The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 379: Chapter 379: Nathalie, You’re Just That Confident_1

Adelle Wafford regarded her with an amused look, raising her own voice as if quite astonished, repeating Nathalie’s words, ”You’re here for the independent admissions process?”

Nathalie stood there in a casual manner, with a hint of unruliness in her brows and eyes, repressing her defiant air, and answered nonchalantly, ”Yeah.”

”Ha.” Wafford couldn’t help but laugh, not bothering to hide the contempt on her face, and asked from a position of superiority, ”You don’t really believe that you can get into Tsinghua University with your grades, do you?”

She’d reviewed Nathalie Quinlan’s prior academic records after returning to Beijing, finding that her elementary school grades were decent, at least at the top level within her school, but after entering junior high, Nathalie’s grades plummeted.

In such a small place as McKinney, where she hadn’t attended a prestigious school, her monthly and semester exams results were only average within her class, and her school ranking always hovered around the middle, nothing remarkable.

Not to mention if her grades were compared to those in the city district, it was even more of a pitiful sight!

Wafford had been teaching for over a decade, and having always been one of the top students herself, she had little regard for students who lacked talent in their studies, firmly believing that those who couldn’t perform well were simply not trying hard enough since effort could overcome any bad grades.

Looking at Nathalie again, Wafford felt none of the regret she initially had, as she crossed her arms over her chest, her jawline tensed, subtly lifted her chin, squinted her eyes, and said with an air of arrogance, ”I’ve seen your grades. I admit you’ve improved a lot since you joined No. 1 Middle School in McKinney, and your performance in the last two exams wasn’t bad. But the likelihood of your grades passing Tsinghua’s independent admission process is almost nonexistent.”

Having said that with conviction, she then smiled wryly and added, ”...But perhaps a miracle might happen.”

After all, the Chinese Medicine department would also be participating in the independent admissions this year, and based on previous years, surely no student would want to study Chinese Medicine.

Maybe the school would allocate a spot for the Chinese Medicine department just to save face.

Since everyone was reluctant, and Nathalie wanted in, who knew, the Chinese Medicine department might even be willing to pick up the scraps!

She took a deep breath, and after a second thought, felt there was no need to take offence at a student who was completely out of her league. Her lips pursed slightly, she straightened her clothes, looked down her nose at Nathalie, and said, ”Nathalie, I’m looking forward to your performance tomorrow. I hope you won’t disappoint me. Since you’ve come all the way to Beijing, at the very least make it to an interview!”

Nathalie didn’t grasp where all her animosity was coming from, just because she had declined a place in the clinical department?

But she was quite indifferent to people like Adelle Wafford, having encountered many such types from an early age. She cocked her head, and lazily answered, ”If I perform normally, it should be quite hard for you to be disappointed.”

She was telling the truth.

Wafford took that for provocation, and immediately let out a cold laugh, ”Is that so? Sometimes I quite admire your confidence. I will wait and see just how much you do not disappoint me tomorrow!”

Nathalie had already caught sight of Jethro Yapiter descending to meet her and, glancing at the indignantly sneering Adelle Wafford, said airily, ”Whatever you say.”

After speaking, she didn’t pay any attention to Wafford and her entourage and strutted off towards the Pinecone Group.

Wafford hadn’t anticipated Nathalie would be so audacious as to just walk away, leaving her with eyes nearly bulging out in frustration, taking quite a while to quell the anger heaving in her chest.

This Nathalie Quinlan, with her average scores, still had such a bold and domineering temperament!

The students who had come with her watched the rebellious and slender figure stride away with curiosity, then approached Wafford and asked in a low voice, ”Professor Wafford, she’s also going to the Pinecone Group, huh?”

”Perhaps she has Relatives working there,” Wafford retracted her gaze, dismissive, and said to the others, ”Let’s go.”
