Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 751: Chapter 750: Has a Knockoff Version of the Supreme God Space Appeared?

After confirming that he would not be able to access the database, Fang Zheng’s actions in the Western Continent came to an end. He didn’t need to pay attention to the Kingdom of Flame for the time being, as long as they didn’t find the Goddess’s database. Fang Zheng would just let them meddle elsewhere; it was merely a matter of F2A issues, and if one wave didn’t solve it, then they would just send another wave.

What was troubling Fang Zheng right now were the tasks in the Free Trial World.

Considering that this time the system was randomly seizing people, unlike before when it was either Fang Zheng time-traveling first, or designating someone else to travel with him, Fang Zheng hurried back to the Heavenly Dao Palace to inform the others of the newly updated system rules. He also issued announcements to all residents in the Heavenly Dao Palace through their personal terminals, setting new regulations.

Firstly, Fang Zheng would send out a reminder thirty minutes before traversing to the Trial World. During these thirty minutes, all residents of the Heavenly Dao Palace must wear their personal terminals in case of emergency. After all, the personal terminals of the Heavenly Dao Palace were no longer just tools for communication and internet access; they also had features such as personal positioning, Plasma Barrier, and three instances of the Healing Technique to cope with various situations.

After wearing the personal terminal, the screen would display a confirmation message, monitored by Nymph until everyone had confirmed. Only then would Fang Zheng initiate the Trial Teleportation. But if anyone was not wearing their personal terminal, Fang Zheng would postpone... until that person wore their personal terminal. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

After all, knowing the system’s propensities, the possibility that it would specifically transport someone who wasn’t wearing a personal terminal... was quite high.

Of course, those ”unfortunate” individuals who were chosen and returned successfully would receive personal reward points given by Fang Zheng. Considering the dangers of the Trial World, which were much greater than the mission worlds, Fang Zheng naturally needed to give them more rewards——but why does it feel like this is trending towards becoming a knock-off of the Supreme God Space?

After Fang Zheng published the announcement, Tilia and Nymph remained calm, but the Cursed Children were ecstatic. Previously, due to Fang Zheng’s concerns for the safety of the Cursed Children, they hardly ever followed Fang Zheng to other worlds. Now, hearing that Fang Zheng would take them on adventures in other worlds, these Cursed Children were quite excited.

However, Fang Zheng was not excited at all.

If it were a mission world, perhaps Fang Zheng would not be so worried. After all, although there are some very dangerous worlds in the mission world, there are also relatively safe worlds, such as those where Kurumi and Yoshino resided. However, in the Trial World... based on Fang Zheng’s experiences with ”Higurashi,” ”Black Soul,” and ”Fire Dragon” worlds, they were basically not pleasant places. They were marked by malice or world destruction. The Fire Dragon World was relatively simple, but that was because Fang Zheng had become the Time Dragon before entering the Fire Dragon World. If he had entered the Fire Dragon World in human form, he would have likely been chased all over by Fire Dragons...

By extension, Fang Zheng did not believe that the ”updated” Free Trials would be any sort of romantic school story; they would likely be even more dangerous and troublesome. If he were to traverse alone, then Fang Zheng at least only needed to worry about himself. But if he took others with him, the situation would be completely different.

The only silver lining was that after the system overhaul, the Free Trial World now offered a difficulty selection, where one star represented the lowest difficulty, and three stars was the highest. Although Fang Zheng could not prevent the system from randomly selecting people, he could choose the difficulty level and the start time of the task.

And Fang Zheng had already decided: to start with a one-star difficulty level to test the waters. As for the content of the Trial...

”Let’s go with strength,” he said.

After considering for a long time, Fang Zheng finally made a decision, and upon hearing his response, the others were somewhat curious.

”Why is that, Elder Brother?”

Twirling her umbrella in hand, Tilia asked curiously, and Fang Zheng nodded, providing an answer.

”I had previously trained in the Mind-Skill-Body world. If I remember correctly about the Free Trials, these three types of trials correspond to three different specialized worlds. You must know that, unlike the mission world, I cannot open a Dimensional Passage to call for support at any time in the Free Trial. Unless we completely pass the Trial, we cannot leave that world.”

As he said this, Fang Zheng spread his hands.

”In such circumstances, the danger level of the Trial World would be greatly increased, and if we’re not careful, we might end up capsizing in the gutter. Just the thought of the trials of soul and wisdom sounds complicated, but the trial of strength... is relatively simple by comparison.”

This was also the reason why Fang Zheng chose the power trial as his first test subject. Nobody knew what twists and turns might exist in the worlds of soul and wisdom, and both traits were complex and difficult to answer. Power trials, however, were much simpler. When in doubt, just brute force your way through, as long as you pass the power appraisal, you’ll definitely clear it... Convenient, fast, simple and violent.

Of course, all these were just conjectures, and as for the actual situation, Fang Zheng would need to experience it personally before he could say for certain.

The only lucky thing was that the Free Trial World did not take up any real-world time, so Fang Zheng didn’t have to worry about the Heavenly Dao Palace being unattended for months like with mission worlds—this round trip, at most, would see a hundred years pass by on the other side, while only thirty minutes would go by here.

Of course, you’d better adjust to the time difference.

”Alright, Nymph... let’s begin.”

”Understood, Master.”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s command, the Little Angel nodded, then tapped on her personal terminal. Soon, the sound of a clear bell echoed throughout the Heavenly Dao Palace. Meanwhile, all the Cursed Children who were shopping, eating, playing in the park, and even those in class stopped their activities, opened their personal terminals, and pressed the ”ready confirmation” button.

Quickly, Fang Zheng saw the string of red signs on the big screen before him rapidly change to blue, indicating that everyone wearing a terminal was ready to head to the new world. When the entire screen turned blue, a pleasant notification chimed, and a ”confirmation complete” prompt appeared in front of Fang Zheng.

”Everyone is ready, Master.”

”I see that.”

Fang Zheng took another look at the screen before him, shook his head, then extended his hand to open the Dimensional Codex, tapped on the bright red flame, and adjusted the difficulty level to one star.

Next, it was time to witness fate.

African or European, it would all be decided this time!

With that thought, Fang Zheng stretched out his hand and pressed the trial world button before him.

In the next instant, the burning flame suddenly erupted from under Fang Zheng’s feet, swallowing him into the flames.

The whistling sound of the wind emerged once again by Fang Zheng’s ears. However, this time, it didn’t seem as dangerous as before. Instead of feeling like a high-altitude fall, it was more like sliding down a water slide at an aqua park—predictably, he was then promptly thrown out.

I swear, me and this teleportation are never going to get along in this lifetime!

But fortunately, Fang Zheng had been tricked by the Codex’s teleportation so many times that he had become proficient at it. Realizing something was wrong, he quickly somersaulted and landed steadily on the ground. Fang Zheng muttered a complaint under his breath, then looked up and surveyed his surroundings.

Then, Fang Zheng helplessly pressed his forehead and sighed.

”Alright, I knew it would be this routine.”
