Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 394: Chapter 299: The Giant Python Lands!

The giant python had barely shown half its head, and already Xu Xin felt a chill down his spine.

Damn, this big guy still came out!

Please don’t attack the treehouse!

With his current defenses, there’s no way he could be a match for the Lake Giant Python!

”Whimper...” Keke’s little paws clung to the window’s edge, showing half a small head, sneakily peeking at the Lake Giant Python, then shrunk back in fear, but couldn’t resist peering out again, then shrunk back once more.

Silver King and Mimi also noticed the giant python outside the window.

Though they had returned, after the recent intense slaughter, their killing instincts had been fully activated, and their bloody patterns appeared even more vivid.

Silver King’s throat emitted a continuous low growl, and Mimi also bristled, both beasts extremely hostile to the giant python outside.

”Xu Xin! Xu Xin! The group of mutant beasts outside has surrounded us! They’ve encircled the treehouse! Should we attack? Should we attack?”

Lou Fei’Er’s hand hovered above the control panel, ready to attack at Xu Xin’s command.

She hadn’t seen the Lake Giant Python, as the control panel only displayed up to 200 meters around the treehouse, while the lake was over 200 meters away.

”No attack! Observe the situation first!” Xu Xin stared into the abyss-like black eyes of the giant python, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.

Currently, the most damaging attack he had against the beast horde was the exploding bolts in the crossbow.

But the sound of exploding bolts was too loud; if fired continuously, the noise might anger the giant python.

The Lake Giant Python kept gazing in the direction of his treehouse.

Unlike the previous two times when it emerged partially from the lake, this time it only revealed half its head without further surfacing, maintaining this position.

Xu Xin sensed something different.

Was it just an illusion? He felt that this half-exposed head seemed larger than before.

...The Lake Giant Python, has it become stronger?

”Really not attacking? Those beasts are about to charge!” Lou Fei’Er was anxious, her hand almost touching the control panel.

”No need.” Xu Xin said firmly, ”Put your hand down!”

”I... alright...” Lou Fei’Er lowered her hand, watching helplessly as the beasts around them came closer and closer, crossing the snow layer into the treehouse’s 100-meter radius.

Then, something happened that made her eyes widen.

The ground suddenly cracked open, countless vines emerged from the underground, effortlessly piercing the first wave of low-level mutant creatures entering the 100-meter radius, lifting them straight into the sky!

”Vines...” Lou Fei’Er murmured, ”attacking mutant creatures?”

She was unaware of the heart of the plant, as Xu Xin hadn’t told her about it, and in Zone 187, only their boss Zhang Daoguang had come into contact with the plant heart.

Before she could process what was happening, a strange shriek sounded from the jungle, and the beast horde went into instant frenzy, collectively charging towards Xu Xin’s treehouse!

Xu Xin perfectly captured that peculiar sound, his face changing.

It wasn’t a scream, it was... a whistle!

Someone was blowing a whistle! Using it to control these mutant creatures to launch an attack!

Was it the person he had just seen?

Xu Xin thought of the mutant human in his wristband, but now wasn’t the time for interrogation; he could only wait until this attack was over.

Seeing so many creatures charging, Lou Fei’Er instinctively tried to operate the control panel to attack.

Xu Xin directly grabbed her by the back of her collar, pulling her away from the control panel.

”I said no attack, don’t you understand?” Xu Xin’s voice turned slightly cold.

”But... but...” not attacking now, once they get closer, it would be too late...

Lou Fei’Er was a bit aggrieved, she was only trying to protect the treehouse. Since they were within range, why not shoot early, wouldn’t waiting for them to get closer be too late?

However, she had severe psychological fear towards an angry Xu Xin and didn’t dare to argue, so she lowered her head.

”Go to the window and see for yourself why I’m not using the exploding bolts,” Xu Xin’s tone softened a bit, allowing Lou Fei’Er to sigh in relief as she hurried to the window to look outside.

Then she was so terrified by the immense head by the lake that she covered her mouth: ”What kind of monster is that? Just the head is so big, its body...”

Xu Xin didn’t reply, remaining focused on the battle outside.

This group of mutant creatures was entirely different from those weak, treehouse-attacking mutant ants back then; their aggression was immense!

Aside from the first batch of mutant creatures being easily killed by the plant heart-controlled vines unknowingly, the following mutant creatures entering the 100-meter radius even stood a chance against the vines!

Among the mutant beasts attacking the treehouse, three species were the most numerous.

Snow Wolves, Snow Foxes, and Snow Leopards.

Xu Xin watched as a Snow Wolf directly bit through a vine, then dodged another vine’s attack with a sidestep!

He observed a Snow Fox nimbly dodging through the vines, with the vines unable to hit it.
