Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 400: Chapter 301: Bombing the Army of Mutant Creatures!

Lou Fei’Er had already returned to the base of the treehouse, just about to speak, when the roots of the treehouse wrapped around her waist and pulled her up.

”Here you go!” Lou Fei’Er immediately stuffed the wristband from her pocket into Xu Xin’s hand, then backed away, distancing herself from the wristband, even wiping her hands on her clothes, as if she had handled something dirty.

She truly felt uncomfortable seeing this wristband.

”Ma Hongwei was just squeezed to death by the giant anaconda, and only resurrected after mutating. He should be in a mutation phase now, be careful, he might lose his sanity,” Lou Fei’Er warned.

Xu Xin nodded.

Still, he had to let Ma Hongwei out first to check the situation.

In a flash of light, Ma Hongwei lay on the ground.

It indeed was a mutated appearance, with blood streaks covering his face and body, but at the moment, his eyes were tightly shut, and his facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, as if terrified of something.

Thinking about it, being squeezed to death by a giant anaconda would leave a significant shadow on anyone, even if he could resurrect. The fear at the moment of death is unavoidable.

”Whimper...” Keke ran to Ma Hongwei’s side, using small paws to push his head.

”He’s... having a nightmare, probably. His recent death was indeed quite tragic,” Lou Fei’Er said with a hint of empathy while looking at Ma Hongwei. She had also died once and understood the feeling.

Ma Hongwei’s body showed no signs of abnormality now, only his clothes had some bloodstains, telling of his recent plight. But strangely, he hadn’t woken up.

Why entered a breakout state, healed wounds, yet remained unconscious?

”Hmm, I feel it might be because the injuries were too severe,” Lou Fei’Er saw Xu Xin’s puzzled expression, knowing what he was thinking, so she explained, ”His previous state, probably all his bones were shattered, internal organs squeezed out, and the breakout mode forcibly kept him alive, likely consuming all available power for healing.”

Lou Fei’Er had some understanding of the forces within her own body that could explode at any moment. These powers have a limit each time, and once consumed, they’re gone.

”Is that so...” Xu Xin nodded, then returned Ma Hongwei back into the wristband.

Considering he was still in breakout mode and could wake up at any moment, it was better to keep him in the wristband to prevent any mindless rampage.

He released another mutated human from the wristband.

Unfortunately, this guy still had a frightening appearance, eyes wide open and fiercely protruding, but no matter what Xu Xin did to him, he remained silent and inactive.

Shaking his head, Xu Xin also returned him into the wristband.

Better deal with the current situation first.

Xu Xin looked towards the window, the giant anaconda’s massive body had completely submerged into the water, vanishing.

On the map, the red dot representing the giant anaconda was gradually fading. Other red dots in the lake were no longer stationary by the shore but began to move.

Could it be... gone?

Xu Xin continued observing until the red dot of the giant anaconda completely disappeared.

”It seems the giant anaconda has truly left.” He finally felt at ease this time.

However, what did this giant creature come up for?

It seemed very focused on him.

The first time during the initial beast tide, it stared intently at his treehouse direction just like this time.

The second time was when he summoned the crocodile to clear out the piranhas, that time the crocodile seemed to have deliberately led it out. Even after being battered and bruised post-battle, it didn’t forget to take a glance at the treehouse before leaving.

This time, more so, whether emerging halfway from water or suddenly stopping on land, was to observe his treehouse.

Could there be something, either he or his treehouse, attracting the giant anaconda?

...Treehouse core?

Could it be the treehouse core?

Xu Xin thought, with treehouse core functioning very similar to the energy core fragments, both emitting a white glow capable of dispelling cold and driving off mutated creatures.

The giant anaconda was clearly of pure beast bloodline, while the energy core fragments gathered giant strength.

Through energy core fragments, it seemed plausible to connect the giant anaconda with the treehouse core.

If its target was the treehouse core, why didn’t it attack his main treehouse but instead destroyed Ma Hongwei’s treehouse? Ma Hongwei’s treehouse certainly had no core, while his core was currently in his possession.

Can’t figure it out...

Forget it, it’s better not to think about it now. The urgent task is to handle the mutated creatures surrounding the treehouse.

After the giant anaconda returned to the lake, the previously receding mutated creature groups began to gather again, showing signs of surrounding.

Xu Xin confirmed the giant anaconda had completely disappeared and smiled, telling Lou Fei’Er, ”Go operate the control panel, and attack immediately if these beasts make any move!”

”Oh, okay!” Lou Fei’Er quickly went to the control panel.

This time, these mutated creatures seemed to have changed their previous tactic of encircling attacks and were forming a massive army to the north of the treehouse.

They seemed to understand that dispersed attacks from all sides were insufficient to break through the plant heart’s defenses, so they decided to focus on a single point, attempting a forceful breakthrough!
