The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 378: Chapter 378: Comparing with Others Can Be Maddening_1

The music department teacher was beaming with joy, ”If it isn’t Mr. Norton! I was stunned when he arrived today; I thought I had seen wrongly. I won’t keep talking, just get me that student’s information, Mr. Norton and his people are waiting for it.”

”What’s the name of the student Mr. Norton wants?”

Ghania Quinlan and Zayn Fisher were standing not far off, close enough to overhear their conversation.

Upon hearing Mr. Norton’s name, Ghania felt a surge inside her. She couldn’t believe someone had outdone her, connecting with this influence before she could, and she was both curious and envious, wanting to know who that person was.

Then she heard the music department teacher mention a name, ”Seems to be... Nathalie Quinlan?”

Winston Sullivan blurted out, without thinking, ”Another Quinlan?”

Nathalie Quinlan?!

Ghania Quinlan and Zayn Fisher were stunned on the spot, never expecting to hear that name.

Ghania felt as if she had been slapped in the face, her blood rushing to her head!

Their faces were incredibly awkward.

Zayn’s face turned from green to white, and he was a long time recovering his composure.

He had just humbled himself to Derliand Gober for Ghania’s sake, losing face to get him to prioritize her file, only to turn around and see someone from the Music Department asking for Nathalie’s information—and the person asking outranked Derliand by far. Shawn Norton was someone Zayn couldn’t even reach!

How did Nathalie manage to have Mr. Norton himself come to prioritize her file?

”...Why would it be Nathalie Quinlan?” Ghania said with a pale face, mumbling in disbelief.

*

Nathalie Quinlan was nearly at Pinecone Group’s Beijing branch when she received a text message from Shawn Norton, a simple line of text.

[Norton: You’re so set on studying Chinese Medicine, I won’t dissuade you anymore. I’ve taken your information to Mr. Avalon to see if he’s willing to come out of retirement to teach you.]

Nathalie raised the corners of her eyes and paused in her steps, pondering how to reply to him.

In fact, she wasn’t concerned about who taught her. When it came to learning, she believed more in her own abilities.

The identity of the teacher mattered, but she didn’t think it was everything.

As she was contemplating, her phone received another new message.

[Norton: By the way, I saw the new song you posted. The melody is well written, and you’ve improved a lot. Are you sure you don’t want me to help you promote it with a share?]

Nathalie thought of his Verified account. If he shared her new song, she wouldn’t even have to think about the sensational effect it would have; she probably wouldn’t have a moment’s peace for a long time.

She still had a lot of things to investigate, like the mystery of her biological mother, and many entanglements in the Illegal Zone... Attracting too much attention would be a hassle.

She just replied with a single word.

[QN: Don’t.]

Then she heard a surprised voice calling her name, ”Nathalie Quinlan?”

She lazily looked up and saw Adelle Wafford leading a group of people out of Pinecone Group and standing two or three meters away from her, looking at her with an expression of surprise and distaste.

A curious student by her side asked, ”Professor Wafford, do you know her?”

Nathalie heard Adelle Wafford scoff at her with a mocking tone, ”Know her? How could I not? The top student from McKinney, who is going to take the independent admissions exam at Tsinghua University tomorrow.”

Anyone could hear the thick sarcasm in her words, and the group following behind her didn’t dare to add anything to the conversation.

All of them were baffled, trying to figure out how such a young girl had managed to offend Professor Wafford!

Adelle Wafford walked over and stood in front of Nathalie, her eyebrows raised in disdain as she gazed at the girl and challenged, ”So you really came to Beijing?”

Nathalie arched her brows slightly, pushed the brim of her hat down, nonchalantly put her hands in her pockets, and looked back with a wild and rebellious gleam, ”Here for the independent admissions exam.”
