Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 766: Chapter 765: Zombie Girl Development Plan

The entire world was a vivid red.

The ocean beneath his feet had been dyed with blood, and the sky was smeared in darkness. Standing here, Fang Zheng could hear the world wailing, moaning. Countless bodies undulated in the sea of blood, like clusters of seaweed drifting with the waves.

This world was dying, and yet life would not end.

Fang Zheng lowered his head to look at his body––scales emerged on his skin, covering Fang Zheng’s body, as vast power burned and expanded, making his body grow even more massive. In the blink of an eye, a Giant Dragon appeared between heaven and earth, and with its appearance, the red seawater began to move, turning into raging waves that burst forth from all directions toward the Giant Dragon.

”Boom!!”

Waves hundreds of meters high rose up to the sky and then heavily crashed down, completely engulfing the Giant Dragon. But the next moment, accompanied by bursting sounds and steaming mist, scorching flames turned into a pillar of fire that shot into the sky, instantly sweeping across everything...

”Whoo....”

Fang Zheng opened his eyes, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling above him.

”This dream doesn’t bode well...”

While recalling the dream he had just had, Fang Zheng shook his head. It was not just a simple nightmare; Fang Zheng could feel that this dream was likely related to how to solve this world’s dilemma. However... what exactly were those mountains of corpses and seas of blood?

Could there still be something in this world that could pose a threat to him?

”Hoo... you awake? Big brother?”

”Hmm... hmm?”

Upon hearing the voice coming from beside him, Fang Zheng was startled for a moment. When he turned his head, he saw Little Hei poking her head from his side, watching him with a mischievous grin.

”Little Hei? What are you doing here?”

”I wanted to sleep with big brother! Midori gets to sleep with you, so I thought it would be no problem for me too. Having two cute girls sleeping with you, big brother must be really happy, hehehe...”

”Little devil in disguise.”

Looking at Little Hei’s proud smile, Fang Zheng reached out and patted her head.

”Alright, time to get up!”

After breakfast, everyone once again entered the warehouse storing Sanhua Remi. Surprisingly, the Zombie girl still sat dully on the chair, appearing like a lifeless doll. However, this time, the Zombie girl’s neck was not drooping to her chest as before; Fang Zheng had used his ability to manipulate time to return the Zombie girl’s neck to its pre-broken state... Unfortunately, Fang Zheng’s powers weren’t able to turn her back into a living person.

Fang Zheng sat down in front of the Zombie girl, looking at her as he spoke.

”Good morning.”

”..........”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s greeting, the Zombie girl slightly turned her head, her dull eyes shifting towards Fang Zheng, and then she opened her mouth.

”Gree... greetings...”

”You are... Miss Sanhua Remi, right?”

”..........”

This time, the Zombie girl nodded slightly.

”Yes...”

”Good, now, I have a few questions I’d like to ask you.”

As Fang Zheng spoke, he took out a pencil and a notebook. He first pointed at the pencil and then said,

”Do you know what this is?”

”..........”

Facing Fang Zheng’s question, Remi widened her eyes, staring at the pencil in Fang Zheng’s hand, her brows furrowed as if struggling to remember something. Then she stuttered,

”...Pe, pencil...”

”And this?”

”...Note, note... notebook...” freēNovelFire.com

At this point, Remi clenched her fists and trembled, seemingly trying hard to recall the name of the item Fang Zheng was holding, but she couldn’t remember it.

”Note taking... paper...”

”This is called a notebook.”

Fang Zheng tapped the notebook in his hand, and Rea thought for a moment, then nodded.

”Notebook.”

”So, what is one plus one?”

”Two...”

”Where is the capital of America?”

”...Washington...”

”What is Brother Fang Zheng doing?”

Watching Fang Zheng talk to the zombie girl in front of him like she was a child, Tina blinked her eyes and curiously looked at Natsuse beside her. However, Natsuse shook her head, clearly also unsure of what was happening.

”So, do you remember... where you went to school?”

”...”

Upon hearing this question, Rea furrowed her brows again, struggling to recall.

”I was at... a... all... girls... schoo... school...”

The more she spoke, the more anxious she became, just like before, struggling to express herself properly with words.

”School... a place to study... very big...”

”That’s a school.”

”School...!”

The zombie girl nodded vigorously again, repeating Fang Zheng’s words.

”Yes... school... I went to school...”

”You didn’t eat.”

Fang Zheng put away the notebook, then glanced at the plate beside him, a breakfast Natsuse had prepared for Rea consisting of simple bread, sausage, and eggs. However, the zombie girl hadn’t touched it—or rather, she hadn’t even touched it.

”Aren’t you hungry?”

”...”

This time, Rea didn’t speak, unsure if she didn’t understand or didn’t want to answer.

”Alright, thank you for cooperating. Wait here a while, I’ll come back for you.”

After saying this, Fang Zheng turned and led the others out of the room. As he closed the door, Little Hei immediately asked eagerly.

”Big brother, how’s the situation?”

”Hmm... just as I thought, not so good.”

”Not so good?”

”Yes.”

Fang Zheng nodded, then turned to look through the window at Rea, who was still sitting silently in the chair, motionless.

”Although I’ve healed her physical injuries, the internal erosion isn’t so easy to stop. As I mentioned before, the virus and her own body have reached a delicate balance, like a tug of war, both sides equally matched. But if this continues, she will gradually be eroded by the virus and lose herself once again.”

”What should we do then?”

Hearing this, everyone anxiously looked at Fang Zheng, who shrugged his shoulders.

”For now, the best approach is to help her remember who she is. Only when she reconfirms her self-awareness... might she be able to control the further erosion of the virus. That’s why I plan to take her to Sanhua Girls’ Academy to see if...”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng again looked at the zombie girl sitting motionlessly in the chair.

”...we might find some clues.”
