Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1281 - 658: Prophecy, the Great War Approaches! (Part 2)

”You...”

”I didn’t expect... you pathetic humans could actually gain the assistance of deities...” Before Xu Ying could ask, the man on the floor stared blankly at the ceiling, his lips trembling slightly as he spoke, ”If it weren’t for the deities, how could I...”

He blamed all of these events on the monsters.

Including the carpet bombing before, his capture, and now, his impending death.

Even now, he still believed that humans were not capable of doing such things.

Those present shook their heads one by one.

These, they were all achieved through humans’ own strength.

The monsters had hardly helped them in any significant way so far.

Those weapons were brought out from the underground human bases, representing the most advanced and sophisticated human technology.

Of course, in another timeline, the monsters did assist humans, and their contribution cannot be erased, but without human effort, the time machine would never have been invented, and none of this would have happened.

”Oh, I forgot to tell you, I am not your deity.” The monster spoke at this moment. It walked to the hideous man’s front, all eyes outside its clothes opened, looking down at him, ”Half of my body contains bloodlines of Earth humans.”

The eyes of the order enforcer slowly widened, and then...

His eyes lost their brilliance.

He died.

”Huh...? He died so fast.” The monster felt bored and turned around to sit back.

”What exactly is going on?”

...

According to what this order enforcer said, when the alien invaders ordered them to come, they were already planning to march here.

They were supposed to be the vanguard.

And now, these vanguard troops were either dead or injured, fleeing in disarray.

The technology of the World Tree’s weapons had already been exhibited.

In the eyes of the alien invaders, the only reason they could possess such an advanced level of weapon technology was because they received the help of the monsters.

So, after this event, the other side would very likely be convinced that the monster was right here.

Though the monster did not assist them in this aspect, by a twist of fate, everything fell into place.

”You must be prepared.” The monster said, ”I have been toying with them for fifty whole years, what do you think they will do when they know I am here?”

...

The atmosphere inside the World Tree became even more tense.

Members of the exploration team immediately informed everyone that a great battle was approaching, and told them to stay prepared at all times.

There were no voices of dissent.

The survivors had lived this way all along, one could even say, they had always been waiting for this day.

And the vast majority of over ten thousand underground world base residents were already purified into fanatical believers, their crazed faith in Xu Xin and Xu Ying matched that of those order enforcers towards the alien invaders, naturally fully supportive.

The whole nation took up arms.

In such an atmosphere, time in the World Tree flowed day by day.

Outside the World Tree, once a barren area burned clean had already grown lush greenery.

At the same time, those order enforcers who were killed in the previous bombing were gradually being sent in from the outside one by one.

What Xu Xin and the others wanted were not these dead bodies, but... their clothes.

This armor!

”Is this the tenth one? I didn’t expect there to be quite many order enforcers who were bombed to death.” Li Wenxi lifted the helmet in her hand, ”So heavy!”

They had previously studied this armor but did not figure anything out from it.

The material of the armor seemed to be some kind of alloy, containing meteoric iron, iron, titanium, and various other elements, though the ratios were hard to determine. Replicating it would require a plethora of experiments.

Although Xu Xin and the others had previously collected some meteoric iron from the underground prison warehouses, the quantity was limited, not enough to support such large-scale experimentation, so they abandoned attempts to replicate the highly protective armor.

However, they were not disappointed because the ones they captured were already enough for use.

”Each of us will get one of these armors.” Xu Xin smiled and said.

Though taken from the dead, if it can save them in most situations, it’s a good thing.

Having experienced life and death in this world, who would care if it came from the dead?

”Really nice! Then this one is mine.”

Just then, Zhao Xiaochuan sent a message to all the explorers.

”Everyone, I’ve made a gold-grade improved version of the Cloak of Invisibility! We’re invincible now!”

”Cloak of Invisibility?” Xu Ying perked up with interest, asking Xu Xin and Xu Ying, ”Is that cloak the one where you feel completely undetectable as long as you stay still while wearing it?”

She hadn’t used it but only heard about it.

”Zhao Xiaochuan will explain it, I’m sure.”

As expected, Zhao Xiaochuan’s next sentence explained the effects of the new version of the Cloak of Invisibility.

”The basic functionality is the same as before, but the improved cloak doesn’t need you to remain still to activate it. It can also provide concealment while walking as long as you don’t make any exaggerated movements! Of course, it’s still best not to get touched; otherwise, you’ll still be found.”

”Good stuff!” Xu Ying’s eyes lit up, ”This cloak is simply the best way for us to sneak into those alien invaders’ bases!”

”Great!” Li Wenxi also cheered, ”With this armor, our survival rate feels greatly enhanced!”
