The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 383: Chapter 383: Everyone’s Waiting for Ghania Quinlan to Pass the Exam_1

Jethro Yapiter: ...

The latest research project of Adelle Wafford, a domestic expert in neurosurgery, was described by her as ’Which is better to cut a watermelon, a chef’s knife or a fruit knife?’ He twitched the corner of his mouth, yet his eyes sparkled with amusement.

This description is so Nathalie Quinlan!

It’s wild and audacious.

And very incisive!

”Alright,” he no longer hesitated, holding the document Nathalie Quinlan had given him, and smilingly said, ”Then I’ll take this to the finance department so they can contact this person.”

”Let me see what this person’s name is.”

He glanced at it and saw that the last page of the title page was flamboyantly signed with three characters—Winston Sullivan.

Jethro Yapiter chuckled and said, ”Winston Sullivan, now that’s a pretty good name.”

Winston Sullivan?

Nathalie Quinlan lifted her eyelids, feeling vaguely familiar with the name. After deciding to study at Qing University’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, she had learned about it, including the teachers of the Chinese Medicine Department, and it seemed there was a name like Winston Sullivan.

On the other side, after parting with Zayn Fisher, Ghania Quinlan returned home with heavy concerns.

”I’m back.”

Myles Sullivan was rarely at home today; he was in the living room making a phone call when Ghania Quinlan got back; he had just finished the call.

Seeing Ghania return, he put away his phone and cheerfully said, ”Back already? How did you feel about school today?”

Speaking of Tsinghua University, Ghania naturally longed for it.

The campus of Tsinghua University was even more beautiful than she had imagined, with a strong learning atmosphere, and everywhere were elite students walking on the roads. Just by entering this school, she wouldn’t need to worry about her future anymore.

But...

Ghania’s heart was always shrouded by dark clouds, uncertain how to broach the subject. Faced with Myles Sullivan’s concern, her eyes shimmered, she fidgeted with her clothes and mumbled, ”Hmm, it was okay.”

Myles Sullivan didn’t notice her little gesture and laughed heartily, patting her shoulder, ”Tsinghua is a top-notch university in the country; as long as you get in, it will make it much easier for me to introduce you to my friends in the future.”

”Ghania, do you feel confident about tomorrow?”

Ghania faltered, glanced at him, and deeply wanted to tell him what she had seen at the school today.

It was about Mr. Norton asking someone to fetch Nathalie Quinlan’s records. She really wanted Myles Sullivan to check whether Nathalie knew Mr. Norton.

And the nature of their relationship.

But as the words approached her lips, she feared that if Myles Sullivan knew about this, he might start to value Nathalie more and pay less attention to her.

Ghania weighed the cost of speaking or remaining silent in her heart and, under Myles Sullivan’s gaze, she nodded gravely, ”Yes, I’m confident.”

Myles Sullivan was unaware of what had happened at the school, and he certainly didn’t know Mr. Norton, who never visited Tsinghua University, had specifically gone to request Nathalie Quinlan’s records. He just looked at his niece, who had spectacularly improved over the past month and smiled with satisfaction.

Ghania had made great progress this month and was almost certain to be admitted into Tsinghua; he had already mentioned to his friends that he had a niece applying to Tsinghua, just waiting for Ghania to pass the entrance exam so he could throw a large banquet to celebrate.

”If you’re confident, that’s good. Tests are tomorrow; you need to get up early, so rest well tonight. Don’t stay up too late,” he patted Ghania’s shoulder again, encouraging her with a few words, then let her go upstairs to revise her lessons.

...

Upstairs, Ghania returned to her room, quickly closed the door, and shut herself inside.

The Sullivan family didn’t prepare a bedroom for her; she slept in a guest room.

The room wasn’t as big as her bedroom in McKinney, and the bed wasn’t very soft. The room was filled mostly with the clothes and skincare products she brought along and a lone computer, lacking the warm feeling of a home.

Ghania bit her lip and slowly walked to her desk to sit down, always feeling a heavy burden in her heart.

After some thought, she took out her phone and sent a message to Zayn Fisher.

Then she just sat there, waiting for Zayn Fisher to reply.

Time passed, and finally, her tightly held phone lit up.

Ghania opened the message eagerly. The reply from Zayn Fisher in the dialogue box seemed extremely indifferent, just a brief line of text.

[Tsinghua’s independent recruitment considers grades, not connections. Even if Mr. Norton took her file, she must still pass the written exam. Her grades have always been inferior to yours, so the chances of her passing the written test are slim! Get some good rest and focus on your test. Do well tomorrow; she can’t possibly surpass you.]
