Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1255 - 649: Altar and Petrified Creatures_2

”It is now, but what if alien invaders attack?” Xu Xin retorted.

”That’s still a long way off...” Lou Fei’Er couldn’t help but quietly argue back.

”Soon? Heh...”

Xu Xin glanced out the window, looking in the direction of the monsters.

This is not early at all.

Why would the monsters command such a vast and orderly army of Stone Giant Beasts to march step by step from afar?

Although there is the limitation that free teleportation is not possible around the World Tree, more importantly...

This way is more conspicuous.

No doubt, that monster is using its own method to implement the plan it mentioned, the plan to make the World Tree conspicuous and then besieged by alien invaders!

Such a mass entry of Stone Giant Beasts into Crystal City and then subdued, is an extremely dangerous signal to the alien invaders!

Earth’s human forces are gradually expanding, and they even have giant beasts!

And these are Stone Giant Beasts that they know nothing about!

If alien invaders discover this, wouldn’t they pay more attention to this World Tree?

Of course, they would.

”This...”

Li Wenxi and Lou Fei’Er immediately turned pale upon hearing this.

”...Do you think the alien invaders might have already guessed that the monster is hiding here with us?” Li Wenxi shook her lips and said.

”...They might not be sure, but they definitely suspect it.” Xu Xin nodded lightly.

”Yes... the monster was exposed because of this World Tree. Now that it’s escaped from the alien invaders, where else can it run?” Lou Fei’Er’s face was also a bit sullen, ”If I were an alien invader, I would definitely suspect this World Tree first!”

No doubt, this is also one of the alien invaders’ stratagems.

The monster told Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang that even if it doesn’t come, the alien invaders will certainly be suspicious of this World Tree.

So they must be prepared.

”Wow... what are we going to do, it’s getting more and more tense...” Li Wenxi grabbed Xu Xin’s arm and squeezed it, ”It’s like having only a few days left until the exam, but you haven’t reviewed a single subject...”

What a peculiar analogy...

”What are you afraid of! We have a hundred times the time!” Although Lou Fei’Er said so, her somewhat forced smile clearly showed she was a bit nervous too.

Xu Xin wasn’t too nervous for the time being.

They now had some self-defense capabilities. A hundred times the time flow, and the hypersonic missile carrying a nuclear warhead, this was not a joke.

Unless they really launch a large-scale attack, it won’t pose much threat here.

But given the monster’s description of the current internal chaos among the alien invaders, sending troops to invade here would not be an easy task.

Of course, small scale harassment is likely inevitable.

Perhaps it might come soon.

”In any case, all we can do is to improve ourselves as quickly as possible.” Xu Xin said.

Then, he slightly furrowed his brow.

”What are you thinking about?” Li Wenxi leaned against him and asked upon seeing his expression.

”Oh... it’s about our matters.”

After that, he and Ji Chaoyang asked Long Yin and the monster many questions.

Xu Xin also brought up the doubts in his heart.

But... he didn’t get the answers he wanted.

First, he asked the monster about the altar.

As a result, he learned from the monster that it did not build the altar.

It was only after discovering that a group of people, including Xu Xin, were sent to the future, that it found those two strange altars nearby.

Just around here, there are two in total, one near Xu Xin’s treehouse at the time, and one near Ji Chaoyang’s treehouse.

It could sense space-time energy from the altar, as well as a special energy.

The monster was very surprised when sensing this special energy, as it felt very familiar with it.

This energy was almost identical to the special energy that it had been researching out of curiosity for decades, the energy found in humans trapped in dungeons, who for some unknown reason could still move and even control surrounding stones after being petrified!

Both altars contained this energy.

The altar’s energy at that time was also very aggressive, petrifying any creature that entered the altar directly and devouring them!

Yes, devouring, with the recessed ground directly swallowing them down.

But they weren’t dead; they were petrified. To rescue a devoured creature, one had to sacrifice the flesh or most special part of their kind to free the petrified creature from its state.

...

”Ah, are you talking about that altar surrounded by hills?” Li Wenxi exclaimed, ”Isn’t it near where we found the giant’s head?”

”Yes, that’s the altar. At that time, there was also a similar altar on Ji Chaoyang’s side. We used that altar to resurrect and kill intermediate mutant creatures, which was how we got the first and second place on the leaderboard back then.” Xu Xin said.

”Ah, I know this.” Li Wenxi nodded, ”You told me before.”

”Huh? What are you talking about...” Lou Fei’Er was confused, ”Are you talking about the hunting event?”

She hadn’t heard about this matter.

At that time, she was still in Zone 187, and later she wanted to kill Xu Xin and was captured. For a long time, she wasn’t trusted, so naturally, she hadn’t heard about this.
