Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1260 - 651: Worship and Rapid Development

This time, Xu Ying actually brought back over ten thousand people directly from the underground world.

That’s right, according to Wei Shishi’s statistics, there are a total of 12,589 people.

”What...what?!”

Everyone present was shocked.

”Why are there so many people?”

”Brother, do you remember the two reporters we met in the underground world?” Xu Ying asked Xu Xin.

Two reporters...?

”Ah...those two people.”

Xu Xin recalled for a moment before remembering.

After all, they weren’t important figures, and it had been several months since Xu Xin returned from the underground world, spent in the world tree.

Of course, only a day had passed in the underground world.

But within that single day, news of Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s appearance had already spread throughout the underground world.

The image of the two wearing masks and sunglasses had long been transmitted through the network into every household.

Because of the appearance of divine beings, the entire underground world was in an uproar. This was all thanks to those two reporters.

Therefore, after Xu Xin and Xu Ying left, the Wei Family released information saying they wanted to bring some people to the surface, which immediately received a response.

In just one day, there were over ten thousand people requesting to follow the divine beings to live on the surface.

This number, compared to the billion population of the underground world’s base, is just one ten-thousandth, so proportionally it isn’t much.

After all, the news had only been out for a day, and not many could decide to leave their homes within such a short time.

To be honest, even Xu Ying was surprised by the number.

This was thanks to Xu Xin and Xu Ying, the ”divine beings” who stood tall in the city’s center for a millennia.

In the closed and unchanging environment of the underground world base, religious faith is very easy to take root and grow.

The religion with Xu Xin and Xu Ying as divine beings is the largest religious group in the underground world, and it has been passed down for nearly a thousand years.

Of course, religion in the underground world can’t hold power, so their influence isn’t significant.

But the number of their followers isn’t small, even passed down through generations.

These people believe that someday in the future, their divine beings will lead them back to the surface world, to see the sun again, and rebuild their true homeland.

So, when their divine beings appeared and wanted to lead them back to the surface, they had no hesitation.

This is why, within just one day, over ten thousand people wished to follow Xu Ying back to the surface.

”These ten thousand are only the first batch,” Xu Ying said wearily.

Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s followers spread throughout the entire human base in the underground world.

According to Wei Shishi, most of the followers are now heading towards this central city.

Railways are the main form of transportation in the underground world, developed over a thousand years, with speeds far surpassing those from a millennium ago, so it would only take two days for all these followers to reach the central city and gather beneath their divine beings’ statue.

Xu Xin and Xu Ying are officially recognized divine beings in the underground world, almost a universal faith, their number of religious followers is vast.

Among them, those who can abandon everything to follow their divine beings, the ultimate fanatical believers, are also considerable in number.

Even if these people are a small proportion of the total population, there are definitely tens of thousands!

Now, these people are all heading towards the central city.

This wave of fanatical pursuit among followers has also impacted ordinary people.

Currently, some people have already been influenced, beginning to feel curiosity and yearning towards the surface, towards the environment where humans are supposed to live.

These people are mostly young, without much deep emotional attachment to their hometown or fear of the surface world ingrained deeply, and haven’t reached an age of settling for the status quo.

They possess vibrant energy, exactly the kind of people Xu Xin and Xu Ying need.

And when Wei Family’s patriarch Wei Shishi announced that the Wei Family would withdraw from the underground world and return to the surface with the divine beings, this trend became increasingly evident.

Indeed, the Wei Family also played a hand in this.

Having experienced those events in the underground world, Wei Shishi knew all too well there was no bright future continuing to stay underground.

Alien invaders had already discovered this place; they couldn’t remain inactive any longer.

Moreover, since its establishment a millennium ago, the Wei Family’s existence is dedicated to helping humans return to the surface and reclaim Earth.

Therefore, after Xu Xin and Xu Ying’s departure and the Wei Family’s recruitment of those wishing to return to the surface, Wei Shishi, after careful consideration, announced to the entire base the Wei Family’s decision to return to the surface.

This news made many families in the current underground world base consider whether to migrate to the surface.

After all, it’s the Wei Family that’s been protecting the underground world!

Of course, the Wei Family warned all underground residents that following them back to the surface was tantamount to participating in the war to reclaim the surface, fighting for the future of humanity, requiring deep and thoughtful consideration.

The Wei Family is a military family, renowned for strong mobilization capabilities, so while some were intimidated, many more were energized, wishing to advance and retreat alongside the fate of all humankind.

Thus, a wave of following divine beings and the Wei Family back to the surface to fight against alien invaders to the end kicked off.

”In another day, the number willing to come to the surface will at least multiply several times, even tenfold, dozens of times, a hundred times,” Xu Ying said, pursing her lips. ”I don’t know whether we should be happy or worried.”
