Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Suddenly, two wolves rushed out.

They could be highland wolves, or maybe just regular ones.

Chen Wen wasn’t sure what breed of wolves these were, but their target was exceedingly clear.

They ignored Chen Wen and headed straight for the snow leopard following behind him.

After a brief moment of tension, Chen Wen realized this as well.

He yelled loudly, trying to convey his goodwill to the snow leopard, attempting to get it to come closer.

But the young snow leopard was terrified by the sudden emergence of two wolves.

It had no idea what to do.

Its instincts caused it to emit a warning cry while retreating towards the cliff behind.

Yet, Chen Wen’s goodwill made the snow leopard realize that only his side was safe.

The snow leopard’s mind froze for an instant.

In a brief moment of hesitation, the snow leopard lost the opportunity to escape immediately.

The two wolves came closer!

They displayed their sharp fangs, revealing a vicious appearance.

Accompanied by a whimpering growl, the two wolves suddenly launched into a biting attack on the snow leopard!

The snow leopard, relying on its instincts, nimbly dodged the attack from the wolf on the left, but its back was fiercely bitten by the wolf on the right.

The grey-white fur was stained with specks of blood.

Chen Wen, rushing over, couldn’t help but curse, using the handle of a long spear as the spearhead, and threw it at the wolf on the left.

This hit was powerful; although it didn’t penetrate the wolf’s skin, it successfully caused it pain, making it dodge aside.

The other wolf also realized that this two-legged creature was accompanying its prey.

It released the snow leopard, went beside its companion, and emitted a low growl, threatening Chen Wen.

The snow leopard, freed from the wolf’s jaws, quickly reached Chen Wen’s side, trembling a bit.

This kid was truly scared out of its wits.

Chen Wen thought as his eyes grew serious.

Although the rules didn’t allow him to kill the two wolves—Qiangtang’s ecological environment had improved but remained fragile, especially lacking in medium-to-large predators like wolves and snow leopards.

However, driving them away or making them suffer wasn’t against the requirements.

Doing so might even make them remember humans as dangerous, encouraging them to stay away from humans, lest they fall prey to poachers.

Therefore, as the two wolves regrouped.

Chen Wen swiftly bent down, picked up a few stones, and clutched them in his palm.

The snow leopard stood by Chen Wen’s side, having settled its mind.

Chen Wen extended his hand, and the blessing of the Animal Doctor was immediately bestowed upon the snow leopard.

At the same time, the system came alive.

Chen Wen quickly glanced at it and selected an entry.

Then, he opened his eyes and looked at the two wolves again.

Realizing that Chen Wen might not be easy to provoke, the wolves hesitated.

Wolves are opportunists.

When they perceive an opportunity, they’ll hunt mercilessly.

Conversely, upon realizing an opportunity has vanished, they’ll decisively give up.

So, after a period of stalemate.

Chen Wen threw a stone, hitting the unwounded wolf, causing it to emit a whimper of pain.

The two wolves abandoned their hunt of the snow leopard and fled swiftly into the distance.

Chen Wen tensed his body, even taking a few steps after them, observing them depart completely before stopping and tossing the stone back to the ground.

”Damn, the wolves here are so fierce!”

Chen Wen couldn’t help but say.

This was his first encounter with wolves daring to confront humans on their own.

Previously, Hua Yun had mentioned that in some places, even a pack of wolves wouldn’t dare to challenge humans.

In comparison, the wolves here were much more ferocious.

Chen Wen, after taking a breath, glanced at the entry he had quickly chosen.

As an entry gained as a blessing from the Animal Doctor, its effect was decent enough.

Balance Master (Purple): You can better maintain bodily balance during high-speed motion, enhancing balance ability.

It’s a useful but somewhat limited entry.

After selecting the entry.

Chen Wen looked at the snow leopard, which now fully accepted Chen Wen’s presence, even allowing him to be right next to it.

Holding the snow leopard, he checked its injuries.

Chen Wen breathed a sigh of relief.

It was just startled and had a superficial injury, and thankfully, its offspring wasn’t heavily affected either.

After checking the snow leopard’s wounds, Chen Wen extended his hand to comfort it, letting it gradually calm down.

At this point, Chen Wen was also analyzing what had attracted the two wolves.

Soon, he tapped his forehead.

The night before, he heard intermittent wolf howls, initially thinking they were calling from a distant wolf pack.

Thinking back, it’s highly probable the sounds came from these two wolves residing at the mountain’s foot.

Moreover, he was carrying a pile of sheep meat that, although mostly drained of blood, still emitted a lingering smell that couldn’t elude the wolves’ keen noses.

Hence, their encirclement was likely due to his own issues!

Moreover, wolves have very strong territorial consciousness.

Seeing the snow leopard entering their territory, they likely ignored Chen Wen and targeted the snow leopard instead.

As a competitor and a source of food.

The wolves held greater hostility toward the snow leopard than towards Chen Wen.

Not to mention, Chen Wen also seemed not easily provoked.

Thinking of this, Chen Wen glanced at the snow leopard somewhat apologetically.

If it hadn’t been for him drawing the wolf pack over, the snow leopard wouldn’t have suffered such an undeserved calamity.

Chen Wen gently extended his hand, stroking the snow leopard’s head, letting it rest against him.

Since Chen Wen rescued the snow leopard from the wolves’ attack, the snow leopard felt a great fondness for Chen Wen.

Furthermore, the snow leopard gradually grew reliant on Chen Wen.

As Chen Wen stroked the snow leopard, he suddenly saw the word ”Tame” appear above the snow leopard’s head.

Tame?

Special animal?

Chen Wen looked at the snow leopard in astonishment, seemingly not expecting it to be a special animal.

Feeling Chen Wen cease his actions, the snow leopard lifted its head, curiously watching Chen Wen.

The ”Tame” on its head also started dimming.

Chen Wen hurriedly continued stroking, and the snow leopard comfortably laid beside him, the ”Tame” lighting up again.

Tame, does the system consider it an emotion too?

Chen Wen contemplated while touching his chin.

He hesitated a moment, then spoke: ”So, how do you feel now?”

Hearing Chen Wen’s voice, the snow leopard was momentarily stupefied, then a soft voice replied: ”Very comfortable!”

”...”

Chen Wen stared at the snow leopard, while the snow leopard stared back at him in surprise.

Non-static image...

Before long.

The snow leopard seemed to realize something and jumped up, looking at Chen Wen: ”You! You can actually speak! No, you’re different from the other two-legged ones!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen was certain that this snow leopard had once received help from humans.

He calmly replied: ”Yes, we are somewhat different.”

Listening to Chen Wen’s voice, the snow leopard curiously circled around him, its thick, long tail occasionally sweeping the ground and brushing against Chen Wen.

After a while, the snow leopard said: ”You’re amazing, can I ask you for a favor?”

Chen Wen nodded: ”Speak freely.”

Although not understanding Chen Wen’s expression, the snow leopard said directly: ”I want to ask you to help me find those two-legged ones who helped me, is that okay? Without them, I wouldn’t have survived until now, would have starved to death long ago. Look at the wound here; they helped treat it.”

Hearing this, Chen Wen glanced at the snow leopard’s right hind leg.

Only then did he notice that the snow leopard’s right hind leg seemed severely injured, even showing scars through the sparse fur.
