COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Students are precious.

All those who can enter school are specially selected. There is a threshold.

At the same time, entering school is equivalent to receiving training.

If they are bullied at will or problems arise, then investment made by the school will be wasted in advance.

That is why definite regulations are given. Even if students choose to drop out, it will bring a disaster of -300 points to class evaluation score.

Another meaning is that class will bear the losses incurred in nurturing this student.

Mashima-sensei said no more.

However, considering the dispute that had just occurred, teachers also arranged the shifts.

Prepare to arrange teachers to be on duty.

But Hachiman continued to sit in his chair, and looked straight with a blank look on his face.

Like some kind of protagonist, just staring.

After a while, a cute little angel with short golden hair just couldn’t resist and came to sit on his empty side.

”Would you like some coffee?” She seemed to have brought a drink.

”I don’t really feel like drinking water for now.” But Hachiman shook his head.

”Oh...” Kushida nodded heavily as if she understood very deeply, ”The school has arranged for Hoshinomiya-sensei to provide psychological counseling to frightened Yamamura-san. You were really decisive in this move.”

”This was the most appropriate treatment for situation at that time.”

”No. That’s not what I meant. But you actually took action earlier than Ishizaki-kun and Ryuen-kun, you were able to knock them down directly. I am a little surprised. I unexpectedly discovered that you are quite good at fighting. I thought your only advantage was your endurance.”

”.....” Hikigaya-kun was speechless, ”So... do you need psychological counseling too?”

”What’s that supposed to mean?” Kushida-chan was not impressed at all, and made a pouty face.

Although he arrived in time when the girls were being harassed, being suddenly surrounded by students from other schools might cause some psychological problems.

”I mean...you know.”

”Well, how to say...I instinctively feel that it’s better not to go to her psychological counseling.” She expressed a novel point of view.

Although she was not wrong to say that.

Since Hoshinomiya is the same type of person as her, and latter will grow up to be crooked, so it is good to reduce contact.

”I have a strong mentality. I thought it was just a normal flirtation. But maybe because they think students like Yamamura-san are easy to bully, these boys from other schools may be more aggressive. So it’s great that you stopped it.”

’In other words, do you like to bully honest people? Then this kind of person deserves to be put in solitary confinement....’ Hachiman stared at Kushida with complicated views of his own, but he didn’t say anything.

She just offered him coffee.

The school trip of other schools were temporarily suspended because of a few students, and these would definitely be put in solitary confinement.

So, Kushida-chan feels they deserve everything.

Maybe because of this incident, although students from other schools left, no one was in the mood to continue skiing.

The afternoon ended unpleasantly.

In the evening, Hikigaya finished his bath early and came to rest area.

Unlike the ski resort, hotel is completely booked by school.

There is a common area where you can relax and play table tennis, as well as massage chairs, a tea room and free vending machines.

Hachiman was about to drink a glass of milk after taking a bath, but unexpectedly discovered two strange groups in the rest area.

Both have blond hair and are male.

Hashimoto and Koenji.

What a strange combo.

In his live video, Hashimoto was actually holding a mirror for Koenji, while he was combing his hair that shines so brightly, very uncomfortable to look.

”I look so beautiful today too.”

No matter when or what class he is in, Koenji is always as confident and narcissistic.

But his figure is indeed tall and big, and muscles are bulging all over his body, with a violent aesthetic beauty.

Although Hikigaya-kun can’t appreciate it.

Now Koenji has gone to Class A, so he and Hashimoto are classmates.

But latter’s current state is still a little too flattering.

This reminded Hachiman of the time when, during training camp in forest last year, Hashimoto secretly met with Ryuen in middle of the night.

’The purpose was to place a bet on Ryuen. That is to say....Hashimoto is that type, right? It doesn’t matter who you join. As long as he can be taken to Class A, or can stay in Class A stably, he will cling to the other party. So, now he is betting on Koenji. You really know how to adapt to times....’

Hachiman thought to himself.

Thinking this, he went to the vending machine and bought milk, sat in the corner and drank it slowly.

”Yo, Hikigaya-boy.”

When Hachiman was about to throw the bottle, Koenji suddenly spoke to him, it frightened him a little.

Even discovered that Hashimoto had left at some point.

”...It would be your fault, if I had thrown it away just now, Koenji.”

”Haha! What strange things are you talking about?”

The two were classmates in the past and may become again in the future.

Just like he told Sakura that she could take some photos of Koenji, there is a high probability that he will become successful in the future, so collecting a photo could bring considerable value.

There is no need for Hachiman and Koenji to be hostile to each other.

This network of contacts can be retained.

’Although in the end I don’t know who will marry me and who will use this connection.’ This bothered Hikigaya-kun a little.

”You seemed to have seen Hashimoto just now who felt embarrassed being called a boy.” Koenji took the initiative to bring up other people’s funny items, and was exposed instantly.

”Ah...He seems to be trying to get closer to you.”

”Haha...I don’t reject others who have wisdom. They can recognize that I am excellent now and approach me.”

This can be seen from uninhabited island test last year, knowing that Ishizaki Daichi was a spy who came to him to obtain information about the leader.

So, Koenji is the type that sees everything but doesn’t speak out, and enjoys the flattering photos.

But now it seems that he also has a scale in his heart.

”But Hashimoto seems to want me to continue working hard for Class A. Most importantly, he seemed to have learned from his predecessors about my information that I had been placed in my family’s company as the heir. So, he hopes that after graduation, if there is an opportunity, I can help him out. Then I rejected him directly.”

”It does seem like intruding too much.”

”Yes, Although Hashimoto-boy has some vision, he still can’t meet my requirements.” Of course, Koenji will start using -boy again. Who can force him to do things?

Unfortunately, it seems that Hashimoto’s new bet has failed.

But, he doesn’t care about snake’s affairs.

”Come to think of it, you lost to Ayanokoji Kiyotaka during the sports festival.”

”o...O” Koenji’s left eye twitched a little, and got suddenly big after hearing disgusting words, ”Hehe...So, it wasn’t because you saw Hashimoto-boy here just now, but because you felt that I hadn’t regained my confidence from the failure in sports festival? If that’s the case, then I’m actually quite regretful. Because Hikigaya-boy doesn’t seem to fully recognize me.”

”I saw your performance at the ski resort this morning. I’m not worried about it.”

”Is that so?” Koenji then looked at Hikigaya Hachiman with a probing look, and seriously without any humour, ”Then what about Ayanokoji-boy? I used to think he was just an ordinary mortal, but later I found out that this was not the case. This time, sports festival he can even keep up with me...No, for as beautiful as me, it doesn’t suit...better to say, I don’t think he lost to me simply because of a slight gap. But he still didn’t use his full strength or took me seriously. In other words, I am not as good as him, and Ayanokoji-boy was.... disappointed.”

Maybe it was the first time that this proud genius lost, so he could talk so much.

The fact that he said so much also showed that Koenji would definitely not regain his confidence as easily as he just said.

Boy has always thought of himself as a genius. He even refused to participate in last year’s grade-wide sports festival because, he said, he didn’t want to bully ordinary people.

Result.

Now Koenji realizes that he is just a mortal.

”...Ayanokoji is a genius trained by a special institution, that is, an artificial genius. Although it is said so on the surface, I don’t think he is artificially created, but he is a genius anomaly himself, and then he went through special training. So it’s not unfair to lose to him.”

This is an analysis based on the situations of junior Amasawa and Takuya Yagami.

Amasawa is the control group, and Yagami is an ordinary White Room student. Although he was the first in 5th Generation.

However, Amasawa still had some room to spare when serving as the control group.

Therefore, title of 1st place in 5th Gen of Hachiman is given to

”Amasawa Ichika.”

At the same time, according to Amasawa, she learned from the instructor that Ayanokoji, who was the ceiling, received more difficult training than them.

Then came first place in Demonic 4th Generation.

Even while talking about it to Hachiman, Amasawa seems to be unconsciously trembling a little, he saw her body shaking....lips quivering.

’She remembered something horrible, and felt traumatized. So can we also infer that although Ayanokoji who ranked first, he is still in a low position? He can do this. In other words, natural geniuses still have the upper hand. Therefore, as Masterpiece of White Room, there is a high probability that Ayanokoji himself possesses talent, then received intensive training and fully developed it...If not, he might have been just slightly better than ordinary people. In other words, his adaptability....terrible. Then it became what it is now.’

”Really? Then it’s not unfair.” In fact, Koenji felt a little relieved.

Because he has pride and dignity, even though he lost, he still recognized Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.

The fact is that he lost. This was the first time in his life that he had lost, so it was a big blow to him.

Even thinking about whether he is just a mortal.

But now, Ayanokoji is also a genius.

So it is a competition between geniuses, so Koenji still retains the title of genius, ”But if that’s the case. Then maybe I can invite Ayanokoji. There were some problems with special exams where resigned Chairman Tsukishuro took over as Chief examiner. So maybe Ayanokoji-boy is in big trouble. Maybe I can help him....”

This means that Koenji wants to poach Ayanokoji.

If you want to recruit then go for it.

Hikigaya-kun is convinced of Ayanokoji’s ability, but he does not fully recognize the other person.

To be precise.

From his own contacts and from the acting chairman Tsukishiro, Hachiman confirmed that Ayanokoji Kiyotaka lacked emotions.

’Emotion is a contradictory thing. It can make people stronger or weaker. Ayanokoji, who has no emotions, can use and exploit this weapon at will. It means, the flawed Masterpiece Ayanokoji is someone who cannot be trusted at all....’

Therefore, Hikigaya-kun refuses to deepen the relationship with such a dangerous person who can literally do anything if it gives him results.
