The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 397: Chapter 397: Another Test Paper for Nathalie Quinlan!_1

Derliand Gober had also thought of this, and he had never imagined that Adelle Wafford, as a forty-something individual, could be so petty—even to the point of tampering with a student’s grades.

”Wafford...”

Just as he was about to speak,

someone suddenly entered the academic affairs office.

”President.”

The stunned crowd recognized the visitor and exclaimed in surprise.

The Tsinghua University president, seeing them gathered together but not knowing what they were talking about, walked over with an embarrassed expression and asked, ”Are the papers out yet?”

With his arrival, Adelle Wafford’s intention to take away the test papers was temporarily set aside.

Derliand Gober averted his line of sight and said with a smile, ”They just came over, we haven’t graded them yet.”

”Oh, I see,” the Tsinghua University president said, feeling somewhat awkward as he scanned the faces of the crowd and continued, ”I’d like to take a look at one of the students’ papers, could you help me find it?”

Derliand Gober’s brows furrowed, this was the first time he heard that he wanted to find a student’s paper, curiously he asked, ”Whose paper would you like to see, President?”

”From McKinney, I believe the name was Nathalie Quinlan? Have any of you seen this student’s paper?”

From McKinney.

Nathalie Quinlan.

They had just graded a paper from a student named Nathalie Quinlan, the results just coming out, a monstrous 650—full marks!

Professor Wafford had even intended to take that student’s test paper.

And now, as they turned around, the president had arrived. Asking for the same student’s paper, he too wanted to take it away!

The people in the room looked at each other, baffled by the situation unfolding before them.

Only Adelle Wafford felt a few rapid thumps in her heart when she heard that the president also wanted Nathalie’s paper, a sense of unease rising within her.

How could a student from a small place like McKinney warrant the personal attention of the president in getting her paper? What kind of power did this Nathalie Quinlan have behind her?

Adelle Wafford clutched her palm, unable to snap back to reality for a moment.

On the playground outside the exam venue, Nathalie Quinlan leaned casually against a quiet pillar outside the classroom building. She had a tranquil side profile, head lowered, eyes retracted into the black orbs as she looked at her phone, the sunlight elongating her shadow. Even her shadow exuded the unruly charm of her slouching posture, captivating onlookers.

Jhovany Sullivan had just sent her a message, a lengthy one filling most of the dialog box.

She looked at it intently.

[Nathalie, when do you plan to come back to school? We all miss you. Justin Wafford’s birthday is coming up in a few days, and he said he’ll treat us to a big meal!! We’re just waiting for you to come back so we can eat him out of house and home!!!]

[And... about that independent examination’s results, don’t take it too much to heart. You really shouldn’t worry about it. It’s completely normal to not do well; I often perform poorly, and as long as you do well in the college entrance exam, that’s all that matters. As long as we do well in the college entrance exam, who cares about Tsinghua University, we won’t even consider it, let’s go to Southern University. I’ll take the exam with you! You mustn’t lose heart. Go Nathalie!!!]

”Hmm,” Nathalie raised her eyebrows after reading the last word, squinting her eyes, unsure of how to reply.

What was up with today? Why was everyone coming to comfort her one after another?

If it weren’t for the fact that the results hadn’t come out yet, she almost thought she had landed at the very bottom.

Nathalie felt rather gloomy, pondering how to respond to the lengthy concern she had expressed, when suddenly, a timid voice called out to her.

”Junior.”

Nathalie raised her head to see a rather tall boy standing in front of her with fair skin, thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a pair of small tiger teeth when he smiled at her.

He was handsome.

Such looks, not to mention in a prestigious institution like Tsinghua University, would easily make him the school hunk in any other external school.

It was a pity he had approached the wrong person, as Nathalie usually set her sights on boys of Amadeus Yancey’s caliber, with Audrick Zachmann and Lowie Wilmar not far behind, and at the very least, there was Alfred Garland with his striking presence.
