Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 798: Chapter 797: The So-Called Reinforcement Trick...

”Zombies that can talk... like you?”

Facing the inquiry from the blonde zombie, the purple-clad girl paused, then she and the other three exchanged glances before they shook their heads after a moment of silence.

”Sorry, we haven’t seen any...”

”Tch, another miss?”

Hearing the purple-clad girl’s response, the blonde zombie discontentedly reached up to scratch her head, and aside from her somewhat terrifying face, she now seemed more like a delinquent girl.

”So I told you, Little Saki, your method simply isn’t reliable!”

At this moment, another zombie, who looked like a child around eleven or twelve years old, couldn’t help but speak up.

”What’s sneaking into a zombie horde to quietly slip in and find people? It still turned out useless, didn’t it?”

”Stop it, runt, what could I do, given how we look now? Do you think we could infiltrate the Umbrella building? Do you want to be dissected or dismembered?”

”I don’t want either!!”

”Alright, you two stop arguing.”

Just then, the purple-clad girl saw another zombie step forward and stop the quarrel. Then she raised her head, looking towards her group. Although she understood that these zombies seemed to have no hostility towards them, the harrowing appearance of her companions still made her feel somewhat tense.

”So, what about these ladies?”

”Let’s rescue them and go.”

The blonde zombie actually had an answer.

It’s not easy to encounter survivors; we can’t just watch them die here, so we...”

”Boom!!”

However, before the blonde zombie could finish speaking, the firmly closed doors were suddenly split apart, and soon after, they saw a woman wearing a black bodysuit and wielding a katana walk in, her eyes coldly fixed on everyone.

”It’s you again! Always haunting us!”

Seeing the woman in black, the blonde zombie screamed, then pulled a crowbar from behind her, aiming at the black-clothed woman.

”I won’t be so easily killed by you this time, runt. Take the others and get out of here! Duohui, go bite her!!”

”Bite her———!!”

”Awooo...!!”

Accompanied by a scream, the black-haired zombie in the robe of cultivation immediately lunged like a hunting dog, mouth wide open, biting towards the purple-haired woman. The purple-haired woman quickly stepped back and raised her katana, suddenly slashing downward at the black-haired zombie!

”I won’t let you succeed!!”

Although the purple-haired woman’s speed and strength had reached the human limit, as a zombie, the black-haired one’s strength and reaction were equally matched. As the purple-haired woman swung her sword down, the blonde zombie’s crowbar also swept across, blocking the purple-haired woman’s strike. At the same time, the black-haired zombie rushed onto the purple-haired woman’s body, the powerful impact slightly jolting her. Seizing the opportunity, the black-haired zombie also used her arms and legs to firmly grasp her opponent.

If it were an ordinary human, they would have been overwhelmed by such assaults, but the purple-haired woman merely held her katana against the blonde zombie’s crowbar, then glanced at the black-haired zombie embracing her, and suddenly drove her knee into the black-haired zombie’s abdomen. The next moment, the black-haired zombie emitted an unclear cry, and was then kicked flying.

”Duohui! You jerk, looking for death!!”

Watching her companion being kicked away, the blonde zombie roared, her crowbar swinging forcefully straight at the purple-haired girl’s head. But as the blonde zombie swung the crowbar, the purple-haired girl suddenly ducked down, then burst forward in a sprint to the blonde zombie’s front and fiercely swung her blade forward. The heavy handle gripped by the purple-haired woman struck the blonde zombie’s chest, pushing her backwards. Then, the long blade swept forward, and with a flash of the blade, the blonde zombie’s head was immediately chopped off.

However, at the same moment... the crowbar in the blonde zombie’s right hand crashed down, striking the purple-haired woman’s head directly, tilting it to a ninety-degree angle. The head that fell to the ground started to laugh uproariously.

”Don’t underestimate zombies, you jerk! How about that? Tasting defeat now, aren’t you!”

”......”

However, the purple-haired woman didn’t fall as the blonde zombie had expected. Her head shivered slightly, then incredibly returned to its original position. Afterward, the purple-haired woman rotated her head, coldly looking at the headless zombie in front of her, before raising her weapon and forcefully swinging it forward!

”Clang!!”

The swinging blade was blocked once again, this time by the kimono-clad zombie previously seen. She held a short blade in her right hand, smiling cheerfully at the purple-haired woman.

”Your swordsmanship is indeed extraordinary... however, during the Meiji restoration period, I too had witnessed numerous duels between master swordsmen...”

”......”

Looking at the kimono-clad zombie in front of her, the purple-haired woman’s eyes finally showed some change, then she fiercely raised her long sword and launched another attack.

”Quick, this way!!”

While the three zombies and the purple-haired woman were engaged in combat, the others followed the lead of the little zombie and left through the back door of the store, quickly running toward the other side of the street. Fortunately, it seemed that the main zombie horde had already left the area, so they encountered only a few scattered zombies along the way.

”Where are we going now?”

As they were running, the short-haired girl asked the little zombie in front of her, and the little zombie replied cheerfully.

”We’ll take this way. There’s an underground passage here; we sneaked in through here previously. It seems to be a tunnel Umbrella used to transport zombies. But since the zombies have been released to the town, this tunnel should be safe. Just follow this tunnel, and you should be able to get out safely... Watch out!”

While speaking, the little zombie seemed to sense something, hurriedly pushed the short-haired girl away, and at the moment the short-haired girl fell backward, the wall next to where she had been standing suddenly burst open. Following this, a huge TANK roared as it burst out from the wall, colliding with the little zombie and sending her flying.

The sight of the little zombie screaming as she spun 900 degrees in the air before crashing into a utility pole on the other side was witnessed. The tremendous impact broke her in half, and she collapsed on the ground...

”Ahhh... such bad luck, why is it always me? I’m not Junko!”

While complaining, the little zombie waved her arms frantically and started to gather her body. However, suddenly, accompanied by barking sounds, several zombie dogs appeared and blocked their path. One of the zombie dogs bit the little zombie’s right leg.

”Wait, let go of me, I don’t taste good at all!”

As the zombie dogs gathered around, the little zombie’s face turned pale, but before she could finish speaking, the other zombie dogs also pounced, pinning her to the ground and fiercely biting her limbs.

”Let go of me, let me go! You stupid dogs!”

Clearly lacking in combat ability, the little zombie could only flail her arms and roar in an attempt to escape the attack of the zombie dogs. However, it was then that a ghastly scene occurred.

Perhaps enraged by the little zombie’s screams, one of the zombie dogs suddenly dashed forward, opened its huge mouth, and aimed between the legs of the little zombie... and bit down!

”Wait! You can’t bite there, not there ah ah ah ah give it back to me, you can’t eat that ah ah ah ah!!”

At this point, the girls had no time to pay attention to the tragedy of the little zombie, as the huge TANK was also slowly emerging from the ruins, blocking their way. Its crimson eyes stared coldly at them. Lowering its body, it let out a deep roar.

”...Quickly go, Miji, Yuri, Yuki.”

At this moment, however, the purple-clad girl calmed down, reached out her hand, and stood in front of the three girls.

”I’ll draw its attention. You all run quickly!”

”Sister Ci!?”

Hearing the purple-clad girl speak made the three of them incredibly surprised.

”No, we should go together!”

”There’s no time. You are my students, and I am your teacher, it’s only right for me to protect you. Now go, quickly!”

”Roar————!”

Before the purple-clad girl could finish speaking, the TANK roared and charged directly at her!

Is this the end?

Watching the huge creature before her, the purple-clad girl closed her eyes in despair.

But just then, suddenly, a voice rang out by her ear.

”You creature, get away from Sister Ci right now ah ah ah ah ah!!”

”Huh?”

Surprised, the purple-clad girl opened her eyes, and then saw a girl with pigtails suddenly leap from the air. She roared and forcefully swung the shovel in her hands, striking the TANK heavily on its head!

”Boom!”

With a dull booming sound, the TANK was knocked to the ground!

”You, you are...”

Looking at the familiar figure before her, the purple-clad girl didn’t know what to say. She certainly knew who it was, but... how could she possibly be here? Was she hallucinating?

”Phew...”

Meanwhile, the pigtailed girl holding the shovel also breathed a sigh of relief, then turned around, looked at the people behind her, and smiled.

”Long time no see. How have you all been?”

”...Walnut?!”
