The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 949: Chapter 949: To Choose a Place That’s Exactly the Same

Myles Sullivan was more wily and hypocritical. Although he himself was very dissatisfied with Ghania Quinlan’s performance after she arrived in Beijing, especially when he saw Nathalie Quinlan surpassing Ghania in every aspect, and with Mr. Zachmann officially acknowledging Nathalie back into the Zachmann Family, he grew even more regretful of his initial investment decision, having chosen the wrong person.

But after all, as a man with broader horizons, he knew that once a choice had been made, the Sullivan Family had indeed chosen Ghania over Nathalie, and regret was useless.

So when he saw Ghania calling for him, although he frowned slightly, he still squeezed out a shallow smile, and said in a gentle and elegant manner, ”What is it, Ghania? Do you need something from me?”

Ghania, clenching her hands, breathed a slight sigh of relief in this low-pressure atmosphere and quickly said, ”My teacher said that the trophy I won at the Grammy Award is about to be delivered. He’s planning to fly to Beijing this week and make time to hold a mentorship celebration for me.”

Logically, after the scandal of being publicly humiliated twice by Lighten Chaser, Ghania should not have been eligible for the award. However, the plagiarism was hotly debated mainly domestically, and not known overseas. Plus, she apologized quickly, and the new arrangement had not been officially released, being merely a photo posted unilaterally on the International Piano Association’s official website.

For these reasons, the plagiarism incident did not affect the awards Ghania had won overseas while competing under the guidance of Steven.

The award held significant weight in the piano world. With a reputable teacher like Steven backing her up, and with her own talents and connections, Ghania managed to clinch the best rookie golden award. The award was substantial enough to allow her to rebound from the scandal.

Previously, without the trophy in hand, she had been anxious.

She had just received a phone call from her teacher, rushed down to inform Myles Sullivan and the others about the matter.

As expected.

Myles Sullivan’s initially aloof and perfunctory attitude changed noticeably, his demeanor softened considerably: ”The trophy is coming?”

Seeing his expression soften, Ghania internally sighed with relief, nodded, and said, ”Yes, it’s coming down. My teacher said he will bring it back for me.”

A proper smile finally appeared on Myles Sullivan’s serious face as he looked up at her, his tone gentler, ”That’s great news! Should we indeed celebrate. Is Master Steven planning to hold a public mentorship celebration for you?”

”My teacher said that since he’s taken me as his student, it’s only right to invite a few people to share a meal together,” Ghania said modestly.

In fact, during this time, she had been painstakingly trying to ingratiate herself with Steven, even convincing her father, Jeff Quinlan, to splurge on a grand piano worth millions as a gift, presumably hitting the mark with her teacher, thus leading to this mentorship celebration.

But she couldn’t possibly tell Myles Sullivan that – she had to attribute it to the fact that Steven valued her as a student and wanted to hold the mentorship banquet!

Myles Sullivan’s demeanor improved further, finally looking at her properly, ”Since you’ve secured your trophy, this mentorship celebration should be done well. I’ll see if I’m available that day; if I am, I’ll go early. Have you set a place for the dinner yet?”

”It’s not set yet.” Ghania, sensible and understanding, replied: ”I wanted to consult with my uncle.”

Thinking of the location the Zachmann Family had previously chosen for their academic celebration at the Imperial Hotel, and considering that Ghania was his niece after all, Myles Sullivan steeled his heart and said: ”Since it’s a mentorship celebration, let it be at the Imperial Hotel. That place has the high standing to match Master Steven’s reputation.”

Ghania’s face showed a delighted smile, immediately responding warmly, ”Thank you, uncle!”
