Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 364: Chapter 287 Lou Fei’Er Shrouded in Shadows_2

The total amount is just over four thousand kilograms.

But it’s enough.

At this moment, Ji Chaoyang, who hadn’t spoken up until now, said, ”I’ll go ask on the regional channel. Besides us, there must be some capable individuals who can take down the Blood Patterned Vine.”

Sure enough, under Ji Chaoyang’s inquiry, several survivors mentioned that they had vine sap in their possession but were unaware of its use.

Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang immediately DMed them, explaining that it was a raw material for making explosives and offered to trade finished explosive crossbow bolts for it. They easily exchanged all the vine sap.

After all, it was useless for them to keep it.

Ji Chaoyang: ”Give me all the materials, and I’ll do the crafting. My crafting chamber has a 150% boost point. None of you should have as much as me, as the crafting chamber also reduces material consumption.”

Xu Xin’s crafting chamber only had a 100% boost, so without hesitation, he traded all the vine sap over.

Wang Lei: ”Whoa, Brother Chaoyang’s crafting chamber alone has more boost points than my total!”

Wen Guixin: ”I’ve traded it to you.”

Li Wenxi: ”Do I give you everything?”

Ji Chaoyang: ”No, give it to me in batches. All at once is too much.”

At this moment, the teleportation array outside Xu Xin’s treehouse suddenly emitted a piercing sound, and the teleportation exit opened.

Lou Fei’Er emerged from the teleportation exit and immediately fell to the ground, trembling as she got back on her feet and headed straight into a nearby cabin.

A minute later, she came out of the cabin, smiling contentedly, with the blood veins on her face not yet faded.

She wasn’t startled by the high-voltage electric grid, as she had just helped Li Wenxi set one up on her side.

”Xu Xin has marked such a large area, wow, there’s even a pool?” She was astonished by the newly excavated pool on the ground, ”Living the good life, huh?”

Thanks to enhanced hearing, Xu Xin could hear Lou Fei’Er’s words and rolled his eyes.

Lou Fei’Er didn’t go to find Xu Xin; she was exhausted from mining all day and just wanted to rest.

Finding the door, she reached out to push it.

”Zap!”

”Ah!”

Xu Xin heard the sound of an electric shock and a scream from outside.

Looking out the window, he saw Lou Fei’Er collapsed next to the electric grid, her body trembling continuously.

He quickly climbed down from the treehouse and went over to Lou Fei’Er.

She was still slightly shaking, her eyes rolling back a little, and the blood veins on her face, which had appeared in the cabin, had already faded significantly.

Xu Xin hurriedly crouched down to help Lou Fei’Er up.

By this time, Lou Fei’Er had regained consciousness. Seeing Xu Xin, she burst into tears, ”Waaah! Why am I getting shocked... boo hoo... I’ve been mining all day... even cooked lunch for you all... boo hoo... I’ve been so obedient... yet this stupid grid still shocks me... it hurts so much... waaaah!”

The more Lou Fei’Er thought about it, the angrier she became, and she started crying on the ground.

”Alright, alright, don’t cry,” Xu Xin gently patted her back to comfort her.

What exactly was going on?

Xu Xin looked at the map, and Lou Fei’Er was indeed marked green, clearly an ally unit.

Was there a malfunction with the electric grid?

That couldn’t be.

Xu Xin himself reached out to touch the grid and nothing unusual happened.

Seeing this, Lou Fei’Er cried even harder, ”Waaaah... even this stupid grid is bullying me...”

The blood veins on her face had now completely faded, returning to a normal appearance.

It seemed Xu Xin realized the reason.

Mutated creatures strengthened by the Red Mist appeared to be automatically considered enemy units!

...What exactly was this Red Mist? Any allied units that absorb it are mistakenly recognized as enemy units.

Xu Xin increasingly felt the Red Mist was highly dangerous.

No, moving forward, without necessity, Lou Fei’Er and Silver King shouldn’t enter that Red Mist room!

”Alright, alright, stop crying now, how do you feel?” Xu Xin asked Lou Fei’Er, as if comforting a child.

Lou Fei’Er hiccuped a couple of times, her eyes reddened, truly heartbroken this time, ”... I have no strength, just like during a period of weakness... and earlier, it hurt so much...”

She moved her right hand slightly, and Xu Xin finally noticed that her once fair right hand now looked so bad it couldn’t be directly seen, likely making some people uncomfortable.

The injury was serious!

...Although it’s not the right thing to say now, the power of this electric grid is indeed impressive.

Xu Xin quickly took out a pill and fed it to her.

”What’s this?” Lou Fei’Er asked after swallowing it without hesitation.

”Qi Xuefei’s pill.”

Lou Fei’Er felt an intense itchiness in her right hand as she looked down, and her once severely injured hand had already healed.

Her body, previously electrocuted by high voltage, was gradually regaining strength.

Lou Fei’Er’s eyes widened, ”Is this... the pill she made? It’s really powerful!”

”...You might have been shocked because of the effect of the Red Mist,” Xu Xin shared his conjecture with Lou Fei’Er.

”Red Mist...” Lou Fei’Er touched her now-normal face with her hand, ”So that’s why... I should be fine to touch it now, right?”

”I don’t know, you can try,” Xu Xin inwardly hoped Lou Fei’Er would test his theory.

”...Then I’ll give it a try.”

Due to Xu Xin’s increased charisma today, his words had a way of subtly convincing those around him, along with the influence of the contract. Lou Fei’Er had a great deal of trust in Xu Xin’s theory and also wanted to verify it herself.

Standing up, she gritted her teeth and reached towards the grid.

The moment she touched the grid, her body shuddered, and then...

Nothing happened.

”Whew...” Lou Fei’Er let out a trembling breath, ”It’s okay now; I can touch it.”

It’s over; her psychological shadow had grown again.

Ever since meeting Xu Xin, her heart had been shrouded in shadows.

It’s so tough...

”Thank you for the hard work today, go rest now,” Xu Xin didn’t know what else to say. Although Lou Fei’Er initially wanted to kill him, she had received her due punishment, and after everything that had happened, she truly seemed to have abandoned her original intentions.

She should indeed be considered one of us now.

”Okay.” Lou Fei’Er nodded modestly and was about to leave when she noticed an electric grid outside Ma Hongwei’s treehouse in the distance.

”...I also want an electric grid,” Lou Fei’Er turned back, looking at Xu Xin pitifully.

”You just have a small parasitic treehouse, why would you need an electric grid?” Xu Xin immediately refused, ”Once your treehouse parasitizes over here, I’ll set one up for you.”

”But, what about tomorrow!” Lou Fei’Er argued with reason.

”Tomorrow, come to my treehouse.” Xu Xin had already decided. Lou Fei’Er’s current treehouse was in the outermost protection range of the plant heart, a dangerous spot, so it was better to just leave it and have her come over.

In any case, a parasitic treehouse can regenerate even if destroyed.

As for Ma Hongwei, it was his call—if he wanted to come, that was fine; if he wanted to hang onto his own treehouse, that was fine too.

After all, his resources were similar to other explorers, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

If he couldn’t protect it, probably not many would survive in area 188.

”...Alright.” Lou Fei’Er conceded, knowing there was no use arguing further.

Returning to the treehouse, Ji Chaoyang already informed them on the [Explorer] channel that one hundred thousand explosive crossbow bolts had been crafted.

One hundred thousand, unbelievable!

”There are over three thousand people in the area; if we give each of them twenty, we’ll have forty thousand left for ourselves. How about that?” Xu Xin suggested.

”Sure, I don’t see any problem,” Li Wenxi immediately agreed.

”Yes, I thought the same,” Ji Chaoyang responded, ”Should I put them on the trading platform now?”

”No, don’t give them out yet. Let’s see how dangerous tomorrow is. If it’s really dire, we can distribute them then,” Xu Xin proposed, ”We’re not just handing out resources; we’re saving their lives.”

”...You’re right; we can decide tomorrow.”

The saltpeter miners and the two leaders had discussed and agreed, so naturally, there were no other issues.

”I actually don’t need that many,” Wen Guixin said, ”You guys can take a few more. I don’t think I need explosive arrows.”

”I nearly forgot,” Xu Xin smacked his forehead, ”Shouldn’t we be sharing our abilities with each other?”
