The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 355: Chapter 355: Just Find a Hotel to Stay in_1

Amadeus made up the excuse of conveniently being ”on the way” to Beijing to get back with Ms. Quinlan!

Being ”on the way” and rushing there are two entirely different concepts.

It certainly couldn’t be said outright that Amadeus was chasing after Ms. Quinlan.

They don’t care about losing face at all, do they?

Alfred Garland didn’t know what to do when he heard the man’s composed voice ask in a calm and steady tone, ”Nathalie, where do you plan to stay tonight?”

Every time Nathalie was called by her name by him, she felt like her ears were getting pregnant, mistaken in believing that her name, spoken from his lips, always carried a deeper meaning—probably due to his voice, so deep and seductive, criminally so!

She got inexplicably agitated again, holding her purse and standing askew as she spoke in a hoarse voice, ”A hotel?”

”I’m not sure yet. I’ll see when I get there. If nothing goes wrong, I’ll find a hotel near Tsinghua University.”

Amadeus Yancey’s eyes were deep, his brows carefree, his pale wrist rested on the table, the Buddhist beads on his wrist blood-red and slightly sinister. He said methodically, ”I’ve checked for you, and the hotels near Tsinghua University are all booked up by students here for exams these days. You probably won’t be able to get a room on short notice.”

Booked up? Nathalie hadn’t considered this before, her brows knitted in annoyance; she couldn’t remember if she owned any properties in Beijing close to Tsinghua University.

As she was pondering this, Amadeus lazily said, ”The apartment I’m staying in just happens to be near Tsinghua University, four rooms, two bedrooms, a study, and a home theater. How about staying at my place for the time being?”

Alfred Garland was taken aback for a moment.

He hadn’t expected the topic to change so swiftly.

One second ago, Ms. Quinlan wasn’t joining them and planned to meet a friend on her own.

The next second, it became Amadeus inviting Ms. Quinlan to live with him.

This efficiency, outstanding!

Nathalie almost didn’t think twice, ”No need, I’ll just find a hotel myself.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Amadeus Yancey said leisurely, ”Traffic jams in Beijing are extreme in the morning. If you can’t stay in a hotel near Tsinghua University, you’ll need to take a car to school. You’d have to get up an hour earlier at the earliest every morning, sometimes even earlier...”

Nathalie’s brow furrowed deeply.

His voice, low and beguiling, suggested, ”You’re only in Beijing for a few days. Since you can’t find a good hotel, why not stay at my place for the time being? We’re all friends, and you saved Edric. I can’t possibly let you have nowhere to stay while you’re in Beijing.”

With those words, if Amadeus really wanted Ms. Quinlan to have a place to stay, with his status, simply opening his mouth would ensure that a hotel near Tsinghua University would make room for her.

That’s what Alfred Garland thought in his heart but didn’t voice out, taking on the role of a bystander, acting like a piece of the background.

Nathalie was still hesitating.

Privately, she certainly didn’t want to live alone with Amadeus. In McKinney, having Audrick Zachmann and Edric around was one thing, but in Beijing...

She was still considering.

Alfred Garland fanned the flames from the side, ”Ms. Quinlan, why not stay at Amadeus’s place? His apartment is spacious, with separate rooms. We’re all so familiar with each other, why bother looking for a hotel when there’s room at home.”

”I’m usually busy, not always at home. Besides the maid who comes to clean every day, staying at my place is just like staying at a hotel.”

Amadeus’s finger bones curled, his hands beautiful to an extreme, proportionate without a trace of excess flesh, fingers long, nails trimmed round and neat—far more appealing than the hands of the online influencers who love to show off their hands on the internet.

Nathalie wasn’t one to dither. He had spoken to such an extent; there was no point in being pretentious.

After briefly considering, she said, ”Alright then. Send me the address, I’ll take a car there myself tonight.”
