Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1271 - 654: A Small Band of Rebels (3)

”They are incredibly powerful, and we cannot resist at all. So we are forced to do these things. What we can do is complete our tasks and ensure the safety of those who survive.”

This was what the man originally said to Shi Wanyun and the other two women.

He also said at that time that sending Shi Wanyun and the others to kill Xu Xin was because Xu Xin’s actions would anger the alien invaders, causing them to slaughter the survivors, so killing Xu Xin was to protect other survivors.

No one present believed his words at that time.

But now it seems...

He couldn’t have really thought that way, could he?

Moreover, he also gave Shi Wanyun a World Tree surrounded by oceans, which the alien invaders most loathe and fear, and this time, the reason he gave for opening the world channel was also for the benefit of the survivors.

Even without a divine command, he made the decision himself!

If he were brainwashed by the alien invaders, like the middle-aged man beside him, who respects the alien invaders so much, how could he have made the ”forced to do so” statement in the ocean-surrounded World Tree? How could he open the world channel without the alien invaders’ permission?

Although opening the world channel isn’t a significant matter, the middle-aged man’s sudden angry stance made Xu Xin realize that this was the response and action from someone brainwashed.

”You... haven’t been brainwashed?”

Xu Xin’s words made the other side silent for more than ten seconds.

During this silence, Xu Xin gradually confirmed his guess.

It seems to be true.

The other side really hasn’t been brainwashed!

His actions are indeed for more survivors to live, for humanity!

”Since you can say the word brainwashing, it means you haven’t been brainwashed either.” The other side finally spoke.

The other side should have mistaken him as a member of the survivors from a thousand years ago.

After all, even the middle-aged man called him sir; in the other side’s view, Xu Xin’s status should be quite high.

”Yes. I haven’t.” Xu Xin didn’t deny it. He indeed hasn’t been brainwashed.

”Then you should understand my actions. Everything I do is for the continuation of our race.”

The other side’s voice remains calm, even giving the impression that he felt relieved.

In his view, someone who hasn’t been brainwashed is much easy to communicate with.

After learning this news from the other side’s mouth, Xu Xin’s eyes brightened.

Is it really like this!

Indeed, among the survivors in this space-time, there are rebels who won’t be brainwashed!

It’s just that, influenced by various factors, the number of rebels in this world has drastically reduced.

But a drastic reduction doesn’t mean none!

This group of rebels is very small.

In another space-time, Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s organization not only has a large number of members unaffected by brainwashing but also has monsters bringing them advanced alien technology, so they developed to such a strong level.

In this space-time, the number of survivors who won’t be brainwashed has greatly reduced, and there’s no existence like monsters to provide them technology; their power is very weak.

Thus, what they can do is only help these survivors to ensure as many of them as possible survive the selection process.

”You don’t need to worry; I’m on the same side as you.” Xu Xin said.

”I see...” The other side’s tone obviously relaxed, ”That’s good. Was that person just now really a servant of the divine...”

Xu Xin glanced at the slightly confused middle-aged man and said, ”Let’s not talk about this now; I have some questions to ask you.”

”Ask away.”

”How many people do you have now?”

”...Your question makes me wary.”

The opposite side didn’t answer directly: ”The man beside you is a direct subordinate of the divine, right? From my understanding of them, if they were brainwashed, then they can’t possibly lie in this aspect, because it’s their supreme belief. What’s his situation exactly?”

”Perhaps you don’t know, your ’divine’ internally isn’t united.” Xu Xin suddenly said.

”...What are you trying to say?” The other side first was silent, then said somewhat surprised.

”The divine also have their own thoughts. For example, the divine we’re currently dealing with wants to help us.” Xu Xin smiled, ”Actually, I’m a survivor. Now, I’m working with your divine.”

The other side is a human who hasn’t been brainwashed.

The other side can become one of us.

But over the course of a thousand years, this small group of rebels probably can’t resist their ”divine” anymore.

However, if there is a ”divine” standing on the survivors’ side, standing on humanity’s side,

what choice would they make?

If we could pull them into our camp and have a foothold in the other hemisphere...

Then perhaps, we can truly start considering and implementing that reckless plan!

Drive the alien invaders out of Earth!

”What’s your opinion on this?” Xu Xin asked.
