Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 360: Chapter 285 High Voltage Power Grid_2

That’s not too bad. After all, besides District 187, there are nearly 200 other districts that might come in handy someday.

Although we don’t know how many people are left in those districts, and very likely some have already been wiped out in the defensive battles.

”We made this big meal because we got our hands on some seasonings,” Li Wenxi giggled, ”How is it? Not bad, right? It’s been a while since we had something so tasty!”

”It’s really been a while. Hmm, this dish tastes great!”

”That’s the one I made!” Lou Fei’Er immediately looked up, with a bit of grease still on her lips, showing how enthusiastically she had been eating.

”Fei’Er’s cooking is amazing, way better than mine,” Li Wenxi agreed, ”Actually, only that one dish was made by me, the rest were all Fei’Er’s creations.”

Wow, that’s impressive?

Oh right, I almost forgot, Lou Fei’Er is a chef after all. Back then, she put all her decoration points into the kitchen.

”Tastes good, then you should be in charge of everyone’s meals from now on,” Xu Xin, well aware of his own lack of cooking skills, immediately appointed Lou Fei’Er as the chef.

Wang Lei also put his points into the kitchen, but while he’s good with high-grade ingredients, it’s not like we can have him cook for everyone here.

But it’s different for Lou Fei’Er. She’s one of us, a captive, use her freely.

”Sure, no problem,” Lou Fei’Er didn’t refuse, nor did she feel it to be a hassle. She always thought cooking was an enjoyable task, ”It just happens that I’ve also enhanced my place’s decoration in the kitchen. But if I’m cooking, I won’t wash the dishes!”

She’s the type who’d rather spend three hours cooking than three minutes washing dishes.

”You could have Ma Hongwei wash them; aren’t you his boss?”

”Great idea!”

”Hey, so can we all eat Fei’Er’s cooking from now on?” Li Wenxi was also excited, ”That’s fantastic; I’ll just go to your place to mooch meals in the future!”

”Do I... do I count as one too?” Le Youfang whispered to Li Yajun beside him.

”Probably...” Unable to get a word in, Li Yajun whispered back to Le Youfang.

”Sister Fei’Er cooking for me? Surreal...” Le Youfang shivered, recalling how Lou Fei’Er had once threatened him with a dagger and knocked him out without a second thought.

”Alright, no more of this,” Qi Xuefei interjected them with mild impatience, ”Aren’t you guys curious about what Xu Xin has to say regarding the generator?”

”Ah, right, I almost forgot!” Li Wenxi, Lou Fei’Er, and the others all turned their gaze towards Xu Xin.

While Xu Xin continued eating, he explained everything about the electrical appliances to them.

”Power grid, traps...” Qi Xuefei grew more astonished as she listened.

”Water pump! Electric water heater!” Li Wenxi was amazed, ”Can we finally have a decent bathroom?”

”Electric stove and range hood!” Lou Fei’Er’s eyes also lit up, ”Can we control the heat?”

As for Le Youfang and Li Yajun, Xu Xin’s words had left them utterly speechless.

Especially Le Youfang, who had just arrived, newly exposed to many things he didn’t have back there, and Xu Xin had just dropped a bombshell on him, leaving him stunned.

He even doubted whether he and these people had been living on the same planet before.

This is just too unbelievable! The gap is just too wide!

Soon, they finished their meal, and Xu Xin was the first to rise and say, ”Alright, I’m heading back now. Lou Fei’Er, please stay here and continue to help Wenxi.”

”Okay,” Lou Fei’Er nodded obediently.

”I’m going back to study those appliances and then update you on the situation.”

”Will the copper mines be enough?” Li Wenxi was a bit worried. With only over two hundred copper mines, it seemed inadequate to meet the demands of so many, ”If it’s not enough, just keep them for yourself.”

”Don’t worry, it should be enough.”

Even if it’s not, it doesn’t really matter. At least we’ll get the power grid set up first. The grid itself doesn’t consume copper blocks, just needs to connect to the generator, and even if equipped for everyone, it doesn’t use much copper.

Living kits aren’t essential; skipping them for now is fine.

Returning to his treehouse, a hungry Keke circled around him, whimpering.

He handed the packed leftovers of food and meat to Keke, then moved to the second floor of the treehouse.

Inside the power generation room, the coal generator was running continuously, with the remaining coal having gone from (200/200) to (177/200).

Looking into the battery room, the green battery was fully charged, while the blue one showed 36%.

Given its capacity of 50 kWh, 36% corresponds to 18 kWh.

With 5 kWh plus 18 kWh, that totals 23 kWh, consistent with the coal consumption, indicating that this coal is indeed powerful, as one block of green coal can provide 1 kWh!

However, this speed seems much faster than he initially calculated.

His earlier estimate was that it could fully charge 5 kWh per hour. But now, after just going for a meal, less than an hour, it’s charged 23 kWh.

After thinking for a moment, Xu Xin understood.

The more coal in the coal generator, the higher the efficiency! Previously, he only threw in seven blocks, thus the low efficiency.

Xu Xin took a deep breath, held it, and entered the generation room to replenish the coal generator to full capacity again.

”Vroom!” Surely enough, the coal generator emitted a louder roar once more.

Just like last time. Seems it’s indeed that way.

Xu Xin exited the generation room, deciding to first attempt making a high-voltage iron wire grid.

Each high-voltage iron wire grid requires two blocks of green-level iron. Xu Xin promptly asked Li Wenxi for some, then produced one to take a look.

”Bang!” A high-voltage iron wire grid crashed onto the floor.

It resembled his mental image of a high-voltage grid, an intricate wire mesh reaching about three meters high, with chaotic iron lines atop to prevent climbing over.

However, this iron wire mesh was only one meter long.

”So short,” Xu Xin was speechless.

He calculated that if he wanted to enclose his section, a radius of 100 meters, the circumference of a circle with a 100-meter radius is over 600 meters, requiring 600 of these grids, which means 1200 pieces of green-level iron.

Moreover, other appliances also need iron blocks.

That’s quite much...

If it were just him, it’d be fine, but if every explorer needed the same, Li Wenxi definitely couldn’t supply it.

Well...

Let’s just enclose the area within a 50-meter radius around the treehouse for now. Fifty meters is the current range he could still plant within, leaving the remaining area for the plant’s heart to cover as an attack zone.

If, like the last defensive battle, some still manage to slip through, the iron wire grid would come in handy then.

After all, a power grid requires power consumption. If possible, it’s best not to use it unnecessarily, treating it as a contingency measure is prudent.

However, for survivors without a plant heart, this kind of power grid is much more valuable than it would be in his hands.

Let’s go down and test the power grid’s functionality now.
