The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 399: Chapter 399: I Will Never Be Late for You_1

Nathalie Quinlan saw the person approaching, put away her phone, lifted the corners of her eyes, and said in a languid tone, ”Not really, just waited a bit.”

Amadeus Yancey saw her snow-white, melon-seed face and couldn’t help but smile, feeling pretty good. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and said, ”Got held up by something, so I’m late.”

”Mhm,” Nathalie nodded in understanding, shook the phone in her hand with a relaxed and composed attitude, showing no sign of anger, ”You sent me a message saying it’ll be about thirty minutes.”

She glanced at the time, exactly thirty minutes, not a minute more.

”Right on time, not late.”

The small action of her arching her eyebrows, her eyes black and shiny, was as if she was suggesting what would happen if he carelessly arrived a minute late, which made the corners of Amadeus’s mouth lift uncontrollably, unable to suppress the joy on his face. His voice was lazy and captivating as he squinted his profound eyes, ”For you, I would never be late.”

Nathalie Quinlan: ”...”

She originally intended to tease him with a joke, but in the blink of an eye, she got flirted with in return.

She hooked her nape, feeling a bit restless inside, and inexplicably felt like she had been pushed back, quite frustrating, but at the moment, she didn’t know how to gain the upper hand.

Only Alfred Garland, accustomed to witnessing Amadeus’s racketeering, looked on indifferently from behind, having seen it all before and remained utterly composed.

His attention was mainly on Zeus Tanzil.

His bright and spirited eyes fell on Zeus, and the more he looked, the more familiar that face seemed.

From a distance, he had seen a boy approach Nathalie to strike up a conversation, and he had thought it was some Tsinghua University student who wasn’t paying attention. Now, upon closer inspection, this student looked very familiar, seemingly the Tanzil family’s academically outstanding young master.

Tsk~

He smacked his lips inwardly, and when he looked at Nathalie again, his gaze was indescribably complex.

Ms. Quinlan was just too formidable!

It was as if she could do anything!

Nothing that happened to her seemed strange anymore.

She was merely an inconspicuous high school girl from McKinney, but the more he got to know her over this half a year or so, the more he was amazed.

How could an 18-year-old girl be so impressive!

Full marks in Tsinghua University!

Alfred could no longer remember his initial reaction when he had seen the principal bring back her test papers; all he remembered was that he had checked and rechecked that set of papers seven or eight times, without finding a single cross, just pages of red ticks throughout.

But that wasn’t the scariest part. What truly terrified him was that upon examining closely—he saw that Nathalie hardly ever had to revise her answers!

He, too, had gone through nine years of compulsory education and had taken the college entrance exam.

He wasn’t sure about liberal arts.

His field was sciences.

Anyone who had studied mathematics, physics, or chemistry knew that, when working through applied problems, it was inevitable to realize halfway through that you had made a mistake or to find an error in one of the steps.

In such cases, most people would strike through the erroneous part and write the correct answer below.

Even if test papers came with scratch paper for rough calculations, such common slip-ups by ordinary people were unavoidable.

But Nathalie didn’t make any!

He looked closely at the math, physics, and chemistry problems on Nathalie’s paper, and her answers were all written smoothly from start to finish with flowing handwriting without a single sign of hesitation, suggesting that she wrote with great ease, and even seemed like... she hadn’t used scratch paper!

Those complex calculation processes were a piece of cake for her.

If it was true, it was truly terrifying!

How high must a person’s IQ be for their brain to operate like a computer, processing various types of data at any given time?
