Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 785: Chapter 784: This Time, We’ve Found a Treasure!

The scene before them was simply inconceivable for the upper echelons of the Umbrella Corporation.

You must understand, they had expended so much effort to capture these mutant zombies and modify them for control. Logically, by relying on the chips installed in the brains of these mutant zombies, they should have been able to perfectly control these ”tools,” but...

”It’s no use, they won’t accept the commands!”

”Resistance to the signal has reached its peak!”

Watching the screen as a young man casually led three others out of the warehouse, while those mutant zombies that had surrounded them obediently backed away, the researchers at the console were also drenched in cold sweat. They tried to directly control the central nervous system of these mutant zombies by stimulating their brains to forcefully provoke these creatures to rampage and attack, but what these researchers had not anticipated was that even though these creatures had been stimulated to the limit, they still dared not launch an attack!

”Number three has surpassed its limits... it can’t hold on!”

As the researcher’s words fell, a Tyrant was seen collapsing thunderously to the ground on the screen. Under the suppression of Dragon Might, it simply couldn’t move, and the intense stimulation from the brain chip made it unable to endure the pain, ultimately, it reached its limit... The brain, unable to bear the stimulation, completely died, and this also marked the end of this Tyrant’s life.

”My God, how is this possible?”

Watching the scene unfold before them, everyone was utterly dumbfounded. They couldn’t imagine what force could instill such fear in these mutated creatures that they would rather take their own lives than dare to attack these people...

Who exactly are these people!

”Abort the operation.”

However, just at that moment, Sunglasses Man suddenly gave a decisive command.

”Immediately secure all data! Make contact with headquarters! Now, immediately!”

”Yes!!”

Although they didn’t know what Sunglasses Man intended to do, the others immediately started to act according to his orders, calling back the Clone Troopers originally intended to attack the yacht, and swiftly making contact with headquarters. It didn’t take long before a blond, blue-eyed man in a suit appeared on the screen, his expression somewhat stern, staring at Sunglasses Man.

”What is it? You should know that we are in a very important meeting.”

”Of course, I know, but I can assure you that you will be interested in what I have to report.”

As he spoke, Sunglasses Man transmitted the earlier data. Looking at the data presented before him, the middle-aged man was startled.

”What is this? This is something we accidentally discovered while attempting to capture a certain survivor team previously.”

”Survivor team?”

Hearing Sunglasses Man’s words, the middle-aged man’s expression grew even more puzzled, but he said nothing, stretching out his hand to click on the video. At first, the middle-aged man appeared unconcerned, but as he saw Fang Zheng and Little Hei effortlessly kill dozens of Clone Troopers, and the subsequent mutant zombies even fearing to attack them, the middle-aged man’s expression finally changed. He stared coldly at everything on the video until it ended, then remained silent for a long while before looking back at Sunglasses Man.

”Give me your opinion.”

”Yes, sir. Actually... I believe that these individuals are not humans at all.”

Upon hearing the middle-aged man’s query, Sunglasses Man gave a slight smile before quickly playing the video.

”Look, according to our instruments, the vital signs of these two young girls are extremely weak, almost non-existent. Their breathing is slow, there is no heartbeat, and their body temperature can’t even be detected. All these indicate that they are actually zombies. However, look, the behavior of these two young girls is exactly like that of humans, without any difference! This indicates that they not only retained the consciousness of their human phase but also possessed the physical qualities of zombies!”

”Hmm...”

Hearing this, the middle-aged man nodded his head. Umbrella Corporation developed bio-weapons; using them merely as weapons was only part of it. In fact, Umbrella hoped to create through this virus, immortals who would never age, fall ill, or die. Now, although these two young girls seemed a bit... peculiar, purely from a data perspective, they were already very close to the target Umbrella Corporation hoped to achieve.

”More importantly, these two!”

Sunglasses Man again pointed towards Fang Zheng and Little Hei.

”According to our instruments, their speed at the moment they moved was about five times that of a human’s limit! This is no longer the power that humans can possess! More importantly, I highly suspect that they are also infected by the virus!”

”Oh? Why?”

”Because of this!”

As he spoke, Sunglasses Man again pulled the video back to the part where the mutant zombies were suppressed.

”We all know that advanced mutant zombies have a suppressing power over lower-ranking zombies, and this scene clearly reflects that. I can affirm it! This young man must have been infected by the T-virus and has evolved a rather terrifying power as a result! Judging from the power he displayed, not only does he possess exceptional skill and speed, but he also wields some mysterious force and an ability sufficient to suppress other zombies, all of which indicate that he is a more worthy subject of study than the subjects of the Alice Project and the Saga Project!”

”Indeed...”

The middle-aged man also looked solemn as he nodded his head. Indeed, from what was shown on the screen, this young man could almost be considered the ultimate form of the virus-infected body that Umbrella had hoped for, possessing immense power and the ability to command, even control zombies, which was their desired goal!

”Very well, then I now, on behalf of headquarters, grant you the highest level of authorization. You can mobilize all the company’s resources and weapons. No matter what method you use, we must have him!!”

”Yes!”

Hearing the middle-aged man’s order, Sunglasses Man nodded, then clenched his fists, showing a hint of a cold smile.

”But sir, the Japan division currently lacks the manpower to deal with him, as you also saw. This young man is not merely an opponent that can be dealt with by the Clone Legion. I need some more powerful people to support...”

”I understand.”

The middle-aged man of course knew what the man in sunglasses was thinking. After pondering briefly, he made a decision.

”Headquarters will soon organize a troop to head to Japan, led by Wesker for support. You must ensure the mission is completed!”

”Understood!”

Upon hearing the middle-aged man’s response, the man in sunglasses excitedly nodded. The Umbrella Corporation had branches all over, and there was competition among the various branches. Due to the impact of the Alice project, the Americas branch had drawn away most of the resources and support. Although the Japan branch also had the Saga Project, up to this point, the project had not received much attention from the headquarters. But now... with this leverage, the Japan branch he managed would rise again!

This time, we’ve really hit the jackpot! I never expected to find such a perfect infected individual here, even more perfect than Alice!

”Master...”

As the image on the screen disappeared, one of the researchers nervously approached the man in sunglasses.

”What should we do next?”

”We absolutely cannot let them leave. Before the support troops from headquarters arrive, we must keep them in Saga...”

Muttering to himself, the man in sunglasses pondered for a moment, then his eyes lit up.

”From their earlier actions, it seems they are looking for survivors. Since that’s the case... let’s make them come to us for the survivors!”

Having said this, the man in sunglasses seemed to have another thought. He turned his head, looking at the researcher beside him.

”Right, those people we captured earlier, how are they?”

”Same as always... they aren’t willing to cooperate with our operations.”

”Bring them to me.”

”Yes.”

Upon hearing the man in sunglasses’ order, the researcher responded and then picked up a walkie-talkie to say something. Before long, the door opened, and several students, dressed up and escorted by fully armed soldiers, came before the man in sunglasses. Upon seeing the man in sunglasses, they immediately burst out angrily.

”What, what on earth do you want to do?”

”Bastard, where did you take our class president?”

As the students yelled, the man in sunglasses remained silent. He raised his gun and then suddenly pulled the trigger.

”Bang!”

”Ahhhhhh!”

Along with the scream, one of them was shot, wailing as he fell to the ground. The others were shocked by this scene.

”Hey, are you okay? Hang in there!”

”You dare to do this, you...”

”I think you misunderstand your position.”

Watching the fervent crowd before him, the man in sunglasses snorted coldly, then he reached out, pressing the gun against the forehead of the twin-tailed girl who was swearing at him. Feeling the hot gun barrel, she suddenly turned pale and couldn’t utter a word.

”You’re not in the world you used to live in anymore. Whether you live or die is a matter of my decision... Perhaps, you would like to become zombies? If that’s the case, I can assist,”

”You... you...”

”I need you to do something for me.”

The man in sunglasses ignored the hate in her eyes and looked at the boy who appeared to be their leader, smiling.

”As long as you are willing to help us, I will release your companions and even send you away from here... How does that sound?”

”...”

Facing the man in sunglasses’ offer, the boy bowed his head, hesitating. Seeing his reluctance, another girl urgently grabbed him.

”Don’t trust him! He won’t let us go!”

”...”

Yet, the boy remained silent. After a moment, as if having made up his mind, he looked up at the man in sunglasses.

”As long as I agree to help you, you will let the others go, right! Then let them go first. Once they are gone, I am willing to do anything you want!”

”Very well.”

Upon hearing the boy’s response, the man in sunglasses smiled again.

”It seems our deal is set... Komuro Takashi.”
