The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 353: Chapter 353: Caryn Zachmann Was Also There at the Independent Recruitment Day_1

He said this and walked away hastily with his phone, not giving Celine Tucker and Ivy Wilmar any chance to ask him to stay.

Along the way, a member of the music association tried to stop him to discuss something, but he didn’t give them any ”face,” looking rushed as if he were going to meet someone important.

Watching him walk away, the expressions on Celine Tucker and Ivy Wilmar’s faces cooled, and they glanced at each other before hypocritically exchanging greetings, ”Well then, Mrs. Sullivan, I’ll take Caryn and leave first.”

”I’ve got other matters to attend to so I won’t see you out,” Ivy Wilmar said, equally fake with a curve of her lips, standing still without moving.

”Hmm.”

Everybody was an opponent, all eyeing Mr. Norton, so there was no need to continue putting on airs.

”Caryn, let’s go,” Celine called out to Caryn Zachmann, and with a bag in hand, she turned and walked away full of charm.

Once they were out that door,

Caryn Zachmann’s face suddenly fell, a mix of disappointment and annoyance, she muttered, ”Mom, if Mr. Norton doesn’t take on apprentices, what do we do?”

Before coming, she had been full of confidence, believing that she could win over the master with her talents.

But she had run into an unexpected setback.

It felt awful.

It was her first time feeling such defeat, ”Does it mean we have to give up on Mr. Norton as an option?”

Celine Tucker smoothed her hair nonchalantly, ”It’s not time to talk about giving up yet. Mr. Norton didn’t take apprentices before either. If he were so easy to approach, nobody would be watching him closely. When you face difficulties, don’t say ’give up’ so quickly. If you can do what others can’t, you’ll stand higher and run faster than them! No one’s success comes without effort. Even if you were born in Rome, you still need to work hard. Rome isn’t just about you. Didn’t you see there’s someone else from the Sullivan Family trying to compete with you?”

”Ha, as if they could compare.” Caryn Zachmann scoffed, regarding Ivy Wilmar’s niece with contempt, ”I don’t even know what kind of person she is, and she dares to compete with me.”

Celine Tucker also didn’t know, nor did she care much about other people’s affairs, especially as we’re talking about a niece, not a daughter. In the Beijing full of affluent families, such a status was insignificant.

”Anyway, she’s not someone you need to waste your time thinking about.”

Having said that, Celine thought for a moment, and as they walked, she asked, ”By the way, is Tsinghua University’s independent recruitment starting soon?”

With her mind full of thoughts, Caryn Zachmann hummed a confirmation, ”The 6th, I think? In three more days. I have an event to attend tomorrow, a shooting task. On the 6th, I also need to go back to school to help with the student union in welcoming the new students.”

Not just anyone could participate in Tsinghua University’s welcome for the new students, only the top students in the school could.

She was a highly talented student in the Medical Department, studying clinical medicine, under the guidance of Professor Adelle, a top domestic expert. She also possessed outstanding artistic talents, came from a distinguished family, and had some fame in the entertainment circle.

She was one of Tsinghua University’s famous alumni.

At occasions like independent recruitment, the school also needed outstanding students to represent it, and as one of the faces of the school, she would certainly be there to support the Medical Department.

She was accustomed to such occasions and said with self-assurance, ”This year, the Chinese Medicine Department will also participate, oh, I’m afraid it’s going to be embarrassing again.”

In the past, the students whom the Chinese Medicine Department was interested in didn’t rate them at all. They’d rather go back and take the entrance exam than waste their scores in such a ”garbage” specialty.

This had become a well-known joke throughout Tsinghua University.

To be honest, she looked down on the Chinese Medicine Department.

To her, departments like Chinese Medicine and Archaeology were just there to make up the numbers. That the Chinese Medicine Department was once again preparing to embarrass itself, she found it quite impressive.
