Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 355: Chapter 283: Sizzle Sizzle, Barbecue Flavor

After finishing all this, Xu Xin immediately put away the core fragment.

Based on the core of that level blue treehouse, warming the surroundings and repelling mutated beasts requires consuming the core’s energy; the core in his hand is likely the same.

Although it’s unclear how much energy is left, it’s better to save it when possible, and not waste its energy unnecessarily.

In his backpack, there are nine Blood Patterned Vines and six Blood Thorned Vines. Xu Xin also earned 570 points by killing these vines.

Not bad, over five hundred points in just a few minutes!

Xu Xin thought about it and decided not to deal with the vine corpses right away, but instead continued to let Mimi attract vines in the danger zone for a quick cleanup!

This time, Xu Xin was much more vigilant. If any mutated vines attempted to surround him, he would directly take out the energy core to scare them away.

However, until he had cleared the entire area in front of him, there was no repeat of the organized surprise attack with the vivid blood glow he had experienced earlier.

Mimi stretched out on the ground, stepping over the scattered corpses of vines.

It’s still in the original danger zone, but no vines are emerging anymore.

They killed over a hundred mutated vines in total, and Xu Xin’s points skyrocketed by over four thousand.

”Is this... did we clean out this area?” Xu Xin wondered as he saw Mimi strolling through the danger zone.

What happened? Did they wipe out all the underground creatures in this small area?

”Mimi, go for a run in the distance.”

Mimi immediately dove deeper into the danger zone. To Xu Xin’s surprise, Mimi ran far, circled around, and came back without any vines emerging from the ground.

”What’s going on?” Xu Xin was perplexed. ”Did I just turn this place into a safe zone?”

But he quickly dismissed that thought.

He recalled the vines’ coordinated attack earlier.

Something must have been controlling them just now.

And now, that thing knows sending these vines to attack is only leading them to their deaths, so it might as well stop them from coming out!

What does that mean? Is it luring him in deeper?

Xu Xin felt a bit tempted.

However, unfortunately, he had to focus on the impending disaster tomorrow and couldn’t afford any distractions. Besides, the monsters inside must be even stronger, and he might not be able to handle them now.

Xu Xin took out the energy core to illuminate the surroundings, ensuring that the monsters indeed couldn’t emerge from the ground anymore. Then he stepped forward and collected all the mutated vines into his backpack.

His purple-grade backpack only bears 2% of the weight, so the weight of more than a hundred mutated vines felt like just two vines on him, or Silver King, which was no problem at all.

Xu Xin climbed onto the wolf, taking a last look at the now-messy and fragmented ground.

”Let’s go, let’s head back.”

The man and four beasts traversed the desolate forest once again.

Returning to Li Wenxi’s treehouse, there wasn’t a soul in sight nearby. Li Wenxi, Li Yajun, Lou Fei’Er, and Le Youfang were all out mining.

”...have to tell her, at least have someone stay back next time.” Xu Xin was a bit speechless, as there was no protection at all. If anyone came, they could just quietly take down the treehouse.

Xu Xin activated the portal, taking the beasts back to the vicinity of his treehouse.

After passing through the portal, the beasts, who were a bit dizzy, instinctively entered the Red Mist cabin.

”Ying...” Keke lay on the window of the small wooden house, peering inside.

The beasts recovered from the side effects in less than a minute and then came out at Xu Xin’s urging.

He still needed Silver King and Mimi to work.

Leading the beasts up to the treehouse, Xu Xin came to the first floor and piled all the mutated vines he had just collected onto the ground.

”Silver King, Mimi, you two should be quite familiar with this by now.” Xu Xin immediately placed dozens of wooden barrels on the ground with a smile, ”I’ll leave collecting the vine juices to you.”

”Awo!” Silver King complied, turning to grab a Blood Patterned Vine, while Mimi skillfully swung its claw to cut a long slit in the vine, causing the juice to drip out slowly.

”Make sure to deal with all of these.” Xu Xin patted the heads of the two big guys.

Reaching the third floor, Keke once again dived into the sofa, rolling around. Xu Xin sat beside it and stretched his body, then called Li Wenxi.

”Hello? What’s up, Xu Xin?” Li Wenxi’s voice still echoed, obviously still in the mine.

”You’re still digging, huh? I’m already back at the treehouse.” Xu Xin checked the time; it was already afternoon, and he hadn’t had lunch yet. After working all morning, he was famished.

”If you’re free, come and help me!” Li Wenxi, assuming Xu Xin had nothing to do, immediately attempted to drag him over to her.

”Uh... I have a little something to attend to. I just wanted to remind you it’s time for lunch, maybe you can return to the treehouse and bring over the smelted copper blocks for me.” Xu Xin tactfully stated his purpose.

”...You’re only concerned about me because of the copper blocks, aren’t you!” Li Wenxi said, not very pleased.
