COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

But of course Hikigaya-kun would not deny this ideal.

”Nothing has changed.”

”I see.”

”So what do you think about studying medicine?”

”Ah?” Hachiman was stunned.

Because studying medicine, isn’t that what Horikita wants to do? Oh no, Hachiman remembered, Hirata’s ambition was to study medicine.

Because his friend is still very weak, he wants to study and do something within his ability for his friend in the future.

Since they were just talking about Hirata, Horikita is asking him whether he will choose the same university as his friends.

”I might go to the National Medical University. So if you don’t have any other ideas at that time, then go to the same university as me.” Horikita stood up while saying this with her usual cold aloof expression.

”I still have some books in the dormitory that I haven’t finished reading. I’m going back first. I recently discovered that Kushida-san seems to be studying law. The content exceeds her current curriculum, so she probably wants to develop for the future. Even someone as lazy as Kushida-san has started to work hard. I’m a little bit dissatisfied.”

Having said that, Horikita turned and left just as she came.

While Hachiman was still in a daze, he found that she had come back and took away her unopened tomato juice that he ordered for her.

No waste.

”...What’s up with her?”

So, Hikigaya-kun was left in the lounge. ’I feel like the topic Horikita just talked about is a little weird. However, her ideal is to become an excellent doctor, so it is normal for her to want to go to Medical university....’

Coo coo~

Took a sip of coffee.

Hachiman suddenly remembered that something was wrong. ’I wanted to tell Horikita that I’m dating Kushida, so I wanted to ask her to be a little more careful.....’

As a result, Horikita left now.

He hadn’t said anything yet, and had inexplicably decided on his future university direction.

Although you can go to any university, some majors are flashy, but medical knowledge is real and practical.

So, just reciting it should not be a bad idea.

Horikita mentioned that she used him as a shield to date him.

Kushida also knew that Horikita and he were just in a fake relationship, so there shouldn’t be any problem.

So, Hikigaya-kun returned to the dormitory with a clear mind.

In the room, Albert was already fast asleep, and Yukimura was almost recovered from his cold.

It looks like he’ll be able to take action tomorrow.

Otherwise, this school trip would have been in vain.

xxxxxxx

It was fourth day.

All the students had breakfast in the hotel, but most of them were looking at their phones.

Because at seven o’clock in morning, everyone’s mobile phone received an email from school.

This is the task for 4th day of this school trip.

In the itinerary you received at the beginning, it was noted that there were requirements for fourth day.

So, Ichinose and her classmates seemed a little nervous about the sightseeing in Sapporo yesterday.

She thought school might make a fuss about that.

Now request comes. At the same time, Ichinose and others made right bet.

Hachiman looked at the email message from school.

[Special assessment, you can choose to participate or refuse.]

[The group which refuses is free to do whatever they want today, but will be forced to study from 7 to 9 pm.]

[Within the limited time (before 5pm), you can freely choose 6 or more attractions to check in from 15 destinations designated by school.]

[After arriving at each tourist attraction, all members of the group take a commemorative photo at designated location, and the check-in is completed. Repeat this process.]

Note 1: Points can be earned by checking in at the corresponding attractions.

Groups that accumulate more than 20 points can each receive 30,000 private points from school.

Note 2: The school will reimburse all transportation expenses, but students need to pay for taxi fares by themselves.

Note 3: Photos of scenic spots taken by a group can be transferred. If you get photos taken by other groups, you can also summarize them as completing the task for your own group.

Note 4: The same group can check in at the same attraction up to 3 times.

Note 5: A group can only receive the award once. (Key)

”…”

This special assessment is quite interesting. On the one hand, it requires entire group to take photos together, which means there is no possibility for some people to slack off.

It’s hard not to.

For an ordinary student, 30,000 yen per person means an increase of nearly one month’s living expenses.

Why not?

You should know there are basically students from four classes in one group.

There are definitely classes that have sufficient living expenses, but there are also that are precarious about living expenses, as well as classes that want to gain points.

Although there are some restrictions, it can also be understood this school trip is a generous gesture from to the students.

The photos of checking in can be transferred, which means that students are allowed to make a little money.

According to the check-in rules, all groups will randomly select 6 out of 15 attractions.

Check in to get corresponding points.

The final process only requires choosing to take this special exam and then submitting group photos of 6 attractions that are enough to score 20 points.

You need to collect 20 points to pass the test, and then each person will receive 30,000 personal points distributed by the school.

Although it sounds simple, it is difficult to implement in practice.

Because of the distance of attractions and difficulty in the cooperation of group members.

After all, you only have one day of free time, and then have to go back to school tomorrow afternoon.

So for most students, this is the last day to play.

Then there will be a situation where some people are unable to cooperate with the team’s actions.

Such inconvenience has led to the arrangement of small groups to check in at scenic spots, and then giving photos to corresponding groups so that they can complete the task and receive rewards.

In other words, even if you are not in harmony with your own team members, you can still pass the level by buying photos from other groups.

Then you will get a reward of 30,000 private points equal to the number of team members.

”…”

Soon, after rules of the exam were determined, Hachiman discovered that students in Ichinose’s class seemed to be a little agitated.

After all, it’s an opportunity to earn points.

For those who travel on a budget, this cannot be ignored.

But even if you want to do it, it is difficult.

Because getting points is not just the idea of one class, school arranges each group one by one, so you have to ask your team members whether they are willing to cooperate.

For this kind of activity.

”You can do whatever you want today. I will personally pay you 210,000 points out of the 240,000 points paid by the school.”

Sakayanagi pardoned her group with a little wave of her palm, smug smile maintained on lips.

....Yes, there are also people like her.

She was assigned to the first group, so according to rules, she worked as a team.

This is definitely not possible given her physical condition.

So, Sakayanagi chose to quit directly.

However, considering that team would suffer losses due to her withdrawal, Sakayanagi offered compensation.

Apart from her, other 210,000 points are rewards given by the school for completing tasks.

Although there is still a possibility of purchasing photos from other groups, Sakayanagi doesn’t care about such a small reward.

It’s not even as much as the cost of a week’s meals with Hikigaya-kun.

”Eh, that’s not a good idea, Sakayanagi-san.” Onodera seemed a little surprised.

Because this girl is so wealthy.

”So if we buy the photos through our own channels, can we get points from the school?” Sudo said at this time, his depressed face even made Sakayanagi to look at him with pity.

”I don’t mind. Do whatever you want.”

There is only one restriction on choosing the channel of purchasing photos to obtain rewards: team members must agree to participate in this event.

So, Sakayanagi directly replied to the email sent by school with the word ”participation”.

However, Sudo’s suggestion was obviously not a high EQ move.

Sakayanagi offered a reward, so does he still want to participate and get the reward from school?

Does that mean you want to eat double?

But for Class D, face is not as important as money.

However, if it were someone else, they might do so, but Hachiman felt that it was unlikely.

Because, in fact, neither Sudo nor Onodera are short of money.

They won third place reward in sports festival that just ended.

500,000 private points.

So, it was impossible for both of them to use up all their points.

Sudo probably just felt that he shouldn’t receive anything without doing anything, and hoped to avoid having Sakayanagi pay in this way.

After all, everyone knows Sakayanagi’s situation, and it would be too much to ask of her too harshly.

Also, because of what happened with Onodera yesterday, Sudo was out for two hours before coming back.

Although he is physically good, but still under mental pressure.

That’s why, Sudo seems to be avoiding contact with Onodera now.

After all, he must have felt hurt when he mistakenly thought other person liked him and then was rejected directly.
