Wilderness Survival with Druid System

In this world, there are many people who like to brush with death.

And Chen Wen is the one who stands out the most.

After all, from the day he started trying to survive, he has been dancing on the edge of danger.

Of course, for those with an adventurous spirit, this doesn’t count as courting death; it’s a challenge.

Chen Wen thinks the same way.

Among these challenges, hunting a saltwater crocodile that could be seven meters long is an unprecedented thrilling experience!

Therefore, Chen Wen had almost no hesitation.

He decisively said, ”No problem, I can wait for you to finish scouting! Also, if there’s anything you need my help with, just let me know. I will help you hunt this monster!”

Hearing this, Tata was a bit baffled.

Why did this ’wild man’ become excited upon hearing about a seven-meter-long saltwater crocodile?

Is it my illusion?

But while he was confused, Chen Wen pointed to the crocodile corpse in the river: ”And as you can see, I am an experienced hunter myself. I even think the four of us can kill that monster saltwater crocodile!”

”No, no, no.”

Tata promptly dismissed Chen Wen’s reckless idea.

They’re hunters, not Superman. Don’t drag them into boasting.

Tata chuckled awkwardly and changed the subject: ”Well, if there’s a chance.”

Saying this, Tata motioned Chen Wen to put some heavy supplies onto the canoe.

He explained, ”We need to carefully search the downstream area. I will walk along the bank to search, we will be together while my uncle and cousin search in the water for crocodile traces.”

Chen Wen nodded, agreeing to Tata’s arrangement.

...

After moving some supplies onto the canoe, Chen Wen pulled a wild horse, following Tata along the riverbank downstream.

Tata, being an experienced hunter, was impressive to Chen Wen in finding prey.

He held a spear, walking cautiously near the shrubs.

When walking, Tata would use the spear to tap the surrounding bushes, driving away potential threats lurking inside.

During one encounter, Tata even drove away an adult saltwater crocodile lurking in the bushes.

This surprised Chen Wen greatly.

There are hidden masters among the people!

This awareness and vigilance are hard to possess for an ordinary survivor.

However, after about an hour of walking, Tata raised his hand and communicated briefly with his companions on the boat.

Then he looked at Chen Wen: ”Let’s rest for now, we must take a break after walking for so long.”

Well, it seems the physical strength is somewhat lacking.

Chen Wen nodded in agreement to the rest.

The two on the canoe stopped at a calm river bay and came ashore.

When they disembarked, they brought some supplies down with them.

Chen Wen glanced over and saw that they brought a pot and some food.

At this moment, Chen Wen said, ”My saltwater crocodile is also edible.”

Upon hearing this, Tata’s eyes lit up.

Being local indigenous people, saltwater crocodile meat is considered a rare delicacy.

Thus, when Tata shared this news with others, his uncle Wuge and cousin Darren gave Chen Wen a friendly look.

After all, for indigenous people, someone who shares delicious food can’t be a bad person.

Wuge then took the crocodile carcass and skillfully started removing the scales.

He adeptly disassembled the crocodile, chopping it into small pieces with a machete.

Finally, he placed the chopped crocodile pieces into the pot and quickly added several seasonings.

Watching Wuge’s skilled movements, Chen Wen suddenly felt that this brown-skinned uncle seemed more like a poacher.

Apparently perceiving Chen Wen’s strange gaze.

Tata immediately explained, ”Long ago, when there was no protection for saltwater crocodiles, my uncle was the village’s only crocodile hunter and chef.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen understood.

While cooking, Chen Wen and Tata kept chatting.

Their conversation included the monster saltwater crocodile that attacked the town residents, as well as Chen Wen’s past adventures.

Upon hearing about Chen Wen and his team’s detailed journey across the Kimberley Plateau.

Tata also grew a sense of admiration for the adventurer who seemed like a wild man.

Through conversation, their relationship became closer.

However, as they chatted.

Chen Wen and Tata gradually became distracted by a peculiar fragrance.

The source of the aroma naturally came from the pot over the fire.

Chen Wen gently sniffed; the peculiar smell awakened his long-dormant taste buds.

”No doubt about Uncle Wuge, his saltwater crocodile stew could only be eaten during holidays in the old village!”

Tata said, feeling his mouth constantly watering.

But just as everyone was looking forward to the delicious meal.

Not far from them by the riverside.

The wild horse was drinking water here.

And as the horse drank, something seemed to quietly approach in the river water.

The wild horse’s perception ability is strong.

Thus, it immediately heard the sound in the water.

Compared to human ears with only three muscles, a horse’s ear possesses sixteen muscles.

Their hearing is far superior to humans.

At this moment, the wild horse noticed the movement in the water and nervously retreated away from the riverbank.

And Dahuang immediately observed the wild horse’s abnormal behavior.

Following the horse’s gaze, Dahuang saw something in the water.

It was a giant beast from the dinosaur era!

Dahuang immediately sounded a warning call, upon hearing which the horse and other animals quickly moved away from the water.

At this moment, Chen Wen also heard Dahuang’s barking.

He quickly stood up, while Tata froze for a moment.

But as Chen Wen walked towards the water, Tata immediately followed.

”What happened?”

Tata asked, somewhat nervously.

He sensed something different from Chen Wen’s expression.

Chen Wen’s expression was serious: ”Just now, something seemed to approach this area!”

”Is it a saltwater crocodile?”

Tata inquired.

Chen Wen nodded: ”An Australian Wild Dog alerting like this is most likely a saltwater crocodile, and a mature one at that!”

As Chen Wen was speaking, sudden bubbles emerged from the water surface about thirty meters away.

When Chen Wen looked over, he saw a very long tail slice through beneath the water.

”There it is!”

Chen Wen immediately signaled Tata to look.

However, Tata’s eyesight was limited, and he saw nothing.

”What is that?!”

Tata asked nervously.

Chen Wen took a deep breath: ”I reckon it’s your target, the gigantic monster saltwater crocodile!”

Monster saltwater crocodile!

Tata immediately used dialect to call his uncle and cousin.

Both grabbed spears and approached the water, cautiously gazing at the surface.

But unfortunately, that saltwater crocodile seemed to sense the danger posed by the group, and as it submerged into the water, it disappeared.

Chen Wen stood by the water, tuning into perception for a long time but sensed no danger.

Thus, he called the three back to the camp.

But following this small episode, none of them felt like discussing food anymore.

Including Chen Wen, they all occasionally glanced towards the river, observing the surface.

As if the monster crocodile might suddenly appear.

Restless.
