Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 780: Chapter 779: This Is Really Terrifying When You Think About It...

With the clues provided by Kei Shidou, Fang Zheng, using his personal terminal, finally found a lead... Of course, he didn’t find anything under the name ”Rotten Stinky,” but he did find an underground idol group called ”Farron Xiuxiu.” From the audio and video circulated online, it was clear that this was the ”Rotten Stinky” referred to.

”Hmm... from the information searched online, this group was formed five months ago... just a local idol group from Saga...”

”Mr. Fang Zheng, is there something wrong with this group?”

Upon returning to the base, seeing Fang Zheng earnestly searching for information about ”Farron Xiuxiu,” Rea and Walnut were curious and wondered why Fang Zheng suddenly cared about such a local idol group at this time. But Fang Zheng didn’t immediately answer Rea’s question; instead, he turned to look at Midori, who was sitting next to him, intently listening to music through her headphones.

”Midori, how is it?”

”Ah, Brother Fang Zheng.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Midori hurriedly took off her headphones and nodded.

”The same, the voices I hear from these video records also feel like that.”

”I see...”

With Midori’s response, Fang Zheng narrowed his eyes and began to think carefully. Walnut looked alternately at Midori and Fang Zheng, furrowing her brows.

”What exactly are you two being so secretive about?”

”It’s simple.”

Fang Zheng looked at Walnut, then raised a finger.

”Midori found that the two of you have a special feel to your voices, different from ordinary people, it’s a lifeless feel...”

”...I know that, but what then?”

Hearing this, Walnut appeared somewhat irritable, Rea, being more timid, thus more accepting of the fact that they had become zombies. But for Walnut, who was cheerful and extroverted, accepting that she was no longer human but a vampire who would need to feed on blood from then on was not so easy.

”Don’t rush, the interesting part is yet to come.”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng gave a slight smile and then pointed toward the CD player Midori was holding.

”She got the same feeling from these songs and live performance videos.”

”What if...!!!”

Facing Fang Zheng’s response, Walnut seemed not particularly concerned, but she was suddenly taken aback before she could finish her sentence. At the same time, Rea seemed to have realized something, and couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, do you mean... that the people in that group are also zombies like us?”

”As of now it’s not certain, but the likelihood is high. Not only that, look at their debut time. They debuted about five months ago... and this crisis has erupted... for just over a month now...”

At that moment, everyone suddenly understood Fang Zheng’s implication, and Little Hei blinked.

”So, big brother, you mean... even before this crisis erupted, there were zombies transformed like Sister Rea and Sister Walnut?”

”Yes.”

While speaking, Fang Zheng pulled up a video; soon, on the projection screen in front of everyone, the girls were once again seen hopping and jumping energetically on stage.

”Not only that, but look closely, their appearances and actions are almost indistinguishable from normal people. What does this imply? If these girls are really the same as Rea and Sister Walnut, then it means that this crisis has clearly been brewing for a long time! It has even turned humans into zombies already! I think these zombie girls must be linked to this Resident Evil in some way!”

After listening to Fang Zheng’s analysis, everyone was taken aback, and Kei Shidou turned pale as if she had thought of something.

”Could it be, could it be that this idol group is the source of the disaster? Are they the ones spreading the virus, creating all this?”

”That possibility seems unlikely; the group Farron Xiuxiu only debuted five months ago and barely left Saga. And even if they were the source of the virus in Saga, it couldn’t possibly affect the entire world.”

Fang Zheng shook his head, denying Kei Shidou’s speculation.

”But perhaps we could obtain some information from them to find out the cause of this crisis outbreak. If they really are zombies, then this biological disaster obviously wouldn’t have much effect on them. Moreover, considering their singing seems to have some effect on the zombies, I am more inclined to believe that they should be safe.” ƒгeewebnovёl_com

”So... are we going to Saga?”

Listining to this, Kei Shidou seemed uneasy. She had never left Yokohama except for a middle school field trip, and Saga was in Kyushu, which meant crossing almost half of Japan from Yokohama. Of course, on normal days this wouldn’t be a problem, but in these circumstances, getting to Saga was not going to be so easy.

”Hmm, that is indeed a problem...”

Currently, there were practically no survivors left in Yokohama City. Despite broadcasting for so many days, Fang Zheng and his group hadn’t received any response; they had only managed to save two zombies... This meant that Yokohama Station no longer held any strategic value. But accommodating Kei Shidou, Fang Zheng, Walnut, and Rea—eight people in total—was clearly not feasible with just one vehicle.

If the system had randomly chosen a Fleet Girl to follow Fang Zheng here, then he wouldn’t have to worry about transportation, for having a Cosmic Warship meant he could go wherever he wanted. But now... it was indeed a bit of a headache...

”Um...”

While Fang Zheng was thinking, Rea suddenly shyly raised her hand.

”If possible, please use the Sanhua family’s yacht.”

”...A yacht?”

”Yes.”

As Fang Zheng looked toward her, Rea nodded timidly.

”My father has a yacht docked at a private pier in Yokohama. If we use that yacht, it should be quite convenient to reach Saga...”

”Then, let’s settle on that.”

Without hesitation, Fang Zheng made up his mind. Indeed, just as Rea had suggested, a yacht could basically solve most of their current problems. Most importantly, with the sea as a natural barrier, they could completely isolate themselves from the zombie threat, and using the yacht to travel to various places was relatively easy.

Of course, there were some issues—normally, such yachts require meticulous maintenance, and since the disaster struck, it was obvious no one was available to perform these tasks. But for Fang Zheng, this was not a difficult obstacle to overcome. With his Time Manipulation ability, he could restore the yacht to mint condition with just a push of a button, so there was no need to worry about these minor issues.

Indeed, being rich is truly amazing!
