Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 787: Chapter 786: Walk in Openly, Live Righteously

Fang Zheng, of course, didn’t know that at the dock, there was an unfortunate soul eagerly looking forward to their return. What Rea and the others might think was not Fang Zheng’s concern, but since Umbrella Corporation had set their sights on him, it was only polite to respond in kind. Naturally, Fang Zheng also wanted to give a little something back to them.

At this moment, he had already hacked into Umbrella’s satellite using his personal terminal and began to reverse trace these guys’ tracks.

It had to be admitted that Umbrella’s confidentiality efforts were quite impressive. Most of their secret materials were physically isolated, leaving Fang Zheng with very limited information he could find on the external network. However, even so, he still found a hint of a clue...

”The Saga Project?”

Looking at the information displayed on his personal terminal, Fang Zheng reached out and touched his chin. This was one of the most frequently occurring terms he could find within Umbrella’s external encryption network. As for the content of the project, of course, Umbrella wouldn’t be foolish enough to make such information public, but Fang Zheng had still managed to find a manual in the communication network with instructions like ”Regarding the containment, transport, and corresponding strategies of Saga Project materials.”

It seemed that this so-called ”Saga Project” must revolve around some kind of research. Although Fang Zheng was still not clear on the specifics, he had successfully pinpointed its location in the outskirts of Kashima City, Saga Prefecture... underground.

Standing in the wilderness, looking at the empty house before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help shaking his head. From the outside, it appeared to be a typical suburban Japanese residence, but the scans had revealed a huge hive-like complex underneath it—almost identical to what Fang Zheng had seen in the movies.

As for whether there was a Red Empress inside, only heaven knew.

”So, Little Hei, Tina, get ready... and...”

At this point, Fang Zheng glanced at Rea, who stood beside him, holding a sword in her arms.

”Rea, are you really planning to come along?”

”Of course, Mr. Fang Zheng.”

Faced with Fang Zheng’s question, Rea nodded her head.

”I think I should be able to help a little...”

”Uh... it’s not really about whether you can help or not...”

Looking at Rea before him, Fang Zheng was somewhat scratching his head. He hadn’t expected this young lady to be so open-minded. While Kei Shidou and Walnut were still debating whether to fight their own kin, Rea had already come over with her weapon asking if she could help.

The idea of a docile Japanese young lady who seems so agreeable on the surface was good, but upon closer consideration, it was quite dangerous. She’d cook for you when you were hungry, fetch water when you were thirsty, and warm your bed when you were sleepy... all good things, of course.

But it was problematic if she went as far as handing you a knife and even offering to help when you wanted to kill someone.

Little Hei and Tina, one a Heroic Spirit and the other a child of obstruction, had both been through plenty of battles, which was manageable. But was it really wise for a pampered young lady to so quickly decide to take a stand and prepare to kill?

”Alright, you can come too.”

Fang Zheng wasn’t the type to be overly sentimental. He only thought about it briefly before nodding in agreement. Sometimes battle was inevitable, and since Rea had made up her mind, it was a good opportunity to see just how strong her resolve was.

”Let’s go.”

So without saying much more, Fang Zheng simply waved to the others and then turned to walk toward the small house not far away.

This house seemed to have been abandoned for a long time from the outside, at least judging by the ivy crawling up the walls and the rusty, chain-locked gate, which suggested that this place must have been empty for a long time, and even zombies didn’t seem interested in the ghastly spot. But Fang Zheng knew all this was camouflaged; hidden among the ivy were several cameras, and inside the mailbox that looked like it was about to fall, there was a retinal scanner... Really, Umbrella, you should stick to civil engineering.

”How are we going to get in? Big brother?”

Spinning the short blade in her hand, Little Hei curiously asked.

”Are we going to sneak in?”

”Of course not.”

In response to Little Hei’s inquiry, Fang Zheng shook his head.

”I am a Paladin, upright and honorable in my actions. Sneaking around isn’t my style. We’ll go in through the front door! Let these Umbrella guys know that we, the Heavenly Dao Palace, are not some pushovers to be trifled with!”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng strode over to the cabin’s entrance, extended his right foot, and with a forceful kick to the rusty door, it flew off its hinges with a ”bang.” Fang Zheng then marched right in.

”I, Fang Zheng of Heavenly Dao Palace, am here! Thieves of the Umbrella Corporation, come out and face death’s embrace!!”

”Haah... Big Brother is being foolish again.”

Watching Fang Zheng’s actions, Little Hei helplessly reached up to press her forehead and sighed. Being around Fang Zheng for so long, she was used to his occasional fits of madness, but she said nothing. Holding a dagger, she, along with Tina and Rea, followed Fang Zheng into the room.

The whole cabin was deathly silent, with nothing but floating dust. There wasn’t a cockroach in sight, let alone someone to greet them. But this was to be expected, so Fang Zheng wasn’t concerned. He led the other three straight to the living room, then reached out to activate his personal terminal, pressing into the air. A series of faint mechanical sounds followed and the floor trembled slightly. In the next moment, the entire living room transformed into a large elevator, taking Fang Zheng and his companions deep underground...

Meanwhile, in the Hive below, there was chaos.

The Hive manager could’ve never imagined that the person closely monitored by the Japan branch would come knocking on their door. Even more unimaginable for him was, as he deliberated whether to report this information to his superiors or capture the intruders, they had already entered the Hive.

”What’s going on? Who activated the elevator?!”

Witnessing this scene, the Hive manager was furious. He might not understand what was so special about these young individuals, but he received instructions from the branch that they were to be considered the most dangerous with an SSS rank! The Hive manager had intended to keep them outside, maybe send someone to probe their strength, but somebody was too eager to let them in!

”It wasn’t us! Sir!”

At the Hive manager’s roar, the technicians in white lab coats were sweating bullets.

”Our mainframe was hacked! The intruders have seized control of the lowest level of access permissions!!”

”What?!!”

So shocked he almost leapt to the ceiling, the Hive manager exclaimed.

”How is that possible? Our mainframe was hacked? That’s unscientific... Contact the branch immediately, request backup! Hurry!”

”Ding ding———!!”

But just as the manager finished speaking, the screen flashed with large warning texts.

”The Hive’s external communications have been completely severed!!”

”Damn it!!”

If the Hive manager had any doubts that their mainframe had been compromised, now he was utterly convinced.

”Sound the alarm, notify the security troops to prepare for combat! And...”

”———!!”

But this time, before the Hive manager could finish his sentence, a rapid alarm sounded. Then, an emotionless electronic voice resonated from the speakers.

”Imminent closure and isolation of the main area, all research personnel must immediately return to the control room... Repeat, imminent closure and isolation of the main area, all research personnel must immediately return to the control room......”

Hearing this, the Hive manager’s face went pale as ash.

This is... big trouble!!
