COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

When Hikigaya-kun arrived at the door and looked through open peephole, he immediately noticed that there was a tall boy with a red crew cut standing outside.

This boy is no stranger, he is the recognized sports expert, Sudo.

It’s just that Hikigaya-kun is already a student in Class C, and he’s no longer in same class with you, Sudo. So why do you keep coming to see him?

Hachiman thought for a moment, then under gaze of junior Amasawa, he walked to the table and picked up his cell phone.

Then edited text message.

After a while, he received a text on his mobile phone and knocking on the door stopped.

”I’m going to go out for a while. I’ll be back as soon as possible. Besides, I packed dinner and brought it back. You can eat fir----”

Oh...

It was only at this time that Amasawa Ichika discovered that when Hikigaya-senpai came back just now, he brought back two lunch boxes.

According to her tracking... bah, her attention, Hikigaya-senpai went to Horikita-senpai’s room tonight, and she thought he went there to eat.

As if he had considered her feelings, he brought back two lunch boxes, one for her and one for himself.

He will eat with her.

Since Hikigaya-senpai treated her like this, how could she have the nerve to eat first?

So Ichika stayed in the room obediently, then took a photo and sent it to Kushida-senpai who was eating white bread alone tonight.

”Yo....Ichika’s night today~!”

Soon after Hikigaya-kun waited for Sudo to leave, he also left room, and two met in the rest hall on first floor of the dormitory.

Hikigaya just glanced at him, and then Sudo followed.

Then, two went to playground together.

There were no students at this time, so the two of them found an empty spot on lawn and sat down.

”You are in some emergency, and it would be best if no one else heard it....” Actually, Hikigaya’s room has good soundproofing.

Sudo’s voice can be heard because the peephole is open. If closed, no loud noises from inside or outside can be heard.

This made Kushida-chan quite satisfied.

However, when Hachiman found out that it was Sudo standing at his door, he tricked him away by saying that if they needed to talk without anyone else knowing, it would be better to go to another place.

As a result, Sudo really stayed in the lounge on the first floor, and then followed him to playground.

That is to say.

”Did you encounter any trouble?”

Logically speaking, Ryuen’s class isn’t looking for trouble with Sudo, so will Sudo still be bullied?

You know, Sudo is type who is tough on the outside but weak on inside, and ordinary people don’t dare to bully him.

So...then question that troubles Su---

”It’s about love, you see...”

”.....” Hikigaya-kun. ’As expected, this is indeed a topic that bothers students of this age....’

So, he started listening mode.

Sudo continued to mumble on his own, ”Actually, it was during this sports festival that Onodera asked me to form a team....We did and won quite a few events, but it was a pity that neither she nor I won first place. Koenji, is so strong, I can’t compete with him at all... I wanted to avoid him, but who knew that he would have a project overlap with mine later....So in the end he got 5 points and I only got 3... I clearly didn’t want to play against him...

Huh...

”Ah, it seems I have said too much. Actually, I have let go of the matter of Koenji...you see, there is no comparison. It’s Onodera’s problem. The sports festival has been over for a few days, but... Onodera...She actually comes to me to study after school these days!”

”Although I know that I have great physical fitness, I still need to learn something, otherwise I will lose a lot if I am expelled from school. Then sometimes Yukimura or Hirata would hold study sessions, so I would go to the classes. But now it was Onodera who took initiative to invite me to study with her, and it’s just the two of us....Today after school, my club activities were over, and she was still waiting for me to study!”

Sudo turned around excitedly and placed his hands on Hachiman’s shoulders, which made him a bit scared to be honest, ”I didn’t misunderstand, did I? Onodera, she likes me, right?”

I see.

It is indeed a topic of love.

”...As for the love aspect, it is impossible to confirm without direct contact. But it won’t develop so quickly. So you can give yourself and the other person more ti---”

”But our groups for the school trip have already been grouped together!”

Is that so? Hikigaya hasn’t checked his group information yet.

Sudo originally thought that Onodera might be interested in him, and now there is a chance for them to travel together.

Such a development may indeed develop into a romantic relationship.

”Then think about whether you should respond to her feelings. Or rather, you’re worried about what would happen if she confessed to you during school trip. Once you start to worry, it means that you have rejected her in your heart. You are not ready to accept Onodera. In other words, you have no idea about her yet, or how to respond.”

Is this so? Sudo nodded vigorously.

Isn’t Hikigaya dating Horikita?

He just listened to his advice, like an old man giving rational arguments.

Instead of what Ike said, ’eh? Is there a girl who likes you? Then you must date her, this is a good thing!’

Hikigaya seems quite rational.

For Sudo. Although it is good to have a girlfriend, but now he still wants to.

But if you have a girlfriend... wouldn’t it be better?

”….” Hikigaya-kun noticed that Sudo was really caught up in it.

’This kind of relationship is so troublesome. Even if you have no feelings for the other person, you will be shaken, or even have an impulse that will continue....I just hope that Sudo doesn’t make the same mistake as me. Because, if a girl suddenly becomes close to you, it may not necessarily mean that she likes you, but it may also be a truth or dare game....So, I should consult Kushida for Sudo later.’

”But why would you ask me such a question? Obviously, Hirata should be good at handling it.”

”Idiot or what? Because you are the only one in Class D who has a girlfriend right now, right?”

To be precise, Hikigaya is no longer the opponent student in Class D.

Sudo thought that he had a girlfriend, which should be public relationship he had with Horikita in class.

Although it only appears that they are in an open relationship, many people think so.

Hikigaya really can’t deny that he has a girlfriend. Otherwise it would be too unfair to Kushida.

”Just stay calm over there with Onodera. First of all, since you’ve never been confessed to, and never experienced being liked by the opposite sex, it’s easy to misunderstand. So, you have to rule out whether she is waiting for you tonight for truth or dare.”

”Eh... how come there’s something like this? My passion is about to disappear when I think about Onodera confessing her love to me during the school trip.” Sudo’s mood changed instantly.

”Well...I thought even though she looks ordinary, isn’t Onodera pretty good? So, if I confess my feelings to her and then reject her, and she starts crying, it will be really difficult!”

”But girls do this kind of stuff. Hey, so, I just thought she liked me, but she was actually just playing truth or dare?” Sudo hugged his head, and wanted to cry but had no tears.

’So, you are actually very impulsive, right? After all, you were thinking about being confessed by a girl. Sudo must have felt very excited just by imagining it....’.Although Hikigaya-kun knew about this kind of thing, he had never encountered it.

Ichika has confessed her love, but she is different. Hikigaya-kun thinks that there is a sense of attachment in her confession and in her relationship.

After calming Sudo down, he also returned to the dormitory to maintain a line of peace in his high school days.

”....You haven’t eaten yet?”

”I was having a video call with Kushida-senpai. Isn’t this pretty good? I made friends~~!”

Hachiman returned to dormitory and found that Amasawa was sitting obediently at the table with her hands on, as if waiting for someone, and the two lunch boxes were not opened.

”O O” Hachiman already feels quite worried about Kushida-chan’s mental health after hearing this.

”What is this suspicious face for? Hikigaya-senpai will be away from school for nearly a week, and I want to spend more time together.”

So good.

Although being confessed to might be very impulsive, and even cause a surge of hormones, Hikigaya-kun feels that a relationship that could lead to marriage is also good.

Two of them had dinner together.
