The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 938: Chapter 938: You freshmen also use ins

”...” Amadeus Yancey’s eyes darkened, and he stopped asking further.

He was just curious whether Master Carlo and Evelyn Quarles would be driven insane if they heard Nathalie Quinlan’s response.

Nathalie Quinlan and a bunch of people went to eat hot pot.

The Medical Association’s celebration banquet was missing one of its main characters, but that didn’t affect the party in a banquet hall at the Imperial Hotel, which was attended by everyone from the Medical Association.

Some of the participating students also went.

Compared to others’ jubilant spirits, Adelle Wafford’s expression was not very pleasant, and although she sat at the head table, she hardly spoke, just sat there drinking water, coldly watching Winston Sullivan being surrounded by many people toasting him.

In previous years, apart from Mr. Avalon who always stood out, other members of the Chinese Medicine Department were largely ignored. This year, with Nathalie Quinlan emerging as a dark horse, the Chinese Medicine Department suddenly became the center of attention at today’s banquet, and even Winston Sullivan was surrounded by a crowd, exchanging pleasantries.

Most people were indirectly inquiring about news regarding Nathalie Quinlan.

”Professor Sullivan, your Chinese Medicine Department has really discovered a gem this year, has Nathalie Quinlan studied medicine before?” The one speaking was Gilbert Iversen, a professor from the Medical Department at Southern University and also a member of the Medical Association, who usually got along well with Adelle Wafford and was also from the clinical department specializing in cardiology.

As soon as he spoke up, several others followed with curious questions: ”Yes, Professor Sullivan, what’s the deal with this freshman at your school, can you give us some details? Has she systematically studied before, how else could she know so many medical points?”

”Uh...” Winston Sullivan felt quite uncomfortable being surrounded in the middle, and with two glasses of liquor in him, his face turned reddish, his expression embarrassingly awkward: ”This... I don’t know.”

”Professor Sullivan, there’s no need to hide it, if you don’t tell us we can guess the general situation. Saying you don’t know is a bit too dismissive for everyone,” Gilbert Iversen’s smile on the corners of his lips faded, his gaze darkening slightly, revealing unconcealed envy and jealousy.

Such a talented student hadn’t come to their Southern University. If he were mentoring her, he was confident he could raise a student even more outstanding than Evelyn Quarles.

Unfortunately, such a promising prospect ended up in the Chinese Medicine Department.

”You’re not worried about us poaching her, are you?” He said again with a mix of sour jest and sarcasm.

Winston Sullivan was an upright person and always quite proper. Pressing his lips together, he looked Gilbert Iversen squarely in the eyes and said, ”I really don’t know. If you’re curious, you can ask her yourself.”

Gilbert Iversen was somewhat embarrassed being retorted back by him, managing to squeeze out: ”I was just saying, you took it seriously... just a joke. Isn’t it just because your Chinese Medicine Department received the first place this year, can’t I even feel envious?”

”It’s not that you can’t, I just think Nathalie Quinlan’s personal affairs are her own. Her winning the first place is a win for domestic medicine. Professor Iversen, if you want to be sour, you really don’t need to!”

That reply was truly unmercifully frank, Gilbert Iversen’s face turned red, he clutched his glass of liquor, unable to reply immediately, and in frustration gulped down his glass, turning his head away, huffing, ”Heh, even a joke can’t be made when you have the first place!”

Seeing that the atmosphere had gotten a bit tense, everyone tried to smooth things over.

Someone was looking at their phone and suddenly, seemingly seeing something shocking, forgot the tense atmosphere between Winston Sullivan and Gilbert Iversen, approached Winston with phone in hand and asked, ”Professor Sullivan, does that freshman in your department also use Instagram?”
