Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1274 - 655: Giant Core, Behemoth Catalysis (Part 3)

Xu Xin and his team had been staying inside the World Tree for so long, but only three or four days had passed outside. During these few days, the growth rate of those creatures was indeed very fast, and their size had already doubled.

But even doubling their size wasn’t enough.

If they had a few months, they might grow into giant beasts in Crystal City.

But now, where do Xu Xin and his team have a few months?

Who knows when the alien invaders will attack...

The World Tree has it, but Crystal City can’t be moved to the World Tree.

”That’s right, with the nurturing of Crystal City, those mutant creatures grow too slowly. By using this acceleration, they can quickly grow into giant beasts in a short time, guarding the surroundings of the World Tree! We used this method when we cultivated giant beasts initially.”

”There are already quite a few Stone Giant Beasts outside, aren’t there?” Li Wenxi said, ”Do we need more? If there are too many... with their size, they won’t fit, will they?”

”It’s not that many yet.” Xu Ying waved her hand and said, ”Those Stone Giant Beasts can guard one direction, but having them guard all directions around the World Tree is difficult. Moreover...”

Xu Ying pursed her lips, ”I don’t fully trust the stone creatures. It feels like we still need our own forces around us. Relying solely on stone creatures seems unreliable.”

”Ying? Ying Ying!” Keke raised her little head from the Crystal Ball, waving her small paw, ”Ying!”

She was saying those stone creatures are fine.

”This little one really trusts the stone creatures.”

Xu Ying walked over, wanting to pick up Keke.

However, Keke moved her limbs, rolled the Crystal Ball beneath her, and swiftly distanced herself from Xu Ying: ”Ying!”

”You’ve just returned, and Keke must have sensed the temporal disturbances on you again, right?” Xu Xin shook his head.

Now, Keke had gotten used to Xu Ying’s state and no longer kept a distance from her, but she still didn’t want to touch her.

”Ah, probably.” Xu Ying pouted and turned to Xu Xin, ”The light from the Crystal Ball can accelerate the growth of creatures with giant beast bloodlines around, so let’s act quickly.”

The following actions were straightforward.

Xu Xin first contacted the members of the explorers, informing them of the situation.

With everyone’s consent, he once again came outside the World Tree.

Li Wenxi came with him, holding Keke. Xu Ying didn’t come out. Having just returned, her current state was not suitable for repeatedly entering the World Tree, so Xu Xin kept her inside.

Xu Xin immediately found Mimi on the outskirts of Crystal City.

During this period, Mimi had always been outside the World Tree, among the outer mutant creature groups.

Now, as the king of these mutant creatures, it naturally stayed with them.

”Ying Ying?!” Keke exclaimed in surprise.

”Wow!” Li Wenxi also gasped, ”Mimi now... has grown this big?”

Mimi was already quite large initially, and after living in Crystal City for three or four days under its influence, its size doubled.

Its body length should be four or five meters now.

It’s practically the size of a small Tyrannosaurus.

Although its size grew larger, it still gave off an impression of slimness, and its speed was just as fast.

No, it was even faster.

Mimi spotted them from hundreds of meters away, and in a second or two, it had leaped to their side.

It’s almost supersonic with just a bit more speed...

And this surely isn’t even its fastest burst speed yet.

Xu Xin activated mind-reading and began communicating with Mimi.

”Ying Ying, Ying!” Keke waved her small paw nearby to assist with the communication.

[Select a hundred strong and loyal mutant creatures to become giant beasts? Alright, understood.]

Mimi’s thoughts echoed in Xu Xin’s mind, and then it vanished without a trace.

...

Eventually, over a hundred mutant creatures gathered under the World Tree.

”Leave the next task to me, boss.”

Qin Fu held the Crystal Ball, speaking to Xu Xin.

He’s now the permanent ”guard” outside the World Tree, responsible for managing those currently staying outside the World Tree and monitoring the surrounding dangers.

It’s hard to bring giant beasts into the World Tree, so they can only be accelerated in growth outside, making Qin Fu the perfect person for the job.

”I can help too.”

Chang Yin was there as well.

His relationship with Qin Fu had gotten really good now.

It makes sense; with Qin Fu’s personality, he could get along well with anyone.

Xu Xin looked at this batch of mutant creatures.

He had a premonition.

Once these giant beasts successfully accelerate their growth, the alien invaders might really arrive.

Having a hundred powerful giant beasts surrounding the World Tree, isn’t that the kind of show of force the monsters want?
