Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1256 - 649: The Altar and Petrified Creatures (3)

”It’s like this...” Li Wenxi explained to her briefly.

”Ah... There’s actually such a magical place?” Lou Fei’Er was surprised, then her eyes shifted, ”Wait... So... If you want the Chang Yin Family to return to their human bodies, wouldn’t it require... human flesh and the special parts of their bodies?”

Logically speaking, that’s indeed the case.

Especially since the special energy in the Chang Yin Family’s bodies is the same as the energy in the altar.

Therefore, the monsters commanded people to create mysterious sounds to tell the Chang Yin Family that there’s an altar on the surface, and through sacrifice, they could return to human form.

Thus, the Chang Yin Family left Xu Xin after coming to the surface.

Xu Xin later found traces of the Chang Yin Family’s sacrifices at the altar.

However, it seemed the Chang Yin Family used the tools in their possession for the sacrifice, so it wasn’t successful, and they were deceived into the underground world by alien invaders for an experiment on petrified giant beasts.

”Terrifying... I remember you said, to shatter a stone statue and let a living creature emerge, you’d need to kill at least hundreds of their kind, right?” Li Wenxi mumbled, ”Then the Chang Yin Family...”

If according to this ratio, for them to turn back from stone statues to humans, they’d at least need to...

Sacrifice hundreds of humans.

Chang Yin fell silent upon learning this fact too.

But he also said, it’s good to return to human form, but he doesn’t mind if they can’t, at least the stone statue bodies feel safer now.

”Hmm... How did Chang Yin become a stone statue in the first place?” Li Wenxi asked again.

”...Don’t know.” Xu Xin shook his head.

”Ah? Didn’t Chang Yin tell you?”

”He did, but... he said he became a stone statue because of the first batch of survivors.” Xu Xin said.

When Xu Xin first met Chang Yin, he had already revealed some information.

The first batch of survivors did some very excessive things to the Chang Yin Family.

The first batch of survivors, those brought by the monsters, the first group of humans from a thousand years ago, were the only group initially surviving together.

Since they were the first batch, the selection was immature, very different from the survivor selection now.

In such harsh environments, group survival, without law, everything was dictated by strength, and the evil nature of the strong was infinitely magnified.

Not everyone was like this, but among the strong in that first batch of survivors, such people were not few.

And coincidentally, it was these people who encountered the Chang Yin Family underground.

What those people did to the Chang Yin Family, Chang Yin did not say.

But Xu Xin suddenly remembered, at that time, on the stone table underground, those chilling inscriptions.

Amid those chaotic scribblings, there were few legible words.

”They are all demons.”

”Kill me, I want to die.”

”You shall die miserably.”

Seeing them back then, Xu Xin was chilled to the bone.

And it was during this process that the Chang Yin Family became petrified, and then the batch of survivors entering the underground city were turned into monsters worse than death by the Chang Yin Family, forever trapped underground, in the water-flooded city.

So, Chang Yin always felt that it was those survivors who petrified him.

Just, they messed up and ultimately got killed by him.

But the monster said it’s impossible, that the first batch of survivors couldn’t possibly have such power.

”Hey, hey, wait a minute!” Li Wenxi interrupted Xu Xin, bewildered, ”Weren’t the survivors the first batch from forty-eight years ago? Was Chang Yin still human forty-eight years ago? He also went through the disaster a thousand years ago? Who is he really? A thousand-year survivor? Lived till fifty years ago? Is he a lackey of the alien invaders?”

”...Don’t know. At least from Chang Yin’s mouth, he didn’t know this, he was even unbelievably shocked at realizing this is a world a thousand years later.”
