Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1295 - 663: Giant Worm Besieging the City! (2)

And in his direction was precisely where the giant insect was probing, which meant the missile that was just launched came from his men!

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone around him simultaneously turned to look at a trembling person.

”I... I...”

The man’s face was deathly pale, his body shivering, teeth chattering, and he didn’t dare to look at the scene outside: ”I didn’t mean to... I’m afraid of insects, I’ve had a phobia since childhood, such a large insect, I couldn’t control myself...”

It turned out that one of them was overly terrified by the giant insect’s gaze, causing his hand to shake.

But everyone else just glanced at him and then shifted their attention to the giant insect several kilometers away.

At this moment, as the explosion’s fire dissipated and the smoke rose, the part of the giant insect that had been hit was revealed.

It was not completely unscathed, and even had a considerably large wound.

Even a regular missile is something flesh and blood cannot withstand!

But, under the stunned gaze of the crowd, the wound healed at a speed visible to the naked eye!

Even within the World Tree, where the external scene is slowed down a hundred times, it was still visibly rapid!

In just three seconds, the wound completely healed.

Three seconds within the World Tree!

Outside of the World Tree, it’s only thirty milliseconds, and at that recovery rate, you probably wouldn’t even see the wound healing process from outside, only see the skin intact despite being bombarded!

”This recovery speed...” Ji Chaoyang nervously watched the giant insect.

Fortunately, the giant insect outside the World Tree did not seem angered by this shelling.

It seemed indifferent to the ticklish damage caused by the World Tree.

It merely glanced in the direction of the World Tree and continued to burrow out from underground.

The position it emerged from was actually the previous lake!

At this point, there was no water left in the lake, only a giant insect filling it as it squirmed outward.

The imposing presence of this sudden giant insect was so strong that it temporarily halted the firefight on both sides.

For a moment, the bombardment that had lasted nearly an hour became sporadic, as both sides seemed to be observing every move of this giant insect.

The giant insect seemed completely unconcerned about the battlefield, and continued moving its mountain-like body, crawling out from the former lake.

It appears to be squirming, but due to its enormous size, it’s moving at a speed of almost twenty meters per second.

Even so, after a whole minute, its body had not completely emerged.

A minute within the World Tree had already been more than an hour.

By now, used to the outside scene, those within the World Tree no longer felt panic over the external situation.

They even started to place bets.

”Haha, you lost! Just the portion of the giant insect that has emerged is already over a kilometer long!”

”Fuck, that’s too long! Don’t get cocky, your guess of fifteen hundred meters is probably almost there, right?”

”According to the World Tree’s calculations, it’s now already emerged 1245 meters!”

”That length is terrifying...”

”The insect’s diameter is over a hundred meters, so wouldn’t a few kilometers in length be normal? I bet two thousand meters!”

”I bet three thousand meters!”

In these few minutes since the giant insect appeared, the alien invaders stopped attacking and began observing.

To avoid inadvertently attracting the variable of the giant insect, Ji Chaoyang also issued orders for them to cease their attack.

Their mission was to delay the alien invasion force as long as possible, and now that the enemy had stopped attacking, they naturally wouldn’t provoke the situation themselves.

A ceasefire is good, as long as they stay, the longer the better.

And the giant insect continued slowly and steadily squirming outward.

”Over fifteen hundred meters!”

”Sixteen hundred meters!”

”Eighteen hundred meters!”

”Two thousand meters! Broken through two thousand meters!”

The people inside the World Tree continued to exclaim in surprise.

”Hey... why do I feel like this insect is trying to encircle us?” someone suddenly spoke up, ”Look, its body is curving towards us, isn’t it?”

The crowd looked and sure enough, the giant insect’s head was shifting in the direction of Crystal City.

”What are you thinking? Do you know how big Crystal City is? It’s five kilometers in length and width! If it wants to encircle Crystal City, even sticking close to it would require nearly twenty kilometers of length, how is that possible?”

”...Are you sure it’s impossible?”

”...It shouldn’t be, right? It’s just two hundred meters wide, if it’s twenty kilometers long, that means its length is over a hundred times its width... from an overall perspective, that’s way too thin...”

”’Just’ two hundred meters wide? Too thin?”

”Bull, bro, I can’t match your perspective.”

”I’m just being realistic, alright!”

No matter how the people within the World Tree speculated, it couldn’t affect the outward squirming of the giant insect.

Its squirming speed began to accelerate.

Three thousand meters...

Four thousand meters...

The people inside the World Tree were already somewhat numb to it.

There were even bets on a twenty-kilometer length.

But then, the situation changed.

The alien invaders couldn’t hold back any longer.

Countless shells started flying towards them, and the target was the giant insect!
