The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Aiming for an Amazing Result_1

”You all came to Beijing and are still staying at a hotel?” Myles Sullivan furrowed his brows, somewhat annoyed.

It wasn’t that he was annoyed by anything else, but the Sullivan Family often entertained Beijing’s powerful elites. Having his own sister and brother-in-law show up like this, they’d simply lose face for the Sullivan Family if encountered.

Yet, having his sister come from McKinney to Beijing and stay in a hotel instead of with family would also look bad if word got out.

Jeff Quinlan’s business acumen was average, but his networking skills in the marketplace earned him praise, thanks to his aptitude for observing others and picking up on social cues.

Seeing the expression on his nephew-by-marriage’s face, he knew what the other was thinking. On one hand, he felt bitter about his own downfall, but for his daughter’s sake, he had to swallow his pride and explained, ”We have plans on the 6th to take Ghania to the examination site, so it might be inconvenient to stay here, and that’s why we booked a hotel near Tsinghua University. Don’t worry about us; we’re adults and can take care of ourselves. If we need help, we’ll definitely give you a call.”

This gave Myles enough face, making it seem more like ’it’s not that you’re neglecting us, but we insist on staying at a hotel.’

Myles’s expression eased considerably, and after a moment of silence, he relented, ”Alright then, give me a call if you need anything. We’re family after all.”

His idea of family was undoubtedly lofty, and Jeff Quinlan replied with a bitter smile, ”Yeah.”

Once Myles found a way to step down with dignity, he turned his severe square face towards Ghania and said, ”Ghania, your parents have come all the way from McKinney to Beijing just for your exams. You must not let them down.”

Ghania was already under great pressure and hadn’t been sleeping well for the past few days. Hearing this only added to her stress, but she couldn’t confide her feelings to Myles and had to nod emphatically, ”Uncle, mom, dad, don’t worry. I will definitely get into Tsinghua University!”

She had looked at the university’s past exam questions every year and even sought advice from professional teachers. Plus, she had a secret weapon.

Nathalie had once given her a set of prediction examination materials, which listed many question types.

She would often use it for studying, selecting a couple of sets from it to practice, and similar question types would mostly appear in the exam.

She didn’t know where Nathalie got these practice books from, but they were particularly useful. The only issue was that Nathalie had given it to her in her freshman year, and some of the question types were a bit outdated.

Now that she and Nathalie were on such bad terms, it was impossible to ask her for the latest predictions, leaving her no choice but to make do with the old booklet, go through all the questions, and then have them reviewed by the professional teacher that Ivy Wilmar had arranged for her.

She had thoroughly mastered the content of the booklet, and her scores in the recent few mock exams had been steady around 580. If she could perform at this level in the actual exams for independent recruitment, getting into the interview stage would be a breeze.

And once she was through to the interview stage, Zayn Fisher had pulled some strings for her, making high scores within reach.

Thinking this way, Ghania’s confidence was bolstered, and she quietly began to look forward to the day of the exams.

If she could achieve stellar results that astonished everyone...

Nathalie and Shawn Norton parted ways around eight-thirty in the evening.

It was too late to send a message to Alfred Garland, so she hailed a taxi on the roadside and gave the driver the address Amadeus Yancey had sent her.

The cab sped through the night towards Tsinghua University.

The apartment Amadeus mentioned was close to a big yard near Tsinghua University. It looked unremarkable, but longtime Beijing residents knew it wasn’t a place just anyone could live in.
