Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1264 - 652: Catch a Survivor from 1,000 Years Ago for Interrogation (2)

”After all, this is your territory. If we drive away those alien invaders, this planet will be yours. So, I plan to let my children at least communicate normally with you, and this attire is very necessary. I am merely setting an example.”

The creature directly followed Xu Xin and others’ terminology, referring to those on the other hemisphere of Earth as ”alien invaders.”

And the children it mentioned were naturally the individuals of the new species it is currently creating.

Xu Xin glanced behind it, where a small patch of treehouses had already formed.

These treehouses presumably housed quite a few of these individuals.

Moreover, it seemed that it had already released quite a few of the mutated humans.

Indeed, someone was already sneaking a peek from the window.

”You really like living in trees.” Xu Xin said.

”Treehouses are not just residences, but also laboratories. My children’s condition needs regular inspections, and inside the treehouses is most suitable.” The creature explained, ”Besides, I’m used to living in treehouses.”

The alien invaders’ habitation on Earth had always been the world tree.

Compared to the houses Xu Xin and the others now lived in, the creatures born on Earth who had only lived in the world tree naturally preferred treehouses.

”I see.” Xu Xin nodded and no longer wasted words, ”I came to find you because something happened outside.”

He explained the situation outside.

”You can communicate between various regions again?” The creature’s dozen or so eyes displayed a frown and squinting expression, ”After I left, there should have been no one hosting the situation. That’s indeed strange. In my opinion, the survival plan should have perished. Hmm... perhaps you humans did it?”

”We humans?” Xu Xin murmured.

”Yes, the execution of the survival selection was originally handed over to those ancient survivors, who already had control authority.”

Xu Xin slowly nodded.

”I understand.”

He immediately turned to leave.

But before he could activate the coordinates, a purple-black vortex converged on the coordinates, and Ji Chaoyang emerged from it.

Seeing Xu Xin, and then glancing at the creature behind him, Ji Chaoyang’s eyebrows subtly moved: ”It seems you’ve already asked what needs to be asked.”

Xu Xin nodded: ”Perhaps now we should find an ancient survivor and ask about the current situation.”

...

In that treehouse, always used for meetings, the members of the exploration team gathered together again after two months.

”Hasn’t the world channel just opened? There’s no need for such grandeur, right?” Wang Lei said indifferently, ”Perhaps the other side simply got lazy with control, and the world channel opened by itself?”

Wen Guixin couldn’t resist slapping Wang Lei on the head: ”Can’t you stop thinking everything will take a turn for the best? We’re in the most critical moment now!”

After discovering she was the mother of that creature in another timeline, Wen Guixin was dazed for a few days before returning to normal.

Furthermore, she had fully mastered her abilities, as she no longer feared passing mental toxins upon contact with others.

Moreover, she had become the ”radical faction” within the exploration team, always advocating for active engagement, asserting that it was time to reveal claws and implement the plan.

”For us now, any slight movement is worth vigilance.” Ji Chaoyang said.

Li Wenxi elbowed Xu Xin, who was sitting next to her: ”Judging by the way you look, have you already thought of a solution?”

She had just rushed up from the underground world; just moments ago, she was supervising those collecting resources there.

”Our plan is simple, that is, to capture an ancient survivor and interrogate them. We should be able to gather some information on the situation now.”

”Capture an ancient survivor...? Ah, you’re thinking of...” Lou Fei’Er realized.

During this period, apart from the frequent fuzzy creatures outside the world tree, there had always been an ancient survivor roaming nearby.

Xu Xin turned to Qin Fu, who was leaning against the window, and asked: ”That guy has been around all this time, right?”

Qin Fu nodded: ”Yes, that guy appeared last night, circled Crystal City quite a few times, and hasn’t left. If you hadn’t told me not to act, I’d have blown him up with a cannon long ago.”

”The middle-aged man who had us lure Xu Xin outside the world tree has really been here all along.” Shi Wanyun said softly.

”That person is the most suitable capture target.” Xu Xin said, ”With his status, he should also know some details.”

He was an ancient survivor but not a maintainer of order. His own strength wasn’t very powerful, making him relatively easier to capture alive.

According to the agreement between him and Shi Wanyun and the other two, they should have lured Xu Xin out of the world tree and Crystal City’s area yesterday. Then, he would act to subdue Xu Xin and find his son.

But because the world tree had already restricted teleportation capabilities of non-friendly units within dozens of kilometers around it, this led to the other party failing and not showing up during daytime yesterday.

Thus, he was only discovered circling around Crystal City last night.
