Chapter 767: Chapter 766: The Origins of Sanhua Rea (Part 1)

```
The SUV tore across the street, its engine roaring as it sped forward.
”Haah...”
Watching the scenery zip by the car window, Little Hei couldn’t help but sigh.
”We were supposed to be rescuing people, and now... we’re actually taking a zombie on an investigation?”
”Well, it’s not like we’ve got anything better to do, right?”
Maneuvering the steering wheel, Fang Zheng drove the SUV at high speed down the street while casually answering.
”So far, we haven’t received any more distress signals, but don’t worry, Tina has already released the detector. If she finds any survivors, she’ll contact us. Since we’re free anyway, it might be good for us to find something to do. Miss Zombie’s mutation is quite interesting, so taking her to her school or home might help her remember more.”
”That’s easy to say, but...”
While speaking, Little Hei looked back at Sanhua Remi, who was sitting in the back.
”Why did you put a helmet on her??”
”Just as a precaution. You’ve seen it, she hasn’t eaten all day, which suggests that the food humans used to eat is no longer suitable for her. Until we find food she can eat, it’s safer to keep her like this. Otherwise, if she gets too hungry and bites someone, that’s when we would really have a problem.”
”Hmm...”
Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s reply, Little Hei hummed meaningfully, then her eyes flickered.
”So, big brother, what if she starts eating people... what then?”
”In that case...”
As he spoke, Fang Zheng suddenly spun the steering wheel, and soon the SUV was seen skillfully drifting around a corner, slipping between the wreckage of two cars.
”Then we would have no choice but to eliminate her. No way can we let someone who eats people live in this world.”
”True enough.”
Little Hei shrugged her shoulders, then closed her mouth, saying no more.
Before long, Fang Zheng drove up to the front of the Sanhua Girls’ Academy’s teaching building and stopped the car. It was now noon, and the entire campus was deserted, not a single zombie in sight.
For Fang Zheng, this was...
”A bit of a letdown.”
”Letdown?”
Hearing Fang Zheng’s complaint, Little Hei turned her head curiously towards him.
”What’s there to regret, big brother?”
”Look, this is a girls’ academy. I was actually looking forward to seeing fluttering sailor uniforms, miniskirts, and white knee-highs... you see, I even had my camera ready.”
While saying this, Fang Zheng shook his personal terminal slightly.
”...But those would all be zombies, right?”
”If they were all like Miss Sanhua, I wouldn’t mind. Plus, zombie schoolgirls have their own unique charm, don’t they?”
”Hmph...”
Hearing this, Little Hei snorted, then suddenly leaned forward towards Fang Zheng, smiling mischievously as she reached out, and pulled open the collar of her clothing.
```

”So, big brother, do you have a bright and sprightly JS in front of you? What do you think? I could even wear a sailor uniform for you to see?”

”......”

”Hmm?”

”After we get back, you must wear it for me to see.”

”No problem!”

During their conversation, Rea had also stumbled down from the car. Her eyes looked blankly at the teaching building ahead, and then Fang Zheng saw her subconsciously straighten her clothes before walking toward the building’s entrance, as if hypnotized. Fang Zheng and Little Hei hurriedly followed her inside.

Whether it’s the ”setting” or tradition, nearly all buildings bearing the ”Girls’ School” sign seemed very old, and the one before them was no exception. As soon as they stepped through the entrance, a Showa era ambiance enveloped them—the creaking wooden floors, the hall and pillars that looked quite dated indeed gave off the feeling of a girls’ academy from an anime.

Unfortunately, the lack of sailor uniform-clad JKs was a real disappointment to Fang Zheng. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

But what was more important...

”Be careful, there should be Mutant Zombies here.”

After scanning the empty corridor, Fang Zheng whispered to Little Hei, who then drew Gao Zhendong’s particle knife and nodded at Fang Zheng.

Since arriving in this world, Fang Zheng had almost grasped the behavioral patterns of the zombies. Common Zombies usually headed to the sewers before sunrise to avoid the sun, or hid in buildings that never saw daylight.

Therefore, by all reason, a dim and old school building like this one should also have Zombies. Yet, they saw not even a shadow of one, leaving only one possibility—that meant this area must be inhabited by Mutant Zombies.

After observing further, Fang Zheng realized that although Mutant Zombies evolved from the common kind, they seemed to have no sense of kinship at all. Moreover, these Mutant Zombies would even prey on the Common Zombies for food. Perhaps it was for this reason that in territories ruled by Mutant Zombies, one seldom encountered Common Zombies. And since they couldn’t see any here, it meant Mutant Zombies must have turned this place into their nest.

Of course, with the skills of Fang Zheng and Little Hei, they certainly wouldn’t take the Mutant Zombies of this world too seriously, but it was still better to be cautious. If they were to slip up in a moment of carelessness, that would truly be a laughing matter.

Rea seemed utterly unaware of any danger, continuing up the stairs with familiarity. She arrived at a classroom door on the second floor, pushed it open, walked to the second-to-last row of seats near the window, sat down, and silently stared ahead—like a robot that had completed its task.

”How come she seems so pitiful.”

Seeing this, Little Hei couldn’t help but sigh.

”Pitiful?”

”Yeah, big brother. Look at Miss Zombie, opening the door, entering the classroom, and then sitting down. These actions are obviously done out of instinct. But normally, when people come into a classroom, they look to see if their friends or close classmates are there, wave to them, right? But she just walked straight to her seat and sat down without lifting her head, not even pausing. Doesn’t that mean she doesn’t have friends?”

”You say that... it does seem so.”

Hearing Little Hei’s explanation, Fang Zheng nodded.

”So, what do we do next?”

”Hmm... I plan to go to the office to look for information about her. Since this is a school, there should be Sanhua Remi’s home address and telephone number. Maybe taking her home could give us more insight... Did you hear something?”

But before Fang Zheng could finish, he suddenly stopped, narrowed his eyes at Little Hei, and Little Hei nodded in response.

”I did, big brother...”

The two simultaneously fell silent, and at the same time, a faint sound of sobbing reached their ears.

”Wuwuwu...”

Who was crying?

The two exchanged glances and then looked toward Rea, who was seated. She was still motionless, and through the slits in her helmet, they could see she was just staring blankly, not crying at all.

So... who was the one making the crying sound?
