Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 388: Chapter 296: Crazy Blizzard! The Surrounded Treehouse!_3

His two parasitic treehouses were not surrounded.

Was it because there were no survivors inside?

He looked out the window; the snowstorm was growing worse, even mixed with hail.

The tree canopy was constantly being scattered, many leaves were torn and forced away from the treehouse, swept into the terrifying snowstorm.

Hail the size of pebbles struck madly at the windows as the canopy was scattered by the wind, scratching his window glass.

Fortunately, his glass had the same strength as the treehouse walls; although scratched, there was no risk of breaking.

The snowstorm outside was too intense!

In such a blizzard, he couldn’t guarantee he could stand steady, yet those red dots could be so orderly!

”Terrifying...” Lou Fei’Er swallowed hard, ”What’s happening outside?”

”Bleh!” Keke suddenly looked up at the sky, then buried herself into Xu Xin’s arms in fear, muffledly exclaiming again, ”Bleh...”

Xu Xin patted Keke’s head, waiting for the snowstorm to end outside.

No way, in this situation, he could only wait and had no other options.

”Oh no... Xu Xin, one of the heavy crossbows on the treehouse is broken!” Lou Fei’Er suddenly tugged on Xu Xin’s arm, ”Look!”

He looked down at the control panel.

A line of small text appeared at the bottom of the control panel.

[Treehouse automatic crossbow (green) damaged.]

A green-level treehouse crossbow...

This crossbow was supposed to be his first installed one, a green-level ordinary crossbow; he hadn’t dismantled it all along, unexpectedly, it got damaged in this snowstorm.

[Treehouse automatic repeater crossbow (green) damaged.]

”Ah, another one damaged! Still a repeater crossbow!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed!

Damn! The repeater crossbow is broken too!

Xu Xin’s eye twitched slightly.

If the repeater crossbow is broken, so be it; after all, it’s green-level, and he can still contact Ma Hongwei to exchange for new ones if needed, but...

He had preloaded two hundred explosive bolts into each repeater crossbow! With the crossbow broken, those bolts...

”Boom boom boom! Boom! Boom boom boom!”

Sure enough, as he expected, sparks suddenly brightened in the snowstorm, while his treehouse also suffered several explosive attacks, the entire treehouse trembling in the explosion sounds.

”Oh my god!” Lou Fei’Er gripped the control panel with slight fear on her face, ”The treehouse won’t collapse, will it?”

”Damn it!” Xu Xin gritted his teeth, but had no option but to hope the snowstorm would stop soon.

The sound of explosions kept ringing out, and amidst it, he seemed to hear the howls of beasts.

[Killed Mutant Snow Wolf, Points Awarded: 30]

Hmm?

Killed Snow Wolf?

Xu Xin’s tightly furrowed brows relaxed, he blinked and thought of something, then smiled involuntarily.

It seemed the snowstorm had blown those explosive bolts a hundred meters away, damaging those red dots outside.

Even one unfortunate creature had perished directly in the explosion.

With the continuous explosion sounds, a total of four notifications reached his ears.

One mutant snow wolf, two mutant snow foxes, and even one mutant snow leopard!

Seizing the moment, he started focusing on the map.

Around his main treehouse, red dots continued to light up, encircling the entire treehouse, yet not one red dot stepped within a hundred-meter range.

They gathered in an orderly manner amidst the wild snowstorm, seemingly unaffected by the blizzard.

This made Xu Xin suspect the snowstorm might only be around his treehouse.

Only sweeping around his treehouse?

Were those explosive bolts directly flung out, detonating them?

The relentless crackling outside continued, prompting him to cover his ears in irritation.

In this maddening noise, enhanced hearing was a total negative buff!

Xu Xin suddenly thought of the blueberry (blue), the emotion-influencing blueberry (blue), which he used during storm seasons to calm the agitation caused by constant thunder.

He immediately took one, ate it, and gradually felt his mood settling, his mind clearing, starting to think calmly.

Those red dots unmistakably were transmitted by those purple-black whirlwinds.

Moreover, based on earlier hints, those red dots outside were likely predominantly mutant creatures.

Mutant creatures transmitted by purple-black whirlwinds...

Xu Xin looked towards Lou Fei’Er.

He thought of something.

”Wh...what’s wrong?” Lou Fei’Er felt uneasy under Xu Xin’s gaze, habitually glancing at the wristband on his left hand, then stepped back slightly.

Xu Xin slowly widened his eyes.

The transmission of mutant creatures produces strong side effects! Even a creature as strong as Mimi would be rendered powerless and unable to crawl upon transmission!

Those mutant creatures outside should now all be lying down, right?

Quite likely! Those red dots, although orderly, moved at a turtle’s pace upon appearing, extremely slow.

Moreover, his explosive bolts just killed a mutant snow leopard!

Even an ordinary snow leopard isn’t easy to kill!

Bear in mind, snow leopards are not just cute creatures but are muscle-bound hulks of the leopard subfamily!

Their body strength far exceeds that of Mimi’s cheetah species, far too far beyond! Xu Xin didn’t believe a mutated snow leopard would be so easily killed by explosive bolts swept up in the snowstorm!

Despite being just low-level mutant creatures.

No mistake, those creatures out there now likely couldn’t move easily!

So, could he take the opportunity to massacre them directly?

Sadly, the snowstorm was too intense outside now...

Eh?

As though responding to Xu Xin’s thoughts, the wind suddenly quieted down outside, the furious snow calming gradually.

The snowstorm came quickly and left just as fast, abruptly stopping within a minute, and the sunlight outside shone upon Xu Xin’s face.

The ground outside the treehouse was a mess, countless shattered leaves and branches scattered, mixed with snow.

A hundred meters away, the forest was peaceful, a one-meter snow layer remained intact, the scene still a splendid silver decor; appearing serene and timeless. Only a small portion of snow atop branches was blown onto the ground at the beginning, leaving them bare once more, but it was harmless.

If not for the chaotic scratches on the glass, from the forest’s appearance alone, Xu Xin might have thought the snowstorm was an illusion.

Not far off, the lake surface was full of broken ice blocks, slowly floating around. Numerous red dots swam back and forth in the lake.

Xu Xin checked his watch; it had only been about ten minutes since the snowstorm began blowing.

While those red dots, the quickest one had only appeared for about five minutes.

There was still a chance!

”What...what’s going on?” Lou Fei’Er gazed at the scene outside, then suddenly realized, ”The snowstorm just circled the treehouse?”

She glanced at the control panel, then exclaimed in surprise, ”Xu Xin, the purple-black whirlwinds that appeared are gone, the snow surface is flat again, nothing’s left!”

Looking over, Xu Xin saw the even snow layer reappeared on the control panel.

But he wouldn’t be fooled.

Because the map already had countless red dots hiding near the treehouse.

Were they beneath the snow layer?

”Do you want carnage?” Xu Xin suddenly asked.

”Huh?” Lou Fei’Er was stunned; hearing the word carnage changed her expression, her blood-red pupils deepening, her red lips parted, she spoke softly, ”I want it.”

”Then come with me. Mimi, Silver King, Afu, we’ll go down together, and teach those uninvited guests a lesson!”

Purple-grade steel halberd, purple-grade steel armor set...

Xu Xin was now very confident! Even if those creatures regained their strength, he absolutely wouldn’t need to fear!

It’s time to unleash carnage!

”Awoo——”
