The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 398: Chapter 398: Have You Hit on Our Amadeus Yet?_1

She herself didn’t like boys whose looks were too creamy, always giving off a sense of frailty, so when she suddenly encountered a ’frail’ boy who called her junior standing before her, Nathalie Quinlan’s first reaction was to frown and ask, ”Is there something you need?”

Her tone was different from the usual delicacy of most girls, indolent, with a hint of defiance.

Upon hearing this, Zeus Tanzil felt an invisible hand pluck at his heartstrings. He could tell that the personality of the girl in front of him was likely different from the types he had encountered before. With a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, he said shyly, yet amiably, ”Um, are you here to participate in the independent recruitment for students?”

Meeting Nathalie Quinlan’s dark eyes, as black as ink dots, he lowered his gaze, smiling, ”I’m sorry, I haven’t seen you at the school before, so I wondered if you might be here to take a test. By the way, what’s your name? I’m Zeus Tanzil, from Tsinghua University’s finance department, a junior.”

Nathalie Quinlan’s black eyes grew increasingly impatient, enduring his long-windedness without a point to be found.

”Is there something you need?”

Zeus Tanzil, who looked at himself in the mirror every day when he got up and while showering, was aware of what his face looked like. He had taken the initiative to strike up a conversation and enthusiastically introduce himself, not expecting to be rebuffed twice. This was the first time he had encountered such a situation, and he couldn’t react for a moment. Touching his nose sheepishly, he said awkwardly, ”No, nothing important. I just saw you standing here on your phone by yourself and wondered if you would like a tour of the school. This is your first time at Tsinghua, right...”

”Not interested.”

Nathalie Quinlan withdrew her gaze, her expression cold, languid, still leaning there, neck craned, as if the phone in her hands was more interesting than anything else.

Zeus Tanzil stood there, somewhat at a loss.

So cool!

He had just walked by with a friend from afar and was dazzled by the sight of her leaning here. He thought of coming over to ask for her WhatsApp, although from a distance he could tell Nathalie Quinlan was not the soft and cute type. Yet, he wasn’t prepared for this level of coolness.

Perhaps boys have a sort of innate tendency to grow even more curious about someone the less accessible she appears. Zeus Tanzil was no exception and was thinking of trying again.

”Junior sister, I...”

He was halfway through his sentence when suddenly a voice from the right side cut in.

”Nathalie.”

A man’s voice?

He instinctively looked in the direction of the voice.

What he saw was a man in a khaki trench coat with a distinguished appearance, walking leisurely toward them.

The man was accompanied by another equally tall man with a crew cut, sharp features, and holding car keys in his hand. Judging by their attire, both were adults, in their early twenties, at least a few years older than himself.

Zeus Tanzil didn’t care much for the man with the car keys, confident he was no worse than the other one with the keys.

His gaze was primarily focused on the man leisurely calling out to someone.

He knew the brand of the clothes on that man; a friend of his had worn it once: a men’s fashion brand under the seven label.

The piece the man was wearing seemed to be a globally limited edition, with only one or two pieces released, very few in number.

He was tall, with long legs, and the sunlight filtering through the gaps in the leaves of the Paulownia trees on either side of the school campus cast a charming shadow on the bridge of his nose.

Truly, a breathtaking sight!

Zeus Tanzil was still standing there, but couldn’t help feeling somewhat self-deprecating compared to the man.

Clenching his fists at his sides, he watched the two men approach the ’junior sister’ he had just tried to flirt with and been rejected by.

Amadeus Yancey walked over and took her backpack into his own hands, his eyelashes half-closed, his eyes deep, his voice both low and husky, familiarly asking, ”Have you been waiting long?”
