Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 793: Chapter 792: To Save the Heavenly Dao Palace, the Zombies Decide to Become.........

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, the three people, including Minamoto Sakura, looked slightly nervous; they exchanged glances, and then Minamoto Sakura shook her head.

”I, I don’t know...”

”You don’t know?”

”Yes.”

At this moment, the black-haired zombie girl, Mizuno Ai, also spoke up.

”We all awakened not long ago, honestly; we only remember who we are, how we died, but as for how we were resurrected and turned into zombies... I’m afraid only that person knows.”

”That person?”

At hearing this, Fang Zheng was momentarily perplexed.

”Who?”

”Mr. Kotaro, he is our manager, and he’s the one who gathered us together... At least, that’s what he claims...”

At this point, Minamoto Sakura hastily joined in and explained. It was then that Fang Zheng learned that, before this, the girls before him were mindless zombies. Minamoto Sakura was the first to awaken, and then this man named Kotaro inexplicably pushed her onto the stage to perform as an idol. At the time, others were still in their zombie states without any self-awareness, wandering around chaotically, trying to bite anyone on sight.

However, after the first performance, these zombies gradually regained their consciousness, and then... under the leadership of the man named Kotaro, they began a campaign of ”stepping up to save Saga by becoming idols.”

Frankly, Fang Zheng was utterly bewildered and had no idea how to react, and everyone present, including Little Hei, was left speechless... Zombies were resurrected just to revitalize Saga as idols? What kind of messed-up plot was this? What sort of ridiculous creation was this???

Furthermore, even more bizarrely, according to Minamoto Sakura, their times of death varied widely. Minamoto Sakura and Mizuno Ai died ten years ago, while Junko Konno was an idol from the 1980s. Not only that, according to Minamoto Sakura, there was another zombie girl called Xiwu who was an Oiran who died during the Meiji Restoration!

This...

Fang Zheng genuinely did not know what to say. Dying seven or eight years ago might still be understandable, possibly preserved in some hospital morgue, but the 1980s... how to explain that?

And the Meiji Restoration... The Meiji Restoration has been over for more than a century! Even if there had been a body, it would have decomposed into fertilizer by now; how could it possibly have been preserved until now!

Of course, he said this; however, Fang Zheng himself also had some vague guesses about the origins of these zombie girls.

Next, well...

”What do you plan to do in the future?”

”This...”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Minamoto Sakura and Mizuno Ai looked at each other, evidently, they too did not know what to do next. Before, they only focused on escaping from Hive Base, but now that they had escaped... they didn’t know what to do anymore.

If they previously had a goal of revitalizing Saga, now they didn’t even know what to do; looking at the current situation, let alone Saga, probably the entire Japan... no, the entire world might have been nearly destroyed, so what would be the point in them continuing as idols?

And observing the zombie girls before him, Fang Zheng smiled slightly.

”If you’re unsure, how about you consider my suggestion?”

”Mr. Fang Zheng? Do you have any suggestions?”

”It’s simple,”

Looking at Minamoto Sakura, Fang Zheng spread his hands.

”How about you come to Heavenly Dao Palace and become idols?”

”...Huh?”

Upon hearing this, everyone was stunned.

What was this move?

In fact, Fang Zheng also had this idea on the way back, until now, the basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter had been met for the residents within the Heavenly Dao Palace. However, entertainment culture was still very scarce, and at the moment Fang Zheng mainly satisfied their needs by buying children-oriented shows and cartoons from Pitch Black World and World of Shana.

But clearly, these were not enough, and after all, those pieces of entertainment were from other worlds, Fang Zheng couldn’t possibly bring the stars of those worlds to Heavenly Dao Palace for concerts. Moreover, having traveled through so many worlds, he had not acquired any subordinates or Summoning Stones that possessed traits of a ”singer” or ”idol.”

But now, it looked good, this world was definitely going to be burned by Fang Zheng, and having listened to their self-introductions just now, he realized that this group was full of tough characters; Junko Konno was a legendary idol from the Showa Era, Mizuno Ai was an immovable C-position idol after the year 2000, and Lily Hoshikawa was a genius child star who monopolized TV morning prime time.

Apart from that, they had the skills and the experience, not only could they act as idols themselves, but they could also serve as teachers for other students. Right now, Heavenly Dao Palace was short on teaching staff, especially in this area, which was why Fang Zheng hadn’t redeemed a specialized school yet—he still held onto a St. Cherine Music Academy that he hadn’t redeemed because he couldn’t find qualified teachers!

”Currently, Heavenly Dao Palace lacks sufficient entertainment programs, we don’t even have our own idol group yet. If you are willing, you could join Heavenly Dao Palace and continue your performances there... What do you think?”

”This...”

Upon hearing this unexpected invitation, both Minamoto Sakura and Mizuno Ai were stunned, and while they didn’t know what to say, suddenly, another voice spoke up.

”Aren’t you afraid?”

Upon hearing this voice, Fang Zheng turned his head and saw that it was Junko Konno, who had been squatting in the corner drawing circles... Looking despondent, almost mushrooms were sprouting from her!

At this moment, she was staring at Fang Zheng, her eyes filled with scrutiny and unease.

”We are zombies! Aren’t you worried about that? And... maybe we are the ones who turned the world into this state!”

Upon hearing this, not only Minamoto Sakura and Mizuno Ai but also Walnut and Rea trembled, their eyes wide as they looked at her. To be fair, Junko Konno’s guess wasn’t impossible, considering that they awakened, debuted after five months, and then the entire world erupted into a Resident Evil crisis, and these zombie girls had no clue about how they had awakened.

Thinking about it, maybe it was because of them that the Resident Evil crisis erupted in this world! After all, nothing had happened in this world for so many years before their awakening, so how could the entire world be destroyed within a year of their awakening? Could there really be no connection?

If that was the case, then... wouldn’t they be the prime culprits in destroying this world?

”Of course, I’m not worried,”

However, faced with Junko Konno’s questioning, Fang Zheng just yawned, remaining very calm in his response.

”Don’t worry, no matter how this crisis started, it has nothing to do with you... I obviously can’t say that, but at least I can assure you, you’re not the source of the biochemical virus.”
