COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Ibuki was considering going to challenge made by Horikita Suzune.

”Are you saying that you are going to cooperate with Horikita on 8th project? How did this happen?”

Hikigaya-kun was shocked.

Because rules of the group combination competition do not restrict formation of teams

But everyone formed teams from their own classes, and after all, rankings had to be divided equally among the participating members, so Ibuki’s move to form a team with students from other classes was really surprising.

Of course, there is another saying, which is to deliberately form a team and then lose.

But it was obvious that Ibuki hadn’t thought of such a thing yet.

After completing his project, Hikigaya meets Ibuki who is passing by.

Originally, Hiyori and Ryuen thought that Ibuki was rather dumb, so she was considered one of the seeded players in the class, but they thought that something might go wrong with her, so they gave up on giving her task of scoring more points this time.

This is indeed the case.

Ibuki’s performance this time was not top notch.

However, it is still recommended to improve the scores as much as possible, so it is no big deal if he finds out that Ibuki has already signed up for sixth and seventh events on her own.

But how did eighth project become a team with people from other classes?

This is outrageous.

So, Hiyori arranged for Hikigaya-kun, who currently only had men’s doubles tennis event scheduled for a later time, to come over and check on Ibuki-san.

”I originally wanted to challenge Horikita Suzune. I have completed the first five mandatory events myself. But I want to seize this opportunity to compete with her. Horikita’s goal is to get first place in women’s score. She wants to transfer to Class A, and I want to go to Class B, so she will be my opponent.”

’Then you are quite competitive with Horikita. But, Ibuki-san, even if you try your best now, you won’t be able to get the first place. Because score difference is too big. You are now ranked 18th. You have been used....’

However, as an observer of humans, Master Hikigaya has discovered that rather than Ibuki’s goal to be number one or because she is unwilling to accept the result, she is actually encountering a rival and is subconsciously pestering Horikita.

It is quite a pleasure to find a competitor who is equally strong as you.

It’s a pity that Hikigaya-kun feels that his performance is mediocre. Not to mention competitors, he doesn’t even have many friends.

Although Ibuki didn’t realize it yet.

But, she was actually used by Horikita.

Feeling her strong will to be the first, Hikigaya-kun didn’t know what to say for a moment.

xxxxxxx

The competition between Horikita and Ibuki continues.

”It’s outrageous that I would run into you guys.....”

Women’s doubles tennis.

All contestants will have their information checked, and after it is completed, the system will randomly assign opponents.

There were a total of 4 groups of girls, or 8 people participating.

The rules are very simple, two teams fight against each other.

Because it is a very physically demanding sport, the two teams fight against each other, and even losing team can get a reward of 1 point.

After winning first battle, winners on both sides continue to fight.

The winner will get 10 points, which is 5 points per person, and the loser will get 3 points per person.

Now, you have entered the second round, and both sides are fighting to determine the winner.

The final winner will bring 10 points to class, while loser can also bring 6 points.

This is meaning of team battles.

You can fly with class.

Now it is Kamuro-san who is speaking.

”Am I to understand that Class C and Class D have teamed up in this sports festival?” Kamuro-san, who was wearing a red sportswear.

”That may not work.” But Horikita denied it on the spot, ”Ibuki-san and I are only working together on this project and next one.”

”What the hell? Didn’t I say that I’ll cooperate with you this time, but you will you fight me in next match?” Ibuki found it unbelievable.

”This is a win-win project, Ibuki-san. That means if we get the quota, both of us can bring points to our classes. Competition between us can also be carried out after the game is over. You may choose the day. Or are you going to ignore your class just because of a momentary anger? If so, then I am very disappointed in you.”

Today’s coldness level is very high.

....ah? How dare you look dow-----

Ibuki-san thought Horikita Suzune was so cunning. Why didn’t she keep her word?

But she could still veto it.

Since we are in sports festival now, as a member of the class, must put the class first.

At least now Ibuki hasn’t gone to Class B, and it seems that she can’t go because score gap is too big, so she can only get as many points as possible for class.

’The other girls who are good at physical fitness have their own projects, so it’s difficult to even find someone with good physical fitness to form a team. So now forming a team with Horikita... doesn’t seem impossible. Tsk, fine~damn it!’

”This is what you agreed on. You will choose a day after the sports festival to compete against me. Or I will break you door and drag you out myself.”

”Okay, Then I’ll trouble you to stand in front. I want to conserve my energy.”

”...Very good, you have annoyed me the most in this school.” Ibuki then stood in front, while Horikita-san in back.

Ibuki is responsible for blocking most of the balls.

But this approach is actually excessive, because although Horikita said that she would work with Ibuki on next project.

Now she lets Ibuki work harder, so it looks like they are working together, but Suzune has also conserved her energy and is focusing on herself.

Kushida-chan kept smiling outside the court, and occasionally looked at Ibuki-san with a caring look.

She already understood that Horikita was trying to trick Ibuki.

She shared her experience in dealing with people like Ibuki.

’So, Horikita-san, you really want to run away from Class D? But who would like a place like this?’ Even Kushida herself had already obtained ticket to Class A prepared by Hikigaya, so she had no worries at all and had already betrayed this class.

’Now I am just trying to prevent myself from being expelled from this crappy place....’ As she was thinking this, Kushida-chan noticed that Kamuro Masumi’s expression seemed to have changed a little.

”O • O !!!” Kamuro-san. ’It is obvious that players from the two classes are forming a team now and will form next time, so isn’t this a collaboration?’

That’s why Kamuro-san found it outrageous. ’Sakayanagi, the hell are you doing?!’

”fufu...take this, you stupid computer. 7-4 in favour of Sakayanagi Arisu!”

Tap! Tap! Slide~~~

As a student in Class A, Katsuragi-kun is also acting cautiously and seriously.

This time, scores of all classes will only be displayed one and a half hours before end of the sports festival.

This is probably final stimulation, they wanted to announce results in the last hour and a half, and then let classes behind them catch up.

Create an artificial climax.

Katsuragi-kun, however, had already made arrangements.

He arranged for those students who did not have outstanding physical fitness after completing compulsory projects to check scores of all 2nd-grade students every 10 minutes.

That means they have to be checked one by one.

It’s a stupid method.

But it is also considered as an effort for class, so these students have no complaints.

So now scores of the four second-grade classes ABCD are as follows.

Grade 2

Class A 454 points

Class B 446 points

Class C, 401 points

Class D, 404 points

A is now in a stalemate with B, so let Class C and Class D catch up.

The gap is too big.

Now Class A is also targeting students in Class B and wants to suppress.

The first group of students that Kamuro-san just matched with were from Class B.

”I will win here. It doesn’t matter if you team up.”

This is what people who are usually good at sports can say.

”What are you talking about? We will definitely win this round. Don’t underestimate, Ibuki-san.”

”Yeah, what Horikita said. I think so too. After all, we are a 1+1 team here, and your group relies on just you, Kamuro, right?”

”Ibuki Mio, Horikita Suzune.”

Kamuro-san was just trying to add some points to the class and not lose in her own project.

Results now.

A little angry.

She decided to curb the arrogance of these two ignorant girls.

”Yamamura, just stay back. These two are very cocky.”

The other party is relatively introverted, and is usually only assigned by Sakayanagi to do tracking-related work.

”I, I’ll try my best.”

When it comes to sports, Yamamura Miki is not good at all.

But Kamuro-san told her that she just had to stand at the back and girl herself would be responsible for catching all the balls in front, so she just had to fish around.

”Hmph.” Kamuro-san looked at Ibuki and Horikita Suzune with dissatisfaction, ”Victory is ours! Let you experience the difference between our classes.”

In this way, Kamuro-san, who is full of fighting desire, begins to engage in battle.

”Bring it on!”

”Fuhuhuuuuu!!~~~!”

”Hai Hai! Hai!”

”Come on boys, we are taking bets!”

”Traahhh!!! Traaahh~~~!”

”That’s right. Increase it everybody.”

”Oyaaah! Pool more, 200 won’t do!”

”Let’s go Horikita-san. Wohhoo!! I bet 1785 on you! Fuhuuuuu!~~”

Whistle~~ Bloww~!

”Ahhhh I have no money, but I come to cheer you Horikita!”

Um....There are some fans over here.
