Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 373: Chapter 291 Snowing Winter is Coming

”Since we can transplant it, let’s take action now,” Ji Chaoyang said as he took out a shovel.

”Alright.”

The banyan tree, not connected to the treehouse, didn’t possess the difficult-to-excavate attributes of a treehouse. After just a few moves, Ji Chaoyang had dug up the banyan tree.

”Boom!”

The entire banyan tree fell to the ground, breaking some branches at the top of the tree.

But Ji Chaoyang’s face revealed an expression of delight.

”I’ve obtained the banyan tree plant; it can be transplanted within twenty-four hours.”

Xu Xin had already taken out the banyan tree seed from the tree pit.

The probability of successful transplantation is 50%, and they succeeded on the first try!

Ji Chaoyang reached out to touch the banyan tree, which was about twelve or thirteen meters tall with the tree crown, and directly stored the huge banyan tree into his backpack.

Only then did Xu Xin realize that his backpack was also purple-level.

The purple-level backpack could reduce the weight to one-fiftieth, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to store the large banyan tree directly.

”Did you obtain purple-level fish skin from the piranha? How many pieces did you get?”

”Only this one,” Ji Chaoyang pointed to the backpack, ”The drop rate of purple is very low, maybe mid-level mutant creatures are higher.”

With the banyan tree, Ji Chaoyang walked to the main treehouse and transplanted the banyan tree close to the treehouse.

Under the watchful eyes of Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang, the banyan tree surprisingly began to grow taller at a visible speed, and the crown became lush.

The original blue-level banyan tree was much shorter than Ji Chaoyang’s purple-level treehouse, but after tens of seconds, the bottom of the crown of the blue-level banyan tree was level with the bottom of Ji Chaoyang’s treehouse crown, adding a new first and second layer to Ji Chaoyang’s treehouse.

It seems that the banyan tree will automatically adapt and grow according to the type of main treehouse, even a transplanted treehouse will gradually change.

Ji Chaoyang looked back at Xu Xin: ”Keep that seed with you, after all, it was you who discovered that the banyan tree could be transplanted. You can first plant one away from the treehouse and see if two banyan trees can expand the protected zone further. If it doesn’t work, give it to someone else.”

Xu Xin also had this thought.

He already had a banyan tree over there; according to Ji Chaoyang’s words, his protection zone should have already reached twelve kilometers.

If he planted another one, could it reach fifteen kilometers?

If it could really reach fifteen kilometers, his protection zone could directly border Li Wenxi’s treehouse’s protection zone!

At that time, the surrounding dangerous areas would be further reduced.

”Okay, I’ll take it back then. By the way, did you discover anything while exploring outside today?”

He was a bit curious, why Ji Chaoyang went out exploring instead of staying in the treehouse and preparing more, on the day before this disaster struck.

Ji Chaoyang’s expression became somewhat hesitant, then he said, ”I discovered some clues, but can’t be sure. I want to verify during this crisis; I’ll tell you once I’m sure.”

His brows furrowed slightly, as if thinking of something unpleasant.

Xu Xin didn’t say much, nodded, ”Alright, I’ll head back then.”

Holding the banyan tree seed, Xu Xin activated the portal and returned to his treehouse.

This seed definitely couldn’t be given to others or planted near the treehouse; he needed to rely on this seed to produce more seeds.

Thinking it through, Xu Xin planted the seed next to the coordinate, then directly purchased a bag of blue-level fertilizer from the store and scattered it on top.

The seed turned into a sapling within tens of seconds.

Good, this way, it will take only ten hours, which is tomorrow morning, for the tree to mature.

Just wait till tomorrow morning...

”Eh?”

Xu Xin suddenly felt a hint of coldness on his face.

He looked up at the sky.

The night, shrouded in clouds, had no moon or dazzling starry sky, so the surroundings were completely dark, with only the light from the furnace glowing from his main treehouse and Lou Fei’Er’s treehouse.

He hadn’t eaten the red berries, but the previous vision potion gave him good vision, and his nocturnal vision had improved, so he could still roughly see the sky.

Scattered snowflakes had already begun to fall gently.

It’s snowing.

Xu Xin reached out his hand, and a large snowflake fell into his palm, gradually melting due to the warmth of his hand.

Then, the snowflakes began to fall continually.

Within minutes, the originally desolate forest transformed dramatically, with all the branches adorned in white, and a thin layer of snow covering the ground.

At the current temperature, it’s impossible for the snow to melt; it will just accumulate thicker and thicker.

Xu Xin exhaled white vapor.

Winter has descended.

He glanced at the sapling that continued to grow robustly. Just hoped its growth wouldn’t stop.

Lou Fei’Er stuck her head out of the treehouse window, standing in amazement at the falling snow: ”It’s really snowing! Ah, why are you outside, want to have a snowball fight?”

”Snowball fight? No,” Xu Xin replied helplessly, reminding Lou Fei’Er, ”Remember, if anything happens tomorrow, come to my treehouse to take refuge, your treehouse doesn’t have much protection.”

”Oh, alright, but... what if there’s a wild beast attack at night?” Lou Fei’Er tilted her head, then her eyes lit up, ”Hey, do you think I should return to my treehouse to guard that blue-level treehouse?”
