Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 762: Chapter 761: What is this situation?

Where am I?

I can’t feel anything, cold, heat, only darkness before my eyes.

What should I do?

Who am I?

Where am I?

Unable to find an answer, my memory seems ambiguous and unclear; something heavy is pressing on me, so heavy... so dense...

I reached out, seeming to feel some texture—soft, thick, damp... the smell and breath of soil...

”Uhh...”

I couldn’t make a sound; a faint light appeared before my eyes, then gradually became clearer. This seems to be... a grass field? A house? A street? What is this? What should I do?

My mind was in chaos, but the only thing I remembered was...

Yokohama North Station... very safe...

I need to go there... Yes, right now...

”Haah...”

Fang Zheng sat down on the sofa with a sigh, and beside him, Little Hei also looked utterly exhausted.

”Brother Zheng, what’s wrong? What happened? The rescue...”

Seeing their state, Midori curiously asked in a low voice, to which Fang Zheng helplessly waved his hand.

”The rescue failed... There seemed to be some issues with the survivors, just their bad luck, I guess.”

Fang Zheng did not elaborate to Midori. In fact, after seeing those people, Fang Zheng had no intention of taking them back. Those who could stoop to desecrate a young girl’s body were not the kind who could be justified by ”the apocalypse” or ”abandoning humanity to survive”. Bringing these people back would only invite trouble, and Fang Zheng was not the liberal saint from European and American films who insist ”as long as we are all human beings, we must save each other”. If a person could break a moral baseline once, they could do it again. Instead of keeping such people around to cause problems, it might as well be better to deal with them and feed them to the zombies.

After killing those three survivors, Fang Zheng and Little Hei dug a pit to give the girl a peaceful burial. Fang Zheng was somewhat displeased, since, judging by the state of the girl’s body, if they had arrived just five minutes earlier, they might have been able to save her. However, the reality was cruel, and all he could say was that the girl had bad luck...

”Big Brother, if you’re bored, how about we play a game?”

After a moment, Little Hei excitedly raised her hand to suggest.

”Since there’s nothing to do in this world, Midori and Natsuse are making dinner, so let’s kill some time first!”

”That’s not bad.”

Hearing Little Hei’s suggestion, Fang Zheng’s eyes lit up.

”So, do you have any suggestions?”

”Hehe...”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Little Hei showed a triumphant smile.

”How about... we play a very interesting game, Big Brother?”

As time ticked away, the sun soon set.

”Hmm... that’s about it.”

Setting down the shovel, looking at the dish of steaming food before her, Midori nodded in satisfaction. Then she turned to Kei Shidou next to her and spoke.

”So, Big Sister, could you please take these dishes to the table? I’ll go call Brother Fang Zheng and Sister Little Hei for dinner.”

”Sure, leave it to me!”

Hearing Midori speak, Kei Shidou nodded as well, quickly washed her hands, picked up the plates, and headed towards the dining table. Meanwhile, Midori left the kitchen and walked toward the VIP lounge at the station occupied by Fang Zheng and Little Hei.

”Brother Fang Zheng, Sister Little Hei, it’s time for dinner...”

Just as Midori arrived at the VIP lounge door, about to knock, suddenly, a scream from Little Hei came from inside.

”Ugh... Big Brother, no, you can’t do that there!”

Huh? What’s going on?

Upon hearing that voice, Midori was stunned for a moment, then swiftly dashed to the door, her cat ears perked high and pressed against it. Soon, she heard Fang Zheng’s voice from inside.

”Hehehe, I did say you couldn’t escape the palm of my hand, little guy. How about it? Ready to admit defeat?”

”I’m not so easily defeated! And Brother, you’re really crossing the line doing this to a kid like me!”

”It was you who teased me first! You made your choice, so you must face the consequences!!”

”Ah, no! I really can’t! It’s too big, if it goes in, I’ll die, I really will die!”

”Face your fate, it’s too late for regrets now!”

”Aaaaaah, my, my baby’s room, to barge in so roughly... I’m dying, dying, I’m really going to die! No, can’t do that——!”

What on earth are these two doing?

Listening to the woeful screams of Little Hei through the crack of the door, Midori blinked curiously. Although she didn’t quite understand what the two were saying, for some reason, upon hearing Little Hei’s screams, her heart seemed to start pounding frantically as if she were both excited and nervous...

Thinking of this, Midori gritted her teeth and then forcefully pushed open the door.

”Brother Fang Zheng, Sister Little Hei, it’s time for dinner, you two ......”

”Boom!!”

Before Midori could finish her sentence, she heard a loud explosion, followed by Little Hei dropping her personal terminal and rolling on the ground, clutching her head.

”Aaaaaah, I lost again! Brother, can’t you go easy on me? You always bomb my base first, is it fun to bully the weak?”

”Of course, it’s fun. Who was it just now who vowed to make me kneel and beg for mercy?”

”Ugh... Brother, you won’t get a girlfriend if you keep being so stubborn with girls!”

”Not at all, I’m quite popular with the ladies.”

”Why?”

”Simple, because I’m handsome. When you’re handsome, all your faults are considered personality. But if I were a fat otaku, even if I tried to please you, would you be happy then?”

”Ugh........”

At this, Little Hei crossed her arms and frowned. Soon, in her mind, a vision of a 300-pound otaku sitting on the couch, game controller in hand and smiling sheepishly at her emerged.

”Little Hei is so awesome, Brother is no match at all. Ah, I lost again.....”

”...Ugh, I feel so sick.”

”Right?”

Seeing Little Hei’s resigned face, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but laugh. In a way, Fang Zheng felt he got along best with Little Hei. Although Fumie Busei and Natsuse were also close to him, perhaps due to their upbringing, their interactions always carried a careful, almost servant-master like quality.

But with Little Hei, there were no such concerns; on the contrary, Little Hei acted more like a real sister. They could joyfully game together, tease each other, throw friendly jibes, and she didn’t hold back even though he was her MASTER. Instead, Little Hei would immediately pounce and cuddle whenever she felt like it, which, in a way, was much closer to Fang Zheng’s idea of a sibling relationship.

”Midori, what is it?”

That moment, Fang Zheng also noticed the cat-eared maid at the door, quickly turned off his personal terminal and greeted Midori, who soon snapped back to reality.

”Brother Fang Zheng, Sister Little Hei, it’s time for dinner.”

”Is it that time already?”

Heeding Midori’s reminder, Fang Zheng and Little Hei realized it was already evening, and the sun was about to set.

”Then, let’s take a break and go have dinner...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng stood up, but just as he and Little Hei were about to leave the room, suddenly, a loud dull noise erupted.

”Boom!!”

What now?

Upon hearing this noise, everyone was startled.

What’s going on now?
