Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1294 - 663: The Giant Worm Besieging the City!

The white hills slowly rose from the location of the lake, gradually revealing their original appearance under everyone’s shocked gaze.

”Oh my God!”

”What... what is this thing?!”

”A worm?! Is... is it a worm?”

”You must be joking, how could there be such a giant worm?!”

”But... but...”

The milky white giant worm slowly crawled out from the lake, gradually revealing a small part of its massive body.

But even this small part already brought an incomparable shock to everyone present.

A giant worm, hundreds of meters thick, milky white, slowly wriggling!

This giant worm only crawled out its head from the underground and it already felt like a mountain!

It must be nearly two hundred meters high, right?

Just the diameter of this worm’s body is nearly two hundred meters?!

Two hundred meters, what concept is that?

The height of fifty or sixty floors!

With just this thickness, one can’t even begin to imagine its length.

It’s probably... at least a few kilometers long!

Even the head of this worm, just emerging from the underground, could make people feel dizzy.

A fear elicited by a creature vastly exceeding the norm!

And among the people present, inevitably there are those with a fear of worms. After all, they are just ordinary people from the underground world, not that strong-willed. Upon seeing this terrifying beast, some have started to feel weak in the knees and trembling.

”It’s really... really a worm! Holy... it’s really a worm!”

”Oh my God, oh my God, is its head turning towards us?!”

”Where... where did this worm emerge from?! Did it come up from the underground!”

”What on earth is happening in this world?!”

The explorers who are still presiding over the situation, looking at this colossal worm that seems to be able to pierce the world full of holes, held their breath one by one.

”It... it shouldn’t be here to attack us, right?” Qi Xuefei clutched Ji Chaoyang’s arm and asked.

”...Not sure.” Ji Chaoyang’s pupils contracted tightly, he stared at the giant worm’s every move and simultaneously issued an order, ”Everyone controlling the exterior weapons aimed at the worm, aim your weapons at this giant worm! But do not fire, do not act rashly!”

Ji Chaoyang’s order also calmed everyone present.

”Quick! Everyone aim at the worm!”

”Yeah, we have weapons, what are we afraid of!”

”Hell, although it’s a huge thing, it’s still just a creature. I refuse to believe that our nuclear weapons can’t kill it!”

”Are you mad?! Don’t use nuclear weapons! That place is only two kilometers away from the outskirts of Crystal City! Do you want to blow us up too?!”

”The World Tree will protect us! Conventional weapons can’t possibly deal with such a monster!”

”Everyone! Calm down!”

Ji Chaoyang spoke again, causing the surroundings to quiet down once more.

”We’ve encountered this giant worm in the underground world before, and it was very friendly to us, it even helped us return to the surface. We should remain vigilant, but do not provoke it intentionally!”

The crowd was astonished again.

”The explorers have met this giant worm?!”

”Incredible, incredible!”

”Oh my God, the explorers and this giant worm are old acquaintances?”

”Could it be here to help us?”

”Ah! That giant worm is already looking over here!”

The speed of events inside and outside the World Tree are different, although there has already been a commotion inside for a while, outside the World Tree only a few seconds have passed.

And during these few seconds, the terrifying giant head of the worm emerged from the ground, completely turning towards the World Tree.

On its massive head, numerous pairs of eerie, pitch-black eyes seemed to meet with everyone inside the World Tree.

Everyone present held their breath.

The giant worm has dozens of pairs of insect eyes, each eye is a pitch-black dot, small compared to the worm’s body, but each dot exceeds one meter in diameter!

Being stared at by dozens of such eyes, it’s extremely difficult not to feel fear!

”Boom!”

At this moment, a shell fired from the crown of the World Tree, speeding towards the worm!

This sudden situation made everyone gasp in astonishment.

A shell flying at fifty times the speed of sound rushed toward the mountain-like body of the worm, then...

”Bang!”

It exploded loudly on its head!

The people present felt suffocating as they watched this slow-motion scene unfold.

”Who?!” Ji Chaoyang immediately turned to look at others, his gaze sharp.

”It wasn’t me!”

”Are you crazy? Who fired that?!”

”You must be insane! The worm might not even be an enemy!”

”It’s over, it’s over, even if it wasn’t an enemy, it’ll become one now!”

The explosion only lasted for a moment, but the World Tree extended this moment a hundredfold.

And this hundredfold time is extremely agonizing for those inside the World Tree!

”Should we... should we directly attack now?!”

”We’ve already provoked it, might as well go all out, directly...!”

”Shut your mouths, follow the leaders’ commands! Who told you to act on your own? And who attacked just now?!”

One person suddenly looked around.

He was a soldier from the underground Wei Family, responsible for coordinating attacks in one of the eight directions surrounding the World Tree.
