The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 910: Chapter 910: Nathalie: I’m Just Going to See the World

Shawn Norton was silent for a long while before he managed to digest her statement, anxiously asking, ”Nathalie, do you really want to participate in that whatever competition?”

He wasn’t a medical student and was uninterested in authoritative medical competitions. He just felt that there was no benefit for Nathalie Quinlan to join such a competition and that it would only drag her down.

After the college entrance banquet, Nathalie Quinlan’s name had officially surfaced within Beijing circles, definitely a good start.

Right now, she’s all over the news as the top scorer in both the national college entrance exam and the joint exam. Why bother getting involved in these murky waters?

To say nothing else, as Jackson Wafford hinted, the country hadn’t won first place in three years, and every time the competition ended, those from overseas who won would arrogantly mock them. Whoever participated would be hit; why should she bother joining in...

”Actually, you’ve just enrolled in Tsinghua University, and school hasn’t even started yet,” Shawn Norton thought deeper, his voice low and authoritative, ”You don’t need to represent the school in this competition. Is the Chinese Medicine department forcing you to compete? If that’s the case, don’t bother about it, I’ll talk to them!”

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t even officially started her freshman year, even if the Chinese Medicine department was at a dead end and needed to pick someone to take a beating, why should it be her?

Thinking of this, Shawn Norton felt a surge of anger, his brows furrowed, and suddenly his presence became very imposing!

His status was not low in the Academic Circle.

Only Mr. Avalon was comparable to him.

If he spoke up, Winston Sullivan would definitely not dare to say anything.

Nathalie’s computer was already open; she searched for the titles of a few books Mr. Avalon sent her, directly ordered them online, filled in Amadeus Yancey’s apartment address and her own phone number, and waited for the delivery tomorrow. She then regained her composure and casually explained, ”No, they didn’t force me; I decided to join after considering the future.”

”They didn’t force you? If they didn’t force you, why do you want to join, do you really want to bag the second-last place? This issue...”

Listening to his anxious voice speaking rapidly and forcefully on the other end, Nathalie Quinlan knew he was worried about herself. She smiled softly, her eyes softened, interrupting him, ”If I don’t go, Chinese Medicine will not have a representative again this year, and if nobody attends this year, it will be the fourth year with no participation.”

Shawn Norton still felt that it was underhanded for Winston Sullivan and others to push Nathalie Quinlan forward at this time, his tone revealing annoyance, ”That has nothing to do with you. You just enrolled this year; you can’t be blamed for this mistake. They are the ones who should be blamed!”

Nathalie Quinlan pulled out a chair and sat down, with her legs crossed and her posture casual. She was always relaxed in familiar environments, with her shoulders laid-back, her eyes drooping slightly, gleaming yet dark, her voice carrying a touch of amusement, ”Ah, it’s nothing. It’s just that I heard that that master who wins awards overseas each year looks down on Chinese Medicine, and his students also mock Chinese Medicine each year on Social Platforms, saying it’s just trickery and can’t stand the scrutiny of a legitimate medical competition. I want to see how formidable Western medicine is overseas, to broaden my horizons...”

The words ’broaden my horizons’ coming from her mouth made Shawn Norton feel as if he was seeing the sun rise from the west.

His understanding of Nathalie Quinlan was not thorough.

He only knew she had amazing talent in music, but why Nathalie Quinlan had such a good relationship with the Pinecone Group, why her academic performance improved so rapidly... and how she made those Small Pills that couldn’t be found on the Black Market... he didn’t understand any of it.
