Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 391: Chapter 298: Great Upheaval, Giant Anaconda Reappears

”...You kicked the axe into the snow.” Xu Xin glanced at her, somewhat speechless.

”I... I...” Lou Fei’Er looked at the thick snow, also a bit dumbfounded. ”I’ll go find it now!”

Saying this, she dug into the snow and went in.

Xu Xin then looked at the mutated human who resembled a wild man.

Although dressed like a wild man, judging from the exposed arms and hands, apart from the blood marks, the skin was actually quite fair and smooth, completely lacking the feel of a wild man.

Xu Xin squatted down and looked at the lowered face of the mutated human.

”What the hell!” His expression changed dramatically, a cry of alarm, and he instantly jumped back, leaping three meters high with the boost in jumping ability, then fell into the snow behind.

”What happened?!” Lou Fei’Er just found the axe and immediately ran back.

”I’m fine, be careful with that guy!” Xu Xin stood up from the snow, clutching a long halberd as he walked over.

Not surprising he reacted so strongly; he just wanted to see what this man looked like and whether there were blood marks on his face.

Lou Fei’Er and Ma Hongwei only had blood marks on their face in the burst mode and when enhanced in the Red Mist. The rest of the time, as long as they dressed tightly, others couldn’t tell they were mutated creatures.

So he wanted to see what this person looked like.

As a result, he did see the blood marks on the man’s face, but simultaneously, he also saw his opened eyes!

Those blood-red eyes were staring ahead, with blood threads densely covering them, seemingly about to explode.

Just at the moment Xu Xin saw him, his eyeball slightly moved, meeting Xu Xin’s gaze.

Anyone in this scenario wouldn’t be startled!

”If you’re awake, speak then. You understand what I’m saying, right?” Xu Xin directly placed the halberd at his neck, lifting his head up.

”Oh my gosh!” Lou Fei’Er was instantly frightened by his bulging eyes, also jumping back like Xu Xin, ”What is this?!”

Despite his head being lifted up, he still didn’t move, only widened his eyes more, and his eyeballs protruded, resembling someone with hyperthyroidism, which made people feel uneasy.

”Not speaking? Can’t understand?” Xu Xin frowned.

Could it be that mutated humans can’t communicate?

If he didn’t understand, Xu Xin wouldn’t believe it.

Not to mention humans, even mutated creatures like Mimi Silver King could understand Xu Xin’s words; the only communication barrier was that Xu Xin couldn’t understand their words.

Are these mutated humans merely mutated tools without their own will and not the commanders he imagined?

”I’m asking you a question!” Lou Fei’Er stepped forward and gave the man’s arm a kick.

Then, under their surprised gaze, he slumped to the side and lay down in the snow.

His eyes remained wide open but still motionless, looking somewhat creepy.

Completely unable to move?

What is going on?

”Oink!” Keke jumped off Xu Xin’s shoulder, attempting to leap to the man’s side, but was snatched back by Xu Xin.

”Don’t run around!” Xu Xin glared at Keke.

Looking at the seemingly completely helpless mutated human in front of him, Xu Xin suddenly had an idea.

Could he initiate a contract now?

Although he lacked the ability to craft a mutated beast contract, saving it would be wise. But this human accompanied the army of mutated creatures, if he could make a contract, perhaps, he could obtain secrets of this world from him!

At this moment, Lou Fei’Er handed him the axe she’d been holding: ”Here, this is the axe he had. It’s actually a blue-level iron axe, said to be a special iron axe enhanced by mysterious power.”

Iron axe? A special iron axe?

Xu Xin took the axe.

[Special Iron Axe (Blue): Originally crafted by a survivor, after being enhanced by mysterious power, it causes tenfold damage to treehouses and can chop treehouses faster!]

”Gasp—” Xu Xin inhaled sharply, turning his gaze to the fallen, bulging-eyed mutated human staring at them.

Are these mutated humans specifically here to chop down treehouses? And they possess tools crafted by survivors?

Why do they have tools created by survivors?

Xu Xin had a rather bad thought.

Regardless, first try if a contract can be made!

If a contract could be successfully signed, perhaps he would know the secret lying within him.

However, signing a contract requires the other party to completely submit. With the fierce looks he’s showing, he doesn’t seem submissive, doesn’t seem like someone a contract could be successfully signed with.

Directly using a contract on him might have a 100% failure rate.

Xu Xin immediately waved the halberd, making cuts on the man’s body.

Using the halberd to absorb his vitality, making him completely weak could increase the probability of a successful contract.

”You’re going at it again...” Lou Fei’Er slightly turned her head upon seeing Xu Xin’s actions.

It’s not because she found it cruel, but because Xu Xin’s actions made her recall the day she was captured. Her newbie two-piece set was torn into strips, she had no strength, collapsed, begging for mercy, but still ended up having her throat cut.

Great, psychological shadow intensified...

The psychological shadow this guy left on her feels far more severe than any babysitter who tortured her.

However, it doesn’t disgust her; it just makes her purely fearful and respect Xu Xin more.
