The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 921: Chapter 921: Unwilling to Come Even One Day in Advance

Amadeus Yancey chuckled lightly upon recalling her lavish spending of a hundred million just like that during her graduation banquet, a tremble in his throat, his eyes also brimming with indulgence: ”Ah, looks like I need to save up more of a dowry.”

Nathalie Quinlan was just joking with him when she saw he took it so seriously and followed suit, responding nonchalantly, ”Well, that’s not necessarily the case. What if I don’t get confirmed during my internship and end up getting fired?”

If she didn’t pass her three-month internship, that would mean he was fired.

If word got out that Amadeus had a girlfriend and was ’fired,’ everyone in Beijing would drop their jaws.

This time, Amadeus’ chest trembled, and that disastrous face became slightly earnest: ”...Then I will strive not to get fired!”

He lifted the girl’s hand, grasped it in his palm, his large hand enveloping her hand, holding it, not bantering with her anymore, saying, ”Aren’t we in a hurry to get to the venue? Let’s go, I’ll take you.”

This time Nathalie Quinlan didn’t say anything else, nodded her head, and pressed her headphones back on.

She really was in a hurry. When Winston Sullivan and the others brought this up, they didn’t leave her much time. A week is neither long nor short; she tried her best to prepare, but time was limited and she didn’t finish everything. Since she was going to take the test, she definitely wasn’t aiming to be last.

Besides, there was Evelyn Quarles, who’d been winning first place year after year and also wanted to mock Chinese Medicine and local medical science, and that famous Master Carlo from overseas. Nathalie really wanted to see the world for herself.

She wanted to see how good the students from top overseas educational institutions really were!

At Capital City Airport, outside the international terminal, a black Mercedes quietly sat on the outside, people from the Medical Association were getting a little impatient waiting outside.

A balding man with a big belly couldn’t contain himself and spoke up, ”Has Master Carlo’s party not come out yet? Weren’t they supposed to be on the eight o’clock flight? It’s already half-past eight, and they’re still not out. What are they doing?”

The others with him didn’t speak.

The competition at half-past nine, and their opponents, representing international medicine, chose to fly to Beijing on an eight o’clock flight the same morning.

They weren’t even willing to come a day earlier.

Such a thing was a blatant disregard for local medical science!

This behavior was more than contempt for domestic medicine; it was utterly arrogant and presumptuous!

Anyone facing this situation would be unable to remain calm, let alone the people coming to receive them who were famous figures in the domestic medical community, all from the Medical Association.

Adelle Wafford also harbored a quiet resentment for the other party’s arrogant actions, yet kept a straight face, expressionless as she explained, ”Perhaps the airplane was delayed, let’s wait a little longer.”

Winston Sullivan, however, scorned her suggestion, speaking with little patience, ”If they were coming to compete, they should’ve booked a flight the day before. I really don’t know why we should wait outside and receive them, with their attitude they should take a taxi to the venue themselves!”

”What do you know. It’s their problem if they are in the wrong, at least we have to maintain our decorum,” retorted Adelle Wafford, her face taut, thinking about Nathalie Quinlan also participating this year, with a mix of annoyance and disdain, ”Master Carlo is after all a prominent figure in the international medical community, and we should give the respect that is due.”

”...” Winston Sullivan moved his mouth, nearly snapping back at her.

Master Carlo is indeed a prominent figure in the international medical community, and we should give him ample respect, but has he ever respected the domestic medical community?
