The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 352: Chapter 352: They All Want to Invite to Dinner_1

Celine Tucker couldn’t possibly fail to hear the forced defense in her voice, but just as she was about to speak.

Ivy Wilmar looked at Shawn Norton first and said, ”Mr. Norton, as someone in the music industry, you must know situations where one writes a good piece of music and shares it with friends. Sometimes it’s inevitable to take their suggestions and make some adjustments to the notes, but the piece is definitely still one’s own original work.”

McKinney is miles away from Beijing, and how much the piece has been changed is still up to them to dictate.

Nathalie Quinlan... Ivy Wilmar thought of this name, her eyes flickered slightly with pity.

She personally appreciated Nathalie Quinlan, but since she didn’t take well to discipline and was unwilling to play by the Sullivan Family’s rules and come to Beijing with them, Wilmar might not have credited all the merit of the composition to Ghania Quinlan.

That’s just how society is, the strong prey on the weak, and since Nathalie Quinlan was unwilling to rely on the Sullivan Family, she certainly had to side with her own people.

However, what she found odd was that Caryn Zachmann and Celine Tucker were here too. Didn’t they know that the piece that got Ghania Quinlan second place had something to do with Nathalie Quinlan?

She concealed the surprise in her eyes, with a guess already forming in her heart.

It seems the Zachmann Family indeed had no intention of properly acknowledging Nathalie Quinlan, otherwise Celine Tucker and her daughter wouldn’t be unaware of even this matter!

Such a pity!

Ivy Wilmar, compared to Celine Tucker, had more of a strong woman’s style, decisive and efficient in her actions, not dragging things out. After speaking, she immediately asked for Shawn Norton’s opinion.

”Mr. Norton, do you have time?”

One after another, they all wanted to arrange meals with him. Mr. Norton massaged his forehead, knowing what they were after, and flatly said, ”I have no plans to take disciples, you needn’t bother.”

The moment these words came out, not just Celine Tucker and Caryn Zachmann, but even Ivy Wilmar was surprised, and then a bit embarrassed, she sheepishly said, ”Mr. Norton, you’ve misunderstood.”

Before the words were finished, she heard Shawn Norton’s unkind voice, ”Just assume I’ve misunderstood. But if you’re here to persuade me to take on disciples, there’s no need. Your knowledge of piano is something I only understand superficially. If you want someone to look at piano compositions, you should find a piano master, not me.”

His words were somewhat blunt.

Celine Tucker, Ivy Wilmar, and Caryn Zachmann all had trouble maintaining their composure.

Celine Tucker, feeling somewhat embarrassed, said, ”Mr. Norton, you really have misunderstood, I simply wanted to invite you for a meal and just by the way to have a look at Caryn’s composition...”

He’d originally agreed to find time for a meal, but now he said, ”We’ll see when the time comes, I might not have the time. If I can’t make it, I’ll just go directly to the Nursing Home to see Ericko.”

Caryn Zachmann’s face turned pale.

If he went directly to see Grandpa, she’d have no chance at all.

She had spoken to the old gentleman about wanting to take Mr. Norton as a teacher, and when she did, his expression, how was it, a slight smile, so calmly told her that Mr. Norton would not take her, and he himself was not willing to ask this favor for her.

If at all she could have made the old gentleman come forward, she wouldn’t have to follow her mother, trudging to the Imperial Hotel to block someone.

Caryn Zachmann was not yet discouraged. Confident in her own exceptional talent, she stood out among the debutantes of Beijing. Biting the tip of her tongue, she said unwillingly, ”Grandfather Norton, your piano skills are also very high, I really want you to take a look for me...”

However, Shawn Norton didn’t give her face, ”I’m not skilled at piano, and I’ll repeat myself, you should find an expert in this area to review your piano pieces. I only have a superficial understanding and am not up to the task of critiquing for others.”

After he had spoken, just then, his phone rang.

Caryn Zachmann saw his expression ease slightly as he looked down at his phone, not knowing who had sent him a message, and he hurriedly said, ”That’s it, I have something to attend to, I must be going.”
