Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1275 - 656: Taking the Initiative, Bombarding All Around!

Inside the World Tree, two months slipped away silently.

Outside the World Tree, it was already noon the next day.

”You were gone for quite a long time this time!” Li Wenxi lay on the lap of Xu Xin, who had just returned home, ”Did you get everything settled?”

”Of course.” Xu Xin smiled slightly, pinching her cheek, ”Everything that needs preparation has been prepared.”

Xu Xin, Xu Ying, Ji Chaoyang, and Shi Wanyun went to the World Tree at sea.

There, they had an official meeting with the person in charge of zones 1-5.

”Oh... is that so.”

Li Wenxi did not ask what Xu Xin and the others experienced over there, she fell quiet.

Two minutes later, she spoke: ”Danger is about to arrive.”

”I know, Qin Fu informed us when we returned.”

”Hmm...”

Although only a day had passed in the outside world, the Behemoth Catalyst Plan was already reaching its end.

The mutant creatures, originally not too large, had now each turned into behemoths over twenty meters tall!

Hundreds of behemoths, hundreds of petrified behemoths, plus countless petrified giant insects and mutant creatures, filled the entire peripheral region of Crystal City, forming a daunting defensive line.

This defensive line is not as simple as imagined.

Petrified behemoths possess a powerful recovery ability, allowing them to reform in place even if shattered into pieces, while those catalyzed behemoths, as long as they are within Crystal City receiving the City’s assistance, can have nearly infinite stamina and extraordinary healing abilities.

That means they are nearly perpetual strong defenses within Crystal City.

Moreover, although petrified behemoths have practically lost their consciousness, those catalyzed behemoths are high-intelligence beasts with giant beast lineage.

During this period, they haven’t entirely stayed within Crystal City but have been roaming its surroundings, returning only to rest.

The area around the World Tree and Crystal City has become a habitat for countless behemoths.

The World Tree controlled by alien invaders on the other hemisphere is surrounded by only some small, advanced mutant creatures, which pales in comparison to this World Tree.

This is entirely normal, as the alien invaders had never succeeded in controlling behemoths.

But what they did not anticipate was that these small, ugly Earth humans managed to accomplish this!

Of course, Xu Xin and the others did not control the behemoths; instead, they made the behemoths allies, making them voluntarily protect Crystal City and everything within, including the World Tree.

The reliance is the power of Crystal City and the crystallized core.

But in the eyes of the alien invaders, it is control.

”Recently, more anomalies have appeared outside the World Tree,” Li Wenxi sighed, continuing to rest her head on Xu Xin’s lap, ”Qin Fu said, ’Order Maintainers’ have begun to appear outside.”

Order Maintainers are currently humanity’s top combat power, but unfortunately, they belong to the alien invaders’ side.

Where these Order Maintainers came from is unknown since the area around the World Tree has restrictions on teleportation, making it impossible for them to be teleported here; they could only have come through the forest.

If behemoths were the ones advancing, anyone either inside the control console of the World Tree or using binoculars outside could easily spot them.

But since Order Maintainers are human, their bodies are quite small, making them undetectable if they come through the dense jungle.

Thus, it was only when they approached Crystal City that someone, through the hundred-fold slow-motion view inside the World Tree, noticed those ”Order Maintainers.”

The appearance of Order Maintainers indicates a complete escalation of the situation.

”Yingying told me that Order Maintainers are directly under alien invaders, used to clear out traitors among their own ranks,” Xu Xin said, ”which means the alien invaders have started to take action, aiming to eliminate us.”

Qin Fu discovered a dozen different Order Maintainers.

This implies the situation has become very severe.

However, not a single one of these Order Maintainers has made a move or killed any mutant creature within Crystal City.

They haven’t even stepped half a foot into Crystal City, remaining outside of its perimeter.

Even now, this is still the case.

Li Wenxi sat up, pursed her lips, and said, ”Yingying mentioned you’re considering taking action outside?”

Currently, around Crystal City, all sorts of bizarre figures have gathered.

Order Maintainers, furry humanoids, and even the number of mutant creatures has increased.

These beings have never had intentions of invading Crystal City, so during these months in the World Tree, they also didn’t have plans to attack those beings. Even though the weapons they currently possess could easily eliminate those beings from such close range of a few kilometers.

But now, everything is prepared.

”We... can’t remain so passive anymore,” Xu Xin explained, ”Crystal City is showing signs of being completely surrounded.”

On the map in his mind, the density of red dots within tens of kilometers of the World Tree exterior has entirely outgrown what it was before.

The brightness of these red dots, even the weakest represents intermediate mutant creatures.

Those red dots with the brightness reaching advanced mutant levels account for at least thirty percent.
