The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Mr. Yancey Also Wants to Have Dinner with Ms. Quinlan_1

Alfred Garland had just finished a phone call with Candice Yancey and walked back to the living room to inform the man who was busy working, ”Amadeus, the young lady knows Ms. Quinlan is in Beijing. She wants to invite Ms. Quinlan to dinner tomorrow. She’s set a place at Imperial Hotel and asked you to bring Ms. Quinlan along.”

Amadeus Yancey didn’t even look up, his voice cold and indifferent, ”Tell her I don’t have time.”

A bead of sweat slid down Alfred Garland’s forehead, and he felt a pain in his neck. Clutching his phone with a bitter, forced smile, he said, ”Amadeus, why don’t you talk to the young lady? I don’t dare to...”

The Yancey family members all have fiery tempers, straightforward in their personalities. Only Amadeus seems unflustered as a monk on usual days, but regardless of whether he’s holding back something bad, at least he appears easy to get along with.

As for Candice Yancey’s temper...

Alfred Garland didn’t want to get involved.

Speaking of which, he remembered, ”Mr. Yancey also called in the evening about the meeting tomorrow. It seems he also wants to see Ms. Quinlan. Most likely, Mr. Yancey will attend tomorrow’s dinner, too.”

After Ms. Quinlan had won over the little young master, it seemed like she had the entire Yancey family, old and young, wrapped around her finger.

He had originally been worried that with Ms. Quinlan’s family background, Mr. Yancey and the others might not approve of her. But now, it seemed the tables had turned, and Ms. Quinlan had become a cherished darling that everyone was eager to meet.

He blinked, thinking it was a great opportunity to meet her parents. He encouraged Amadeus Yancey, ”The young lady will be there too, so it won’t be as awkward for Ms. Quinlan when she meets Mr. Yancey. Why don’t you ask Ms. Quinlan later if she has time? If she does, it would be such a good chance for everyone to have a meal together. It’d be a shame to miss it.”

He had been tracking an overseas smuggling power that had recently been active in the Illegal Zone. Several small powers of the same type in the Illegal Zone had been violently absorbed, and now there was a saying in the Illegal Zone about the rise of another Night King.

Meaning, the King of the Night!

Recently, international police uncovered connections between that power and the Red Alliance.

Whether the Red Alliance was involved in that power was unclear, but at least, the two parties knew each other.

The Red Alliance — he remembered Nathalie Quinlan seemed to have connections with them. Last time she obtained rare materials, she clearly knew someone from the Red Alliance.

Alfred Garland was still chirping in his ear, ”Amadeus, you still haven’t asked Ms. Quinlan her opinion. What if Ms. Quinlan wants to see them too...”

As he kept buzzing in his own ear, Amadeus Yancey leaned his forehead on his hand, closed his laptop, and looked at him, weariness in his heart.

At that moment,

The door opened.

Speak of the Devil, Nathalie Quinlan returned from outside.

Upon seeing her, Alfred Garland excitedly ran up, ”Miss Quinlan, you’re back?”

After spending an entire day outside dining and chatting, Nathalie Quinlan was dizzy and longing for a shower. At his words, she hummed a response, indifferent, holding her backpack, and asked the man sitting on the sofa, ”Where’s my room?”

”The first room inside,” replied Amadeus Yancey as he lifted his eyelids. His handsome face, shrouded in the light, looked devastatingly beautiful. Ironically, his deep eyes were exceptionally tender at that moment, as if ripples spread across a spring lake, ”I’ve put new sheets and bedding for you, your favorite clothes are in the wardrobe, and your pajamas are in the bathroom.”

Nathalie Quinlan did not expect him to be so thoughtful. She paused for a moment, pressed the brim of her hat down to hide the flash of heat that passed through her eyes.

”Uh, thank you.”

Hearing her soft thanks, Amadeus Yancey felt a stirring in his heart. He chuckled lightly, lazily uttering, ”We’re not just good friends. It’s only right to help each other among friends.”
