Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 363: Chapter 287: Lou Fei’Er Shrouded in Shadows

Xu Xin immediately returned to the treehouse and activated the electric pump.

The humming sound started, and a few seconds later, the electric pump drew water into the treehouse.

Unsure of how long the snowy weather would last, Xu Xin began storing water.

He made one large bucket after another, drew the water up, filled the buckets, and stored them in the extra space on the first level of the treehouse.

Soon, the first level was filled with water.

These should be enough.

The small screen on the electric water heater lit up, displaying two numbers.

One being a percentage and the other a temperature.

The percentage clearly indicated capacity, which was rapidly increasing, while the temperature showed 6℃.

A few seconds later, the water heater’s capacity showed 100%, and the pump automatically stopped drawing water.

Xu Xin activated the heater, and the temperature display slowly rose.

Nice, comfortable!

He then connected the pump to the toilet’s water storage tank, linked the drainage pipe, and connected it outward to a deeper spot below the treehouse for sewage disposal.

Does this count as fertilizing the treehouse?

Next, Xu Xin installed electric lights in each room, then made an electric oven and a range hood, making the kitchen somewhat decent.

Having set all this up, Xu Xin returned to the third floor, heavily sat on the sofa, and exhaled deeply.

His treehouse seemed self-sufficient, providing the feeling that he could survive without ever leaving.

Is this the feeling of a doomsday fortress?

Weapons, energy, food—he had it all, and in abundance.

This feeling is indeed great.

After finishing all these tasks, the sky had darkened slightly, and other members of the [Explorers] had also gradually returned to the treehouse.

Xu Xin immediately began setting them up with the power grid.

Ji Chaoyang had also returned to the treehouse, so Xu Xin handed him copper blocks directly.

He could unlock blueprints himself, so there was no need for Xu Xin to manage; he could craft them himself.

Meanwhile, people on the regional channel were already beginning to feel uneasy.

Because they could clearly feel that the temperature outside the treehouse was dropping.

Indeed, during the day, the temperature was six or seven degrees, and it could even reach around ten degrees at noon, but once night fell, the temperature was already near zero degrees!

”Oh my God, it’s really going into the cold winter as the bigshot said!”

”Thankfully, the bigshots reminded us to make fireplaces in advance and to chop more trees. My wood reserves can last me quite a while now.”

”I’ve cut all the trees around, wasted several axes! I’m well-stocked with energy, feeling secure.”

”Secure about what! Didn’t the bigshots say there would be a beast tide tomorrow?”

”I’ve already bought four crossbows. If any beast dares attack the treehouse, I’ll sweep them away!”

”Four? Managed to buy four? Damn, I’ve only bought two!”

”Finally have some meat to eat, I’m dying for it. And now that it’s so cold, preservation time is sure to be long, feeling great!”

It seems like the people in District 188 are basically fully prepared as well.

Without a control panel and power grid, their survival rate is surely lower compared to the [Explorers].

But there’s no help for it; providing them with information and selling them new-style crossbows, the [Explorers] have done their utmost.

Today, Li Wenxi found a considerable amount of saltpeter, enough to supply ordinary survivors with some.

Very quickly, Xu Xin had set up the power grid for all members of the [Explorers] and even made the appliances they wanted.

Zhao Xiaochuan: ”I’m feeling super confident now about defending against tomorrow’s beast tide! Control panel, crossbows with explosive bolts, and the high-voltage grid—who can break through my defenses? Not even Brother Xin and Brother Chaoyang can!”

Li Wenxi: ”How much of the mutated vine’s sap have you all gathered? I have over ten thousand kilograms of green-grade saltpeter here.”

Wang Lei: ”What?! Over ten thousand kilograms?!”

Li Wenxi: ”Oh dear, there are many people with me, and Xu Xin asked me to dig more, so I accidentally dug up quite a lot.”

Xu Xin was also stunned.

He immediately looked at the blueprint for making explosives.

[Small Explosives (Green): Small explosives that detonate upon impact, fairly powerful, can be used to craft explosive arrows and explosive bolts. Small Explosives (Green) *20 requires Vine Sap (Green) *1kg, Saltpeter (Green) *2kg, Charcoal (Green) *20]

Twenty small explosives, meaning twenty explosive bolts, require 2kg of saltpeter. Hence, with over ten thousand kilograms of saltpeter, if the vine sap is sufficient, one could make one hundred thousand explosive bolts!

With so many explosive bolts, they could surely share with others to improve their survival rate.

However...

Xu Xin checked his own vine sap.

Even though he hunted over a hundred powerful mutated vines, each yielding several times the sap of ordinary ones, even so, with what he previously had left, he only had over eight hundred kilograms of mutated vine sap.

To make one hundred thousand explosive bolts, at least five thousand kilograms of vine sap are needed!

Xu Xin: ”I only have over eight hundred kilograms of vine sap.”

Wen Guixin: ”I have two thousand three hundred kilograms now.”

...Two thousand three hundred kilograms?

Xu Xin raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised but not shocked.

After all, it was Wen Guixin, the combat prowess top-tier.

The other members also started revealing the weights of vine sap they held.
