope, the ski resort naturally tries to meet their demands as much as possible.

Soon, Mr. Zhang brought a lot of ropes and skis, as well as several ski poles.

Noticing Chen Wen genuinely intended to improve things as he described, Mr. Zhang also became interested.

He stood by, advising Chen Wen on how to make improvements.

Chen Wen threaded the rope through the pot ears, securing two skis to the bottom of the large pot.

After tying a knot tightly, Chen Wen picked up a ski pole, and once again had Jiang Chang push him down the snow slope.

This time, Chen Wen clearly felt the difference.

After being pushed down the slope, he could feel the balance of the large pot was much better than before, and as the speed increased, the stability also improved quite a bit.

Chen Wen picked up the ski pole and began attempting to control the direction while sliding downhill in the pot.

The first attempt was somewhat awkward, leading to Chen’s failure.

But once he found the right angle and stabbed the ground hard with the ski pole, the pot successfully adjusted its direction, moving slightly to the left.

Seeing this scene, Chen Wen’s eyes lit up.

The ski pole, he has a replacement!

It’s a long spear.

Using the long spear, one can also adjust the direction.

As the pot slid down to the bottom of the slope with a whoosh, Chen Wen again tried to slow down using the ski pole, attempting to stop.

However, due to the ski pole being too thin, the braking feel wasn’t great.

Chen Wen tried several times, eventually becoming out of control and being thrown out by the pot.

After a somersault, he stood up.

Chen Wen patted off the ice particles clinging to him, feeling assured inside.

”It’s alright, I’m fine.”

Seeing the worried Jiang Chang and Mr. Zhang rushing over, Chen Wen waved his hand: ”The braking effect is average, but if I replace it with something longer, maybe it’ll have a better effect.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Zhang nodded.

As Chen Wen said, it’s difficult for a single ski pole to brake at such high speeds.

Afterward, Chen Wen slid many times and fell quite a few times as well.

But overall, he had a blueprint for using the large iron pot in place of skis.

”Okay, I already know how to improve it.”

One afternoon later, Chen Wen shook hands with Mr. Zhang: ”Thank you.”

Mr. Zhang smiled and nodded, shaking hands with Chen Wen, thus concluding the cooperation with this eccentric wealthy individual.

...

After returning to his accommodation, Chen Wen quickly contacted an experienced welder.

He took the custom-made pot shipped in by air to the welder’s shop.

In the shop, Chen Wen explained his needs.

The welder, slightly puzzled, nonetheless made improvements to the pot according to Chen Wen’s requests.

One afternoon later.

Chen Wen took the altered pot that barely still resembled a pot to submit for approval with Qu Yong.

Qu Yong’s room.

Looking at the bizarre item Chen Wen brought, Qu Yong couldn’t help but twitch his eyebrows.

”You’re saying...this is a pot?”

Qu Yong, holding an oversized flat-bottomed iron pot, had a hesitant gleam in his eyes.

He’d seen flat-bottomed pots and big pots.

But this larger flat-bottomed iron pot...

This was truly his first time seeing one!

”Yes, this is a pot!”

Chen Wen’s gaze was firm, just like the trustworthy Ji Bu.

Qu Yong felt his eyebrows twitching even more.

He picked up the flat-bottomed iron pot again, examining the pot ears on both sides.

The pot ears were re-engineered.

Large and easy to grip.

Seemed fine at first glance.

But after flipping the pot over, Qu Yong’s face turned entirely dark, darker than the pot’s bottom!

He couldn’t help but curse: ”What the hell is this? Hey! Chen Wen, do you think our association is sky-high, able to manipulate competitions?”

Just a glance at the supposedly flat pot bottom, with iron strips welded onto it, resembling a ski board’s bottom.

With just a look, Qu Yong understood Chen Wen’s plan.

This kid plans to use this pot as a ski board!

If it becomes an actual tool used in survival.

Then the negative impact of the number seventeen on Chen Wen is minimal.

Qu Yong took a deep breath to calm himself.

Chen Wen chuckled: ”Mr. Qu, just help me submit this thing, see if they approve it, if not, I’ll get another pot; if it’s approved, we’ve hit the jackpot, if not, we’re not losing anything.”

Qu Yong nodded, indeed it makes sense.

He lifted the flat-bottomed iron pot, saying: ”I’ll help you submit it and chat with the committee responsible for the review, but be prepared for it not getting approved.”

Chen Wen nodded.

This was just an attempt; if it didn’t work, he’d swap it for a regular large iron pot.

Later, using ropes to secure stones or similar items to the pot bottom.

Although not as effective as the flat-bottomed iron pot, it would still yield some effect.

...

After waiting for half an hour.

Qu Yong returned to the room holding the pot.

Chen Wen glanced at Qu Yong, trying to guess the outcome from his expression.

However, Qu Yong deliberately maintained a neutral expression, gently placing the pot on the ground.

Chen Wen’s heart skipped a beat, was it not approved?

Shouldn’t be the case!

Based on his estimate of the committee, generally exploiting loophole-rule behaviors are allowed the first time they appear.

But they restrict similar behaviors afterward.

This judgment was drawn from the experiences of Xu Qiang and similar events.

Did he misjudge?

While Chen Wen was self-doubting, Qu Yong spoke: ”The review committee made a decision, since there were no previous restrictions on pot modifications, this time you’re permitted to bring this special pot for survival in the challenge!”

”But it won’t be allowed afterward; the committee decided to reinforce restrictions on modified pots in future Eight Extremes Challenges.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen’s eyes brightened: ”Great, nailed it! Haha!”

”The first-time loophole-rule exploitation is usually approved but restricted later!”

Qu Yong couldn’t maintain his serious expression, smiling: ”This kid, it seems your judgment of those old guys is spot on, but the later people aren’t our problem, let them worry about it!”

The two laughed heartily, Chen Wen felt much relieved.

With this issue resolved, his biggest disadvantage from the beginning was tackled.

...

Meanwhile at the same time.

The other four teams were also looking for allies and discussing survival strategies.

The Nepal Association naturally joined forces with the Australian Association.

Nuo Bu from the Nepal Association said with a worried face: ”It’s been confirmed, Vikram and Bao Wen have already reached an agreement to cooperate, their people will team up to eliminate us first!”

Jon nodded gravely.

This time, he brought his association’s newbies to experience the Eight Extremes Challenge, already being weaker in strength compared to other teams.

Being targeted by strong teams again, he could already foresee a tragic outcome.

To change such a fate, Jon said: ”We must unite, should we include Chen Wen?”

With Dennis’ connection, Jon felt if he sincerely approached Chen Wen, the probability of persuading him to join the team was high.

But Nuo Bu frowned and said: ”No, Chen Wen is strong, but this is his first time surviving on highland, and starting off so poorly, I don’t think he could last till the final elimination phase or even get down the snowy mountain.”

Jon was stunned hearing this.
